Being unable to sleep properly after the nightmare, Jinjing woke up with a rather sluggish mood.
Unlike any other Sunday, where the Lee family would have their breakfast together, sharing the events for the past week and the agendas of the next one, today Jinjing was the last to have breakfast. Since her parents were aware that she returned late last night, they did not object to it.
After breakfast, Jinjing spent some time in her room tidying up her closet. When she was done she realized her cell phone was dead. She quickly put it to charge. Before the phone could power up, Mama Lee called for her "Jinjing hun come here, I need your help."
Leaving her room immediately, Jinjing head towards the garden from where she could hear her mother call her.
"hun my hands are a complete mess, can please hold the flower pot for me." Obliging, Jinjing put on her gardening gloves and began helping her mother.
Mama Lee loved gardening. Being a famous doctor, her schedule was very hectic. With gardening, she could unwind and relax. Jinjing inherited her love for gardening from her mother. The mother daughter duo spent the next 2 hours planting, talking and beautifying the garden.
Papa Lee who was sitting in the garden sipping tea, felt peaceful looking at the two having a good time.
He proposed making dumplings together.
Even though dumplings are a regular food item, the process of making them is pretty lengthy. From kneading the dough to making different fillings to shaping the dumplings, it was time consuming. But when all the members come together to make the dumplings, it becomes a joyous task.
The two ladies of the house agreed immediately. Cleaning up the mess in the garden and tidying themselves, they headed to the kitchen.
The Lee residence kitchen was filled with loud laughter and bantering. There was flour not only on the work station but also on the floor and some flour could also be found on Jinjing and papa Lee's hair and shoulders.
Another couple of hours went by, laughing, joking, cooking and cleaning. Jinjing suggested "Ma! I will cook the remaining lunch." To this papa and mama Lee left the kitchen.
Since they had a late breakfast, they were not in a hurry to have lunch. By 2 p.m the lunch was ready. Jinjing quickly took a shower and headed back to the dining room. It was Papa Lee's duty to set the table.
Tired with all the activities since morning, Jinjing headed to her room after lunch. Her sight fell on her phone which should have been charged by now. When she pressed to check, she realized that she had forgotten to power on the charger. "arrggghhh!!! Stupid, stupid Jinjing." She berated herself.
Switching the power on, she lied on her bed waiting for the phone to start up. But the lack of sleep the previous night took toll on her and she fell asleep holding her phone in her hand.
She woke up only when it had turned dark outside. She stretched and check the wall clock for time. It was past 6 already. She yawned and stepped in to the bathroom to freshen up. The irregular sleep timings gave her a headache.
Oblivious to her phone she headed to the kitchen to make herself a refreshing cup of coffee.
In short Liang could not reach her the entire day. When she finally tried calling him at around 9 p.m. his phone was switched off.
