As Enginentered the combat simulator he could not help but think how it truly did remind him of the Virtual Reality pods. This one however was slightly different. The capsule itself was standing upright, and it scanned both his iris and vital signs. He was greeted by a mechanical voice.
Engi stood there in the dark for several minutes as a spiraling loading screen appeared before him. Eventually the screen changed to match his own. He saw in front of him a virtual representation of himself, down to his goggles. "Will my AI be available during the simulation?"
A huge selection of weapons appeared before him. There were all sorts of swords, axes, bows and guns. Any type of weapon a person could think of was available here. Engi took a few moments to inspect the guns before choosing a simple hand gun. During his daily training he had used a hand gun on several occasions and found that while it was not as accurate or as powerful as an assault rifle, its maneuverability was much higher. He believed that with the proper modifications a handgun was the proper choice for him.
Once he had made his selection the Screen went completely dark. It stayed like this for several moments before a scene appeared before him. He stood in a barren field, before him was a single orc. In the rock's hands was a rather large greatsword. What surprised him was that the orc was not female like he was used to encountering, rather it was a rather large male.
A countdown appeared before him 3.2.1. As the countdown finished the Orc charged towards him. It did not seem to have any sense of strategy, only relying on the brute force of its body to fight.
"Alex analyze the opponent and provide best course of action."
This information was transmitted to him instantly, the orc had yet to even reach him.
Engi followed the instructions flawlessly, leading to the orc falling to the floor. The body disappeared into floating pixels before it even hit the floor.
The next opponent appeared before him. This time it was a rather large being that he did not recognize. In its hand was a rather large wooden club. Before the countdown had even started Wngi was overcome by the intense smell of beast. It was a wicked combination of feet, ass and body odor. Drool fell unceasingly from the creatures mouth.
The countdown soon disappeared and the creature stood there staring at him. A large finger soon went into its nose, as it began digging around for treasure. The creature pulled out a massive booger, seemingly satisfied with its find, it flicked the massive bugger towards Engi.
The booger sped towards him at an astonishing speed, he did not hesitate to roll to the side to avoid it. He also had Alexander begin its analysis.
Engi looked at the beast who was once again digging around in its nostrils. He raised his handgun, sending several shots flying. Five bullets landed directly on the left eye of the beast, causing blood to splatter over its face.
The ogre let out an angry scream as it covered its left eye with its fee hand, charging towards the tiny bug before it. The massive club came crashing down towards Engi, whooshed forward between the monsters legs to avoid the attack. He aimed his pistol at another weak point, this time between the ogres legs. Four bullets landed on the large orbs, causing the ogre to drop his club and drop to his knees covering his injured orbs.
Engi ran around the beast, avoiding the hand that had previously been holding its injured eye that came crashing towards him. He once again began firing at the ogre, firing at the left eye until the ogre disappeared into a flurry of pixels.
Before the next fight could begin Engi exited the Battle simulator. Two victories were not much, and he had only challenged up to level two, a level below him. But this could not be helped, he was after all not a combat class, becoming stronger would be something he had to constantly work at.
