In a room covered in electronic devices a team had gathered. The team was a mixture of the top minds in their perspective fields. General Anderson looked over the team with a look of disappointment. His deep voice seemed to grate through air as he spoke. "You imbeciles. It had already been a month, what do you mean you haven't been able to make contact with him yet?"
A small man stepped forward, he nervously pushed up his glasses as he spoke in a voice barely above a whisper. "Sir the boys body is fine, it is in all ways just like a person in a coma. His conciousness however is gone, the orcs must have found a way to permanently separate the two. By my calculations this is the only reason they had agreed to the trade. The boy is as good as dead..."
As the small man's voice trailed off it was replaced by another voice. This was belonging to a woman of average looks. She had brown hair and was slightly taller than the general. "It is true that we have not been able to establish contact, but we have been able to locate him. He is currently still on the ship that he was spawned on, the ship is moving at high speeds through the vast water world of Oceana. From our understandings of the Orc culture they are likely going to take him to a training center where they will brain wash him into being a orc soldier. "
"Their current rate of travel only leaves us with two weeks until they arrive at their base. From there it will only take them moments to teleport to an orc base. When that moment arrives it will be too late to make contact with the boy."
A third voice began to speak after the woman was done. This voice was robotic, belonging to an Artificial intelligence system. "I have done a thorough analysis on the biys Virtual reality glasses. They have been heavily modified by the boy, and are usuable only by him. They are programmed to work only with his brainwaves. "
"I have analyzed the brain waves from The boys body and was able to hack into the glasses. If the boy is able to come in contact with a system that scans his brainwaves I will be able to make contact. However this is a big if, the chances of success are only at 10%."
The general nodded as he listened to the experts that were gathered in front of him. "Based on the information you have given me, He is alive. We have his location, as well as a way to contact him. We have two weeks to make this happen." The general looked at the Artificial intelligence unit. "Skye you need to attempt contact through his brain waves every 10 minutes. If you make contact Immediately notify me."
He then looked at the rest of the group. "Guy Wilson has contributed greatly to man kind. His sacrifice has gained humanity a resource that we desperately need to survive. It is only right for us to do what we can to save him from he situation we put him in. " He paused before he spoke again, his eyes resting on the casket like pod that Guy's body was currently resting in. "If we are unable to succeed in the following two weeks we will execute him. It is better for him to die a hero than to live as a traitor."
A solemn silence hovered over the team as they listened to the words of the general. The loss of an unknown youth to them was not much, he had already contributed greatly to humanity, his life could be said to be complete. At least that is what the researchers told themselves. However deep in each of their minds they could not help but wonder what they would do in the boys circumstances. He had no choice in the matter, he was treated as pawn, traded away without warning. He was in a strange land, in a strange culture.
A shiver went down each of their spines as they imagined themselves in his shoes. What would they do if they had been abandoned by humanity? If they were forced to survive in a world that was against everything they knew? They began to work with a renewed sense of duty. They felt it was only natural to save this boy, after all they would want someone to save them.
