The combat simulator was something that he would need to practice at. He was after all a mechanic, not a gunslinger, not a swordsman or a rogue. His combat power was all determined by his machines, and his proficiency with them. He did not have some super amazing burst ability, or the the ability to cast spells. At least not yet, with the development of his schematics anything was possible. He could potentially do anything.
This was not necessarily a good thing however. If Engi did not find a path to follow would he not just be a bad jack of all trades? He did not have a specialty like the other classes, at least not combat wise.
"Alexander, Analyze my combat records, find areas of improvement."
Engi nodded to himself as he listened to Alexander's analysis. He had zero combat experience, and little training with firearms. On top of that his body was physically weak. In a fair fight he had almost no chance of winning. Thankfully he did not need to win in a fair fight.
Only 15 minutes had passed, His first dive into the combat simulator had been rather short. His regular training in the morning took an average of two hours, leaving him plenty of time to continue training. He utilized this time to go to the firing range. As he looked at the plethora of firearms before him, he shook his head as his eyes passed over the hand guns and assault rifles. Alexander had stated quite clearly that his physical stats were garbage, both of these weapons required him to get rather close to his opponent.
His eyes fell on a rather large rifle. This was a sniper rifle that had been optimized for High attack power. Unfortunately the weapon had a blaring weakness. The time it took to recover its energy was much higher than a pistol or assault rifle. The Snipernrifle was able to fire a total of 5 shots back to back, but would take 5 minutes to recharge. In essence each shot would take one minute to recharge.
This was a weapon that was designed for a one shot kill, it was effective against low level enemies, but not so much against boss level enemies. When the enemy surpassed a certain level, it would be useless. The weapon was not a popular choice. But for him it was perfect. He had no real combat ability. However he would be able to modify the weapons. When he learned enough he could upgrade the formation on the rifle. He could upgrade the rifle itself.
With this plan in mind he began his practice. The rifle itself functioned similarly to his other firearms, so he had no trouble learning the intricacies of the weapons. Considering he had repaired a few of them he likely had a better understanding than most of the people who actually used them. Unfortunately training with this kind of weapon was slow, and could only fire once every minute on average.
After a moment of thinking he found a suitable work around. Every five minutes he would use the rifle, and in the other time he would continue to practice with a pistol. In this way he would be able to maximize his time with each weapon.
His two hours of practice soon passed and he once again returned to the engine room to do his actual work. He had around 200 repairs to do, after that he had to study the runes and formations. All of this was par for the course for him, part of a routine he had long since gotten used to.
Finally the end of his day had arrived, the part he was looking forward to the most. He would be working on his Schematic for the next few hours. This is something that defined a mechanic. Their first schematic usually showed the direction of study a mechanic would take, and also show their aptitude. Aptitude was not something he was worried about, as he had Alexander to help him. With a smile he opened up his interface and selected Schematic.
