Chapter 1 - Prologue

The new VRMMO Infinite Universe has been released after having been qnnounced 3 years ago. The game was advertised to be the most extensive gaming world in the world, taking part in the infinite universe. The game company G.A.T.E. (Gamers around the Earth) was rumored to have found alien technology on a distant planet, and had incorporated the technology into the ground breaking game they had designed.

The company had the support of the United Federation of Earth, and was told to distribute their game pods and game to every person on earth. In this day and age everything was run by technology, growing food, transportation, even services had been taken control of by robotics. This led to people having an excessive amount of free time. This free time led to delinquency and laziness by the world.

The countries of the world had combined together to find a solution, the solution was handed to them when a member of the civilian board of ecommerce pointed out the endless potential in the virtual worlds that had taken over the civilians lives.

Esports had risen to new heights on this new age, and almost everything was taken over by virtual reality. Classes, work, everything was done in the virtual world now. A person could gain the resources they needed for their family through this virtual world. This led to a plethora of jobs that could not exist before. Even the worst gamer in existence could at least feed themselves by playing these games.

The United Federation of Earth had eventually came together to make a company to lead the new era. They called this company G.A.T.E. It was an open secret that the company was owned by the various world governments, which is why it was league's ahead of its competitors. The games it produced were always top of the line, made with cutting edge technology. The entire world looked forward to the new games that they came out with. Unfortunately, they rarely produced new games, rather continually expanding on the latest game they had produced.

Their newest game, Infinite Universe, had been in production for 20 years. 20 years ago one of the space discovery teams had discovered a signal from a far off planet. They Interpreted the information and began to build the machine that they had decoded through the signal. That signal had ended up being the engine for entrance to a world that the interstellar races of ancient times had discovered.

Through years of research they had found that the engine could be linked to infinite different machines, creating smaller portals that would allow those people to gain entrance to the special world they had discovered. This process had taken a total of 10 years to complete. The following 10nyears had been utilized by The United Federation of Earth to test this new world and the effects on the people who entered.

The effects were less than satisfactory. Those people who directly entered the portal would die without question. The human body was not designed to accommodate the vast amount of energy that existed in that new world(s).

The United Federation of Earth was not discouraged and they continued to test. One day, through a freak accident, the Engine had been linked to a gamer pod that was in a nearby room that had been brought in for testing. The pod had been linked with the engine, the abundant energy in the world created an avatar for the conciousness that had been linked with it.

The avatar was not destined to last for long. The abundant energy in the new world quickly overwhelmed the Avatar that had been created. The owner of the avatar, the unfortunate soldier who had been testing the pod, died as a result of the avatars destruction.

The result was inevitably a failure, however it gave the governments a way to move forward. They continued to test the pods, linking them with the portal as they made various adjustments. Countless lives were lost in the process, but 7 years later they finally found a solution. The Energy was far too much for the human consciousness to adapt to, however if they put up a firewall of sorts the person could survive, adapt, and grow in the new world.

The firewall was not a one fit all, every person had to use a unique firewall, a combination of different mathematical formations to form the firewall. In the game this firewall was referred to as a person's magical formula. The individual mathematical formations were given distinct shapes and called runes. These runes combined to form an elemental affinity, abilities, and growth potential of a person.

Eventually these abilities were classified into different classes. A person had a class and an elemental affinity, these were not up to the person to select, rather they were selected through the brain scan of a person as the mathematical formations were created to allow them passage into the new world.

The majority of people had a poor growth potential to the new world, and could only grow stronger as their minds became more accustomed their bodies in the new world. This led the company to create levels, a simulation of the persons adaption to their body in the new world. The levels were between 1-100. each level representing a percent of adaption. How fast they leveled up depended on their own growth potential. However once a person reached lvl 100 or 100% adaption they would grow stronger and their "class" would evolve into something stronger. This happened every 100 levels. There was no known level cap.

Eventually a person would reach a level where they were completely adapted to the new world and their body and class would stop evolving. This level was variable, and led to different categories of classes. These categories were common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare, and unique. A common class would need to evolve 5 times, and were the most varied classes of them all. Each class up would grant them different potential abilities, making a wide variety of classes. Some were strong some were weak. It all depended on the abilities they picked up and trained. Uncommon had 4, rare had 3 and ultra rare had 2.

Unique classes were already 100% adapted to the new world. Their classes would stay the same regardless of how many level ups they had. Their abilities were stronger than the rest, and would continue to grow stronger, though this difference would become null as soon as the other classes reached their level of adaption. There was only one of each unique class, but the amount of unique classes had no limit.

Each class had the same set of stats, but they all specialized in different stats. These stats were split into 3 categories for each class. They were primary, secondary and auxiliary. The primary stats would level up by 3 each level, the secondary would level up by 2, and the auxiliary would level up by 1. The stats categories could change when a class evolved, though the stats they had recieved up to that point would stay the same.

Infinite universe had several different worlds that a person could start on, these were called starting worlds. The world a person landed on would largely be determined by their class. The conditions of the world varried a lot, these worlds were not necessarily charted, nor friendly towards humanity.

In the three years prior to launch the United Earth Federation had only explored a small portion of the infinite universe, but had found a way to limit the players to only arrive at the areas they had explored. The did this by creating large restriction circles around specific areas, that would not let the avatars of the players proceed past that point, That did not guarantee that a person would arrive in a safe place, or even a place that was safe for their levels. However the Federation had taken precautions.

Using the abundant energy in the infinite universe they had created teleportation formations that would transport a person to a nearby space station. These space stations acted as cities in a game. Once a person arrived at the space stations they would become bound to that station, and if they happened to die they would be reborn at the station. A portion of a person's adaption would be lost in the process, leading to a level reduction between one and ten depending on the level of the person who died.

In the process of exploring the Infinite Universe Humanity had made several allies and enemies. The friendly races they had encountered were Elves, orc, and the demons. The enemies they had encountered were the Angels, the dwarfs, and the. These of course were only the names humanity had given them, not what they called themselves. The names Angels and demons were misleading, the Angels were a race that were highly prejudice against every race other than themselves. The were humanoid in appearance and had large white wings. The specialized in holy magic and swordplay.

The demons were creatures of shadow, they were actually rather friendly, though their appearances were not the prettiest. They specialized in shadow magic.

The elves were humanoid and lived in the forests. The specialized in wind magic and archery. The dwarves lived deep under the earth and specialized in earth and fire magics, they like the Angels hated all races that were not dwarves. Especially the Orcs.

The orcs were extremely war like, and specialized in technology. They created large mechanical weapons that utilized the abundant energy of the Infinite Universe to conquer their enemies. Humanity had reached a truce with them ad they were currently at war with the dwarves.
