Ellery's POV
"Are you seriously kidding me right now? Damn it, I just got this shirt." I mumbled angrily.
"You ruined my shirt and now you're not even helping me get up? Quite the man you are." I said more loudly as I got up from the ground.
"I ruined your shirt? You were the one that walked right into the door when I was opening it. Maybe you should try to be more perceptive."
"So it's my fault? I can't believe this is happening all over again. Didn't you see me coming?" I tried to fan my shirt so it would dry faster but it wasn't working.
"I saved your life and this how you are thanking me? By saying that I was the one that made you fall and then spilled coffee on you?" Charles said coldly.
He saved my life? "Yeah, that's what I would say, saving my life."
"What about me? You destroyed my suit. How are you going to fix it?" Sounding pissed as he tried to blot the coffee out of his shirt and jacket.
"You know what? Take off your jacket," I said gesturing towards his jacket, "I will go and get it dry cleaned for you."
"Fine." He said as he took the jacket off.
As Christian took his jacket off, his biceps bulged through his dress shirt, making it look like the shirt was too small for him. You could clearly see that the guy works out quite often.
Oh my gosh. What am I even thinking about right now?
"Enjoying the view Ms. Aires?" Charles smirked as he passed me his jacket.
I quickly took it out of his hand, "What view?"
He then started to unbutton his dress shirt from the bottom up.
"What do you think you're doing?!" I exclaimed.
"Taking off my shirt? Do you really expect me to wear a wet shirt around?"
"No-no, but you'll be naked!"
"I have an under shirt on." He chuckled deeply. "You won't get to see me get naked that easily."
He handed me the shirt, "I would advise you to be careful, because if you ruin it, it's coming out of your paycheck."
"Yes, Sir." I said, trying hard to hide my annoyance.
"I'll see you on Monday." Charles said as he turned around and walked away
But before he could walk too far away, I retorted, "Aren't you forgetting about something?"
He turned around and said "Forget what?", confusion written on his eyebrows.
"Aren't you gonna pay for my new shirt?" I said, making sure he knew that I just bought the shirt.
He reached into his pocket and got his wallet out. He took out a black card and handed it to me. "Happy now?"
"Thank you for being so thoughtful, Mr. Mercuer. I am satisfied now." As I said that, Cole walked up to us and stood by me.
"Babe, satisfies with what? What are you still doing outside?" he asked "Who is he?", turning towards Charles.
"Nothing. We just bumped into each other. He's the boss at my new job that I told you about."
"What job?"
"The secretary one."
"Oh, that."
"Let me introduce you two. Cole, this is Charles Mercuer, CEO of Mercuer Corp. Mr. Mercuer, this is my boyfriend Cole.
"Nice to meet you."
"Pleasure meeting you too." Said Charles as they shook hands with each other.
"Ms. Aires, unlike you, I have to go to work. And Ms. Aires, make sure to get a new attire for work too. What you wear reflects on my reputation, but what you currently wear is not keeping my reputation in nice standards."
"I'll make sure to. Thank you for that lovely reminder."
"I'm just trying to say that you have to dress the part in order to work for me. I don't have time to argue with you anymore. I will see you at work." And with that, he turned around and walked to his car, got in, and drove away.
"Quite the jerk he is. Come on, let's go in and get something to drink." Coke said.
"Okay. I need something cold to cool down right now." I said as I put the card that Christian gave me in my purse. It was then that I noticed. It was a American Express Centurion card. I scoff, rich people always have to show off don't they. I'm gonna have a blast using this.
