Ellery's POV
"Let go! You're hurting me, Sir!" I said, lying. Charles wasn't really hurting me. I really just didn't want to go shopping for clothes with him.
He turned around abruptly. "You're going to run away if I let you go."
"No, I'm not." I lied. "I'm just not really in the mood."
"If you run away, I will take money off your paycheck." Charles said, smiling devilishly. "This might change your mood, you never know."
"You can't do that!" I yelled, regretting it a second later.
"I actually can. You know why? Because I'm your boss."
"Fine. I'll go with you. Please just let go of me."
Still holding my wrist, he turned around and made his way to a classy looking clothing shop. A clothing shop with clothing that I could never afford. It was a shop that you would quickly notice that it was meant for people with money. The glass walls and doors shone brightly in the morning sunlight.
We got to the huge glass doors and he opened it for us. We got in the air conditioned clothing store and were immediately greeted by a well-dressed worker.
"Good morning," she smiled brightly "my name is Naomi. How can I be of help today?"
"Hello." I said, smiling weakly. I turned around and found myself face to face with Charles' driver. He was standing right in the middle of the doorway, blocking my escape route.
"You have got to be kidding me." I said, and he smiled weakly at me and shrugged. Charles chuckled softly beside me.
I turned around, facing Naomi, and flashed her a smile.
"We need some clothes that would be appropriate for office work." Charles said beside me.
"Of course, sir. Please, follow me." Said Naomi. She turned around and walked away, heading to the back.
"I already have clothes at home, Sir. You don't need to buy me any. This isn't work."
"You're still on company time. If you like, I'll add more money to your paycheck."
I thought about it for a second. A little more money wouldn't hurt. I needed the money anyway.
"Fine." I agreed. "Just let go of my hand."
"Okay." He pulled me and followed Naomi's footsteps. "I will do that later."
We made our way to the back, Naomi, the girl who greeted us earlier was already waiting for us. "Oh good. I thought you had left already."
"What size do you wear?" Charles asked.
"I wear size 4."
"Please get her everything in size 4." He said to the salesperson.
"Every-everything, sir?"
"You heard me. Everything."
"Yes, Sir."
"What do you think you're doing?" I said hotly as Naomi walked away.
"I told you before. I won't let you work as my PA if you're not dressed appropriately. And Ellery, please watch your tone."
"Oh, I'm sorry. But still, you don't need to buy me any of these stuff."
"It's either this or you find a new place of hire."
I clenched my jaw together as my mouth was about to stay something very nasty. What is up with this guy. He threatens me every chance he gets. Cocky much?
I turned around and was about to walk away when he pulls me back suddenly. I forgot that he was still holding my wrist still.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Outside."
"You have to try on the clothes."
"Are you serious? All of them?" Is he joking with me? There has to be at least six to seven rack of business clothes as I looked around the shop in horror.
"Yes."
~~~~~
"This one?" I said, tiredly. I've been trying on dresses, skirts, shirts, and pants nonstop for two hours. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. Something that I do with my boyfriend and best friends, I'm doing it with my boss. There's clearly something wrong with me.
"This one too. Is that the last one?"
"Yes. Thank God."
"Let's go." Charles said, getting up from the sofa.
"Let me change out of this first."
"Forget it. Just wear that." He said, pulling out his phone and looked at it.
Why does he like bossing people around so much? We went to the salesperson at the register who was ringing up everything.
"Thank you for everything today." I smiled apologetically.
"It's my pleasure ma'am. I finished ringing up everything. Will you be paying with cash or card today?"
"Wait a second. You're going to buy everything?" I whispered.
"Card." He said, pulling out his wallet and gave her the card.
"Mr. Mercuer!"
"Give all the stuff to the guy standing at the door when you're done."
"Yes, Sir. Here's your card."
"Let's go." He said, grabbing my wrist again and pulled me towards the door.
"Mr. Mercuer! Can you not hear me?"
"I heard you. I'm just choosing to ignore you."
Wow, what a cocky jerk. Who would've ever thought that a person like him exists.
"Thank you for shopping with us! Please come back soon!" Was all I heard before the doors closed behind us.
