Holly's POV
I picked up a strapless purple dress and put it back down again. How does someone design something so atrocious? The details on the dress was horrible and it didn't even have any body outline either.
I walked over to the pants counter and reached for a pair of skinny dress pants. As I picked it up, my phone slipped out of my hand and dropped under a big circular rack of clothes.
"Damn it!"
I got on my knees, almost laying on the ground. I reached for the phone, I was so close. Then I had an idea. I grabbed a hanger and started to fish it out from underneath the rack.
"Yes!" I said when I finally got it.
"Hey babe."
The voice sounded familiar. I got up and saw Cole standing about ten feet away from me.
"I know baby, I know. I'll be done with her soon. She made me go on a date with her today. At least this will give me a chance to break up with her."
I gasped. Cole turned around but I had already dropped to the floor and hid behind a clothing rack. I turned on my phone and started recording him. You'll never know when this might come in handy.
He is going to break up with Ellery? I'm going to beat his a** if he breaks her heart.
"I'll break up with her as soon as I can. She's a waste of time anyways. She is such a prude. Of course I'm all yours babe, you know that." He said, still unaware that someone was recording his every word. "You're the only one for me."
I shuddered and chills ran down my spine. I knew he was an a**hole, but I didn't know to what extent. As my anger started to elevate, I clenched my fist until my knuckles turn white. No one is going to hurt my Ellery. Especially not a jerk like you.
"I can't wait to see you tonight baby. Wait up for me. And wear something sexy." He said, as he ended the call. I could hear him smirking, what an a**hole.
Cole hung up the phone came back inside the shop. I sneaked around the clothing rack until he went past me. I waited a minute or two before I made my way back to Ellery.
~~~~~
Thoughts filled my head as I thought about what I overheard earlier. Should I tell her or not. If I tell her, she would be extremely hurt.
"Venti Strawberry Shortcake Frappecino!" A barista yelled out.
I went up to the Starbucks counter and grabbed my drink.
We had left the boutique earlier and decided to go to Starbucks. We were all thirsty after all the shopping and commentating.
"Holly!" Someone yelled.
"What?!" I yelled, startled.
"I've been calling your name for at least twenty times now." Ellery said, punching me lightly in the arm.
"Oh, sorry. I was thinking about something."
"You've been so out of it since we left the clothing store. Did something happen?" Asked Ellery, curiously.
"No, it's nothing. Don't worry about it." I replied.
"If you say so. Where to now?"
"Let's go home, I'm beat." I lied.
"Same. Let's go." She said, grabbing my arm and started leading me to the front door of the shopping center. "Boys! Let's go home!"
The guys were trailing behind us, a few feet away. Poor them, they were stuck carrying our shopping bags. I feel so sorry for Ashton for having to put up with my shopping addiction.
I stopped as we were nearing the door leading outside.
"What's wrong?" Ellery asked.
I turned around and said, "Why don't you guys go ahead first, I have to ask Elle about some female things."
"Sure." Cole said.
"I'll go get the car, wait here." Ashton said, being such a gentleman. That's why I love him.
As the guys walked away, "What's wrong? Did something happen? Do you need a pad?" Ellery asked.
I waited until they were out of the door before I said anything. "I have to tell you something. It's really important."
"What is it? You're scaring me." Ellery said with a worried look on her face.
"Cole..."
"What about him?"
"He's going to break up with you."
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." Said Ellery, smiling.
"I'm not joking. I overheard him talking on the phone earlier in the boutique. He's cheating on you and he told the other girl that he's going to break up with you."
"Seriously, Holly?" She said, letting go of my arm. "That's enough. I know you don't like him but you shouldn't make up stuff that isn't true."
"I'm telling the truth. Why won't you believe me?"
"I trusted you. I thought you were my friend." Said Ellery, having a hurt look on her face as she turns around and walked outside.
"Elle. Wait."
