It's been over six months since Bailey woke up in this run down shack, she had been rescued by a handsome young man who was a local farmer just an hour's walk away. He had been caring for her without crossing any boundaries or giving off an off vibe so Bailey had found it comfortable to stay around this time.
In the months she's been here, she hadn't recalled anything however she had had some serious drug withdrawal symptoms and the gentleman brewed her some herbs to relieve the pain and help with the withdrawal symptoms.
Today she woke up feeling particularly refreshed more than ever since she woke up into this new life. Somehow she had this innate feeling that life is really about to begin, little did she know that fate would like to beg otherwise.
She happily hopped into the small passage they used as a kitchen when she heard the kettle boil. She was happily humming and shaking her body while brewing her tea when she suddenly felt dizzy and her vision got blurry. She supported herself against the wall and slid down to the floor.
She looked up and saw a woman that seemed all to familiar but she couldn't bring herself to remember who she was or how she knows her. The beautiful lady smile and said "Oy, you didn't die? Pity, but that's also good. I can make some money out of you" she giggled and produced a syringe out of nowhere and smiled evilly. She sighed and continued "Oh, Bailey, Bailey, Bailey, how can you be so gullible?" Bailey tried to run away from her as she wriggle and fought. Trying to shout but her voice couldn't come out. The lady giggle and said "You going nowhere, you so severely injured I almost feel sorry for you" she pulled a pitiful face then shrugged and sighed as she plunged the needle into Bailey's neck. Bailey tried again and again to move and talk to no avail until she plunged into darkness.
It was at sunset when a happy young man drenched in dirt and filth jogged into the house holding boxes of food with a smile on his face, joy evident all throughout his body. It's been a month since the young lady in his shack showed any withdrawal symptoms so it was sufficed to say she had been healed - drug free. So when he got his pay sack, he went to buy the most expensive food and snacks to have a romantic dinner with her. He had decided, tonight he will confess his feelings for her and they will start their new lives. Even though he knows she couldn't remember who she was, it was fine. They could start a new, clean slate, life. It was even better this way.
He smile dropped when he realized the lights where not on when he came in the shack. "Sweetness!" that was the name he called her with since she didn't know her identity. When he didn't hear a response he started panicking and ran into the bedroom but couldn't find her. He ran into the kitchen area and found her cramped on the floor tightly tucked between the cupboard and the wall. Their shack was that small. On the stove, their paraffin stove looked like it ran out of paraffin and the kettle had ran out of water, probably the water boiled into evaporation.
He quickly ran to her and picked her up with a shaking voice he kept calling her. When he squeezed her out of the kitchen she woke up groggily and looked around. She couldn't believe it when she found herself in the arms of David Snyman. "David?" she called out carefully as if afraid he'd disappear if she called out too loudly. David sighed a relief and put her on the chair as he felt her temperature and pulse as he asked her what happened. Bailey took time to recall what happened and said in a weak voice "I was making tea, then I started feeling dizzy..." her voice was getting softer and softer
"I think..." she looked up to David and said with uncertainty "I think I had a memory"
