Bailey Harper couldn't keep herself from shivering, her teeth shuddering uncontrollably. Her skin pale and her beautiful green eyes rimmed with red. However she couldn't stop moving, she couldn't stop herself from walking. She needed to find shelter, to find help. She was in the middle of nowhere with no humanity in sight. She forged through the forest till she found an old unmaintained road.
She kept walking with no focus or strength, her hands swaying from side to side, she only kept moving on sheer adrenaline. And that too had no guarantee on how long it will last. But she couldn't give up now. She had to keep moving. Her conscious was drifting and kept biting her lip to let the pain reel her back.
She had been through a lot these past few days and the last six hours have been the worst. After having woken up with amnesia in a strange island, she had used all will she could master to get better real fast so she could find a way out of that place. But when Claw came back to the island, and said they would get married the following day she knew she couldn't go through with it. She knew she had to get out of there as quick as lightning. She used all her wits and strength to come up and go through with the plan.
Claw had relaxed his guard around her due to her obedience and memory loss. So when she went roaming around the castle she had found a Claw's laptop on his desk and almost on reflex she flipped it open and muscle memory reeled her to hack the laptop without a glitch. She was shocked at her own ability.
After doing a cursory search through his files and apps, she found an app that connected to his security system. She felt like she hit a jackpot. She stood up quickly and shut the door and switched off the lights.
Coming back to the laptop she simply replaced all cameras with moving pictures of the scenes on the ground and quickly ran out. Making sure to avoid any guards she walked swiftly to the front door. A guard stood by the door and her heart thumped, she quickly recovered and spoke as nonchalantly as possible "I'm just gonna take a walk throughout the island and breathe in some fresh air before the rain pours." She quickly continued when she saw he was about to say something "You don't need to get a bodyguard I feel healthy" she continued as she jogged on one spot to prove it. The guard chuckled lightly and instantly let her go.
She walked quickly as time was limited before the surveillance guards notice something wrong. And she hid behind a helicopter when she saw some men coming. She listened in their conversation trying to figure out which helicopter was about to leave. She got under the helicopter and held tightly on the upper steels of the legs, fortunately for her no one noticed anything as heavy rain was about to pour and they were in a hurry to carefully look at anything. Claw gave them their last orders and the helicopter set off.
She clung on the feet of the helicopter with all her might like it was the last thing she'll ever hold. When the helicopter flew over the end of the ocean on the other side of the island, she knew she was on homeground. She just felt it in her gut like it was calling unto her. The helicopter started flying at a lower altitude as it started to drizzle not yet raining and she took this new altitude as an opportunity to jump off. She closed her eyes shut, held her breath and let go, letting herself free fall into the sea.
The surface of the water slapped her so hard she felt a sting of tears surface but her instinct told her to immediately start kicking against the water swimming up to shore. When she got out the ocean onto the soft sand of the sea she flopped down on the ground and wept. For the first time since she woke up, she cried like a baby. Further depleting her energy with the outflow of tears, but she didn't care, she just wanted to cry her lungs out with no restraint.
Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going? What happened to me? Who am I? These were the questions she kept shouting to no one in particular as she wept. She cried so hard she lost consciousness. When she woke up again the sun had risen and she knew it was a new day. She talked herself into living, she talked herself into finding out who she is, she talked to herself as she lay there siring her will and mind to get up and start moving.
After walking for what seemed like a lifetime with no hope in sight, her legs finally gave way. She fell on the ground with a thud, gave up her consciousness and fell into the abyss of dark nothingness.
