Heavy rain shuddered the whole city with heavy lighting and thunder. All helicopters were grounded so Marcellus King and Bruce Mayfield with his group couldn't move. Marcel was livid he could kill God at that moment, or whatever deity responsible for rain at that hour. He couldn't wait to take back his wife, to hold her in his arms and to protect her tightly. He could already feel his skin itching at the thought of having her perfect body fitting perfectly in his, he swore he would never let go of her again.
It had been raining heavily for seven hours already and he couldn't sit idly anymore, the rain eventually subsided and Marcel got his troop moving before it even stopped altogether.
The sun had started kissing the sky by the time fifteen helicopters landed around the boundaries of the island, ruffling the sea waves higher.
Clifton 'Claw' Goliath felt like his soul had left his body, he felt a rush of multiple emotions crushing into him. He had searched the whole island for the whole night and couldn't find his beloved. He was angry, confused, at loss, even felt a pang of loneliness and emptiness he hadn't felt before. He was close... So close to getting the life he'd always wanted with his beloved. He had tasted happiness and it ripped him apart to suddenly loose it.
The hardest pain, he realized, was not having what you wanted; rather, it was having what you want then having to loose it. He couldn't come to himself even when his men called out him loudly warning him about Marcel's arrival. He couldn't hear anything, couldn't see anything. He tried controlling his breathe but couldn't, at that moment his subordinates were not sure if they saw a teardrop or if it was the sweat dripping on his face.
She was just there one moment, laughing and having dinner with him. Then the next moment, she wasn't. How can she just disappear? This was an island, she couldn't have just took a stroll and got lost, that's why he opted for an island to restart their lives. How can she just not be there? He had spent the whole night searching for her, every corner, in the water, he even checked under the tables. She just wasn't there.
His IT guy came in the room sweating buckets. "It's confirmed that the surveillance was hacked, the hacker is good I couldn't recover it. It has been masked not to recognize her face. So all men in the surveillance were replaced by our team in the lab. I just can't figure it out" He said this all in one breathe careful not to misspeak or misinform.
"So she might be alive, abducted by someone?" Garry Mayson, Claw's right hand man, asked carefully. Claw stood up abruptly and stared at the IT guy. There was finally hope and he'd run with it, as long as the only option isn't that she drown in the sea and got washed away by the waves. The IT guy nodded and before he could say anything there was a loud sound of a bomb outside and the ground shook.
That's when Claw noticed there was a rapid sound of gunshots outside. He rushed out to see his lab in flames. He looked around and locked eyes with Marcel. Marcel's heart hung when he noticed Claw's red-rimmed eyes. He knew Claw wasn't an emotional man, something had to have happened to have this man's emotions settle in his eyes.
"My wife. Bring her" Marcel roared. Claw took a deep silent breath before he looked at Marcel with an apology in his eyes "I don't know where she is. Someone took her"
Marcel didn't understand what he just heard, wouldn't understand what he just heard. He wanted his wife, needed his wife. How can she not be here when the satellite surveillance he saw showed her jogging these grounds just yesterday?
