CHINKY's POV
We are back to our working place after one long week of vacation and honeymoon with my husband--I mean my Boss. The second day of our stay at Boracay was the best because we had our "me" time.
I had my foodtrip, window shopping, had visited some tourist spots and many more while my devil husband did swimming and stuffs, I didn't care anyway.
I went back to the company one day ahead with Chrys. He said to some acquiantances that he flew to America on vacation, even though nobody asked about it, he seemed so guilty. Tssh!
And these people are just after their "pasalubong", I brought mangoes and some native delicacies from that place, and also I bought "tupig and alamang" which are the specialties of Pangasinan. Chrysler said that he would throw away my "pasalubongs" especially my "alamang" because it smelled like hell. But of course I didn't allow it.
I started to work again. Oh, my... I've missed my pencil and sketchpad. And because our Company requires designs for Kid's Christmas Collections, we individually sketch our own concepts.
I drew a cute red with a hood dress for little girls. I also draw a boy version of the same one I drew for the girls. Then after we drew, the department head took our sketches one by one.
The Company has two different fashion designing teams; the one is under Ma'am Lucila and the other is under Ma'am Mary Grace.
Whichever team gets more votes on the committee, he or she will win and create the kid's Christmas Collection. My sketch was simple but it would catch someone's attention.
After my work, I went home first to Chrys' condo, because I will prepare our dinner! I'm going to be a great housewife from now on. All women must know some household chores. Somehow I want to be a responsible wife.
I COOKED Bicol express, because I saw it in the advertisement in the TV. Also I suddenly want to eat green mango dip with "alamang".
I hid that smelly one in the corner of Chrys' refrigerator, for him not to be seen or threw away. And I also cooked the home-made fried chicken, hia super favorite.
"Buweeeh!" Hey, I feel like I'm suddenly nauseous! "Buwehh!" I was really nauseous. Why does it seem like I'm suddenly obsessed with sour fruits and some weird combinations? "Buweeehhh!" aaah, I ended up vomiting in the sink.
Did I eat some bad food, lately? And before, I don't like eating chicken but I'm loving it since today. I put a lot of ketchup and mayonaise.
And because I got to love those things. I don't understand myself anymore. The other day, I went to Jollibee and ordered; N1, N2, C1, C2, and when it arrived, I didn't like it anymore. Weird!
"Buweeeeh!" I vomited again.
Suddenly I heard a doorbell ring. Probably not Chrys, because he has his own key, then he also knows his condo lock password.
And I didn't expect to see -Grandma Yna. I quickly opened the door and let her in immediately.
"Hello hija, how are you? How was your honeymoon? How was your day? " asked by Grandma.
"I'm okay — buweeeeh—" I was suddenly nauseous, so I quickly ran to the sink, until I feel like there's a hand behind my back.
"Oh my God! I think we need to celebrate! "I heard Grandma Yna's happy voice again.
What? Celebrate? Is that how much I really like vinegar? Waaah, sometimes it's also funny 'don't Lola eh.
"Buweeehh .."
"Wow! Hija, I'm so happy for you. You just didn't know how much you make me happy." Grandma asked, hugging me tightly.
"What did I do?" I could not understand the question.
Grandma laughed. "You're pregnant!"
"W-What?!" I was shocked to hear for her assessment. Am I pregnant? My eyes widened . My God! I'm Pregnant! Oh really? Seriously? "Am I pregnant?" I repeated.
Maybe I just ate something bad. Maybe someone was just jealous of me so I was being cursed.
"When was the last time you had your monthly period?" Grandma Yna asked.
Hmmm... oops! I forgot!
"Well, I'll be having my period one of these days, Grandma." I guaranteed.
"Are you sure? Here are the signs and symptoms of being pregnant: she feels fatigue daily even when she's not doing anything. Her sensation is nauseous or sensitive. She then took a few minutes back to CR to urinate. Has mood swings and weight gain. Then she experienced the craving for foods."Grandma's long explanation.
Wait! All of these have been my experience lately! I was so tired even though I was not moving at all. I always feel nauseous, especially when I smell Tanya's scent.
And to top it all, I always seem to crave a meal and when I see it, I don't want it anymore. Also thw weird food combinations I like. Pickles with ketchup. Sweet with salty ingredients. Clover chips cheese flavor dip in tuyomansi sauce.
"What now?" Grandma asked. I can't believe it because I really feel all that. And I was surprised when she suddenly danced and hugged me. "May loving Apo is now officially a Daddy! Yes!" Said Grandma happily. No way! It is not yet confirmed! "Tomorrow we're going to a ob-gyne to make sure you're pregnant!" Grandma said.
She then helped me prepare our dinner. About five minutes later, Chrys arrived looking so stressed.
"Grandson, we have good news for you!" Grandma happily greeted Chrys.
Okay, is that really a good news for Chrys? Couldn't he just die suddenly when he found out I was pregnant and he was the Father?
"Your wife is pregnant! You're going to be a daddy! "Grandma happily announced as she embraced Chrys who seemed to have come to his senses.
Devastation was written all over his face. It seems that their company has lost several billion. I bit my lower lip, as if I felt sorry for him. He never dreamed of marrying someone like me — I know and feel it, but now we will be having our baby.
I do feel sorry for him and for myself too! I also wanted to marry the man who will value me. I dreamed of marrying a kind-hearted man, not a devil-like man!
"Hey, don't you have anything to say?" Grandma asked him, who suddenly became disabled and lost his ability to speak.
"Grandma, maybe he's just surprised, let's just let him—"
"S-She's pregant?" He suddenly snapped back.
"Yes hijo! It's true! In fact, I will be accompanying her tomorrow for a check up. "
Chrys paused briefly, before he could speak again. "I'm sorry, but I have an important meeting with new clients tomorrow." he replied.
Okay fine! If he doesn't want to, don't force him! I don't know why some part of me was excited, ironic!
But now, while looking at him, the more I feel like he doesn't really like me, he seems to be just too much pressure, because of his Grandma. It felt like something was hurting my heart.
"Okay, I still need to visit my friends, to announce the good news, bye hija," Grandma kissed my cheek and hugged me tightly. "Bye hijo," he mumbled to his grandson, before finally leaving the condo.
Chrys was still silent. A few minutes later he was walking into his room, but I quickly moved to hold him in his arms. And I don't know why I did it!
"Wait a minute!" I said. He turned his attention to me. "We'll be having our dinner, soon, and I cooked your favorite."
"I'm still full, I'm going to sleep." He replied, and he turned away.
Whoa! There is a miracle and he is now rejecting the chicken.
"Just a moment!" I said, before he went into his room, "Is something wrong?" Waaah, I don't know why that's the question I asked. Maybe I'm curious too. I just felt so weird.
"I'm sorry." He replied. "What should have happened to us that night, should not have happened. I thought you were Angela, the love of my life." He added, but he still turned away.
"Me too-"
"But don't worry, I can still be the father of your baby," he just went in.
What is that again? I can still be the father of your baby? Then, what happened to us that night shouldn't have happened, because he thought I was Angela? Was he referring to his ex-gf? But it's the same for me, I mean, I thought he's Geun Suk oppa too!
This is crazy! I couldn't wait for him to come out, so, I just ate alone, and I ate everything I and Grandma had cooked.
CHRYSLER's POV
"Grandson, we have good news for you!" Grandma greeted me warmly. "Your wife is pregnant! You're going to be a daddy!" She hugged me tightly.
When I heard Grandma say that, I felt like I was standing in awe of the shock. Yeah, I should have been prepared for such news because something happened to Chinky and me, but I didn't know what to say and do.
Grandma looked so happy and I should be happy too because I was going to have a little version — but why couldn't I? But with that question, I have another answer. It was because she wasn't Angela. Argh! My head is starting to throb in pain.
