CHINKY's POV
"Man, wait for me!" God! I am extremely exhausted and I never ran like this before and it was quite a distance, maybe it's already a kilometer away. My legs were really sore, so, I just sat on the safe road because of exhaustion!
"Hey miss, are you okay?" I heard someone speak after that beep-beep thingy.
I quickly turned to the person who was talking to me and my eyes twinkled when I saw that person! I suddenly asked myself if am I in heaven? Why am I suddenly seeing a handsome angel now?
I heard the car door open, but as I was startled by that handsome creature, I didn't realize he was approaching me.
"Miss?" I heard him say.
If he had not snapped before me, I would never have been aware of his presence infront of me. Day dreaming has always been my habit. lately.
I was surrounded by cute and handsome creatures around me. My eyes blinked several times I saw him offered his hand in front of me. He helped me get up from where I was seating..
"Are you okay? I thought you collapsed, so I stopped the car quickly. " he said. I smiled secretly, this man is gentle.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I have to chase the people I was chasing." And I almost forgot, Teddy the bear of Chrys! "I need a help, can you please drive me to follow that garbage truck earlier?"
"Garbage truck?"
I nodded. "Chrysler's teddy bear is in there--" Oops! I almost slipped, I wouldn't reveal Chrys' secret for having a big teddy bear or else he would punish me.
"You mean, you're teddy bear is in the truck?" he asked. I nodded several times.
He chuckled, so, I stared at him, he is really so handsome but I don't have the time to appreciate this man. I need to get teddy from that truck! And I'm already late at work too!
"Let's go!" Then I pulled him closer to his car. I even went in first and he obeyed immediately.
"Okay, where did that truck go?" he asked.
I pointed to the North and since his car was in the south position, he turned around, then quickly chase the truck i was talking.
In fact, I don't know if he's a good or bad person but I just got in his car. He can't be a bad guy and he was handsome too, so, i think he was kind. His angelic face looks just like Chrysler's — so it's impossible.
"Why is that teddy bear so important to you? Is it because special someone gave it to you?" he asked. Wait! I didn't know his name yet.
"Uhm, yeah." I just answered.
"By the way, I'm Sean Elixir, can you call me Elixir, and you are?" he introduced himself, I briefly nodded.
"I'm Chinky."
"Cute." He chuckled. Cute? Which one - me or my name? He run his car fast but with restrictions.
"Gosh! That was the truck!" I pointed at the big car few meters away.
"Alright!" he said, then he quickly followed the truck.
After fifteen minutes we were able to recover the teddy bear. I took a sighed of relief. I got rid of the plastic wrap on the big stuffed toy because it was dirty.
We were in the car again and he said he would take me back to the condo. I was lucky enough to meet such a handsome and good man.
We also quickly got to the front of the gate into the condo, and I got out of his car immediately and he followed.
I smiled at him. "Thank you, Elixir. You're the superhero of this teddy bear. "
He smiled. "At your service. And that's exactly what my name implies — I'm a magical cure. Whoever needs help, I'm like a Superman — ready to help. " God! He is so perfect!
"I need to go, thanks and good bye!" I said.
"See you next time, cutie." Then he stooped down a bit because he was tall and had my cheeks squeezed. I was worried because his face was close to my face. He waved at me to say goodbye, I just nodded and smiled a bit.
Alright, it's past eight o'clock and I'm late. I don't wanna go along with Chrys because we might be a hot topic in the company if they saw us together and I don't want that!
Chrys was about to leave the condo to get to work, when I got inside.
"Are you leaving? Wait, I didn't cook your breakfast yet..." But instead of looking at me, he turned his attention to the teddy bear, which was even bigger to me.
"Where did you get that?" he wrinkled his forehead.
"Uhm, I just picked it up on the way somewhere, and it would be such a waste if I will let it— "
"Throw that thing away! I don't want to see that inside my condo! " he said angrily.
"What? Wait! You already threw this away and it's mine now— "
"I said throw that thing away!"
"No! How can I throw this toy when it's bigger and heavier than me? Hello!" I said sarcastically. But his forehead only got worse.
"Give it to me!" then he held the bear but I was stubborn. I run kilometres away just to save this teddy bear, then he would just throw it away again? Never!
"No! I've already picked it up, so it's mine! " He didn't argue anymore. Yey! I win!
However, his face saddened. "I want to forget her! And because of that thing, I'm having a hard time again. So please! " he begged. I was surprised to see him like that. "Fine! If you do not want to throw that away, hide it in a place I will never see." That's it and he left.
I was left standing as he walked away. So he's been a little sad lately because he's trying to forget the person he's been in love with.
My thoughts flew when my stomach complaint. Baby and I are hungry.
ELIXIR's POV
Hmmmm.... It's really nice to be back home. I missed the Philippines; the beautiful places, my friends, of course Grandma Yna and my cousin I have never seen and of course the pollution. I laughed at the last thing I said.
I have also been in the States for about five years, where I graduated college with a Business Management course and got a job. I've missed everyone here!
I smiled as I remembered the cute girl who had just slipped out of the way earlier. I thought she collapsed, but she was just tired from running to chase after that garbage truck, where her teddy bear was. She looked so funny and cute.
I also have missed Grandma's mansion. that's where I'll be staying for now, while I'm on vacation. And never mind my paperworks in the States, Mom had given me five months vacation leave with the company, because she knew I had a lot to do here in the Philippines.
Grandma said that i need to help my cousin's company for the meantime. And I am not worried for Mom in handling the Legacy State branch, because her younger sister Tita Kristy is with her.
And my Dad? He already passed away, few years ago because of an illness and I missed him too. Yeah, welcome back to the Philippines, Elixir!
CHINKY's POV
Tanya and the others had invited me to hang out together but I refused. Besides learning from the past and forgiving them, I can't wander and drink anymore, because I'm going to have a baby.
When I arrived at the Condo, I took a bathe first before preparing the dinner. Lately I've been a fan of cooking.
Suddenly, I woud like to eat orange fruit dipped in a powdered milk. I sighed. My pregnancy is kinda weird. But still, I prepared and ate the orange dipped in a powdered milk.
Hmmm... I thought about baking a cake, remembering that Chrys had no cake last night. Then I didn't even give my gift to him because I was a bit embarrassed.
What if he didn't accept it? He is a high standard man and I wasn't sure about the five thousand worth of necklace. But didn't they say 'it's the thought that counts?' While he is not yet around, I will bake first to surprise him. This whole thing is new to me.
I'm in the kitchen to start baking and after an hour, I finished it already! Awesome! This is the first time i baked a cake.
I pulled the cake bread out of the oven. I was shocked when I saw the outcome. Why is it toasted? The bread was hard. Owemji! I carefully followed the instructions on how to bake a cake but it was a failure.
The bread can be used as a stone and throw it to the weird dog at the other condo. If I were to do it again, it will never be on time because Chrys might just appear any minute. I sighed. No choice.
I wrapped the whole loaf with thick icing to cover the burnt, and then added small chocolates and strawberries to the tops and around it. I'm not going to feed it to him, I'm just going to put some candle to make him blow it.
After a while I heard the front door open. He's coming! I quickly turned off the light here in the kitchen for him to be lit up later for surprise!
CHRYSLER'S POV
The house is quite today unlike the previous days whenever she's around. I look anywhere. Where's Chinky? Wait, why am I looking for her?
I was about to enter my room when my stomach complaint. I'm hungry! I went inside the kitchen to look for something to eat. When I switched on the light...
"Happy birthday!"
My heartbeat almost stopped because of the sudden appearance of anyone in front of me. Damn! I almost shout out loud.
And again I was surprised to see Chinky's face so close to me, while carrying a cake with a candle.
"You scared the hell out of me!" I said angrily. But she just ignored my words, as she insisted to blow the candle in front me.
"Blow the candle and make a wish!" she commands.
What? Am I kid? I've never done this before, wait, I've done it when Mommy and Daddy were still alive. This whole thing reminds me of my parents.
"Hurry up!" she said, so I quickly blew the candle and walked straight into the dining chair.
"You have never wished!"
"I'm not a child anymore!" I complained, but she suddenly turned to face me.
I was just flown out of surrender, so I just clapped my hands and wished. As I opened my eyes, I saw a small box in front of me.
"What is that?"
She smiled. "A gift."
"From whom?"
CHINKY's POV
"From whom?" Of course,me! To whom else? But maybe when I tell him that it was from me, he might not accept it.
"Before I will accept it, I must know who it is from!" he said again.
"From m—"
"Don't tell me, you prepared this gift for me?" he grinned devilishly. So I have a second thought if I tell the truth.
"N-No, of course not, this gift was from Angela!" What the hell did i say that? Argh!
I gave him the little box containing the necklace and sat down next to him. I started eating the dinner I prepared. When I turned to look at him, i wondered why he was like being bitten by a snake because he wasn't moving, he was just staring at the little box I gave him. I sighed.
"I-Is this really from Angela? How? Why?" he asked softly.
He immediately believed that it was from Angela. I could see that his eyes were shining, with much happiness and hope. He smiled widely.
Wow! I saw him smile! Now, how can I say that the gift was not really from Angela? How can I tell him that it's really from me? He might just cry!
"Thank you! Thank you for giving me this gift on behalf of her. "
Then he looked at me with a smile on his lips. My heart started to thump again! But some part of it saddened because of the thought that he was super happy because of Angela. And for the first time I heard him say thank you and he was happy again. And that's all because of Angela.
"Yeah, sure." That's all I have to answer.
I didn't want to ruin his moment. I just have to keep it as a secret. As I was busy eating again, I was surprised to find that he quickly held the cake in front of him and then tried to cut a piece! Oh my! I would have warned him not to eat it, but it was too late.
"Hmm... Yummy! "
Yummy? Is he taking a prohibited drug? What happened to his taste buds? Aside from the bread was like a stone, it was also bitter like a black coffee. He had gone crazy because of his happiness in love. Tsk Tsk ..
"Taste it!" he even held out the fork he was holding which had a piece of cake. Ew. "C'mon! Taste it! It's yummy! " I shook my head, stood up and left.
