Chereads / I was summoned by a goddess to play hero / Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Skills

Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Skills

The representative battle of the gods happening in Evergreen planet was meant to determine who will be the supreme divine being of this world. Instead of gods fighting among themselves, they choose a champion from Earth and whoever unifies the divided kingdom under one banner wins the battle.

In order to ensure that there will be fairness during the battle, or to avoid gods giving OP skills to their chosen champion, a so-called "balancing system" exists. The rules of the game are as follows:

1.       Every god participating in the war can only summon one champion from earth.

2.       The chosen champion must be alive and between the ages 18-30 from a determined period (2030).

3.       The champion can only have a maximum of 4 skills.

4.       Skills shall be activated by enchantment. This also means that providing stronger skills will require longer chanting while quick cast skills will have shorter chanting but minimal damage.

5.       Utility skills/skills that do not cause damage may be given shorter chanting but AOE skills such as area or ally heals and buffs will have longer cast time.

6.       Anything arising from the champion and the god's contract cannot be used by the people of Evergreen.

7.       Passive skills are considered as 2 points, champions may be limited to have only one, or a minimum of 3 skills. Option 1: (1 passive and 2 active skills) Option 2(4 active skills)

8.       There will be no further contact between the gods and their champions once the battle commences.

9.       There will be no interference among the gods until the battle ends.

10.   The overseers of the battle will be Ares(god of war), Salamander (god of the dragons) and Titania(goddess of chaos light).

Joe: "hmmmmmm…. Looking at the rules of this battle, it like playing a pvp rpg." Rubbing his chin, looking at loss at what could give him the upper hand.

Freyah: "You are right!" Starry eyes suddenly appeared in Freyah.

Joe: "I don't trust that look. It looks stupid… what do you have in mind?" He is feeling bothered that Freyah might just actually try to force to copy skills from games like D#TA or L*L.

Freyah: "How about you copy a particular skill set from a game! You know, something you are accustomed to already…"

Joe: "Sigh... haven't you read, activation will be using chants! What if the skillset suddenly provided me with a very long chant just to activate huh?????"

True enough, skills such as "Meteor Storm" will require a total of 1000 words just for activation.

After a long silence, Joe started writing on a piece of paper he found inside the room where Freyah took him.

Joe: "Give me this…" A big smile was on his face.

Freyah: "Let me see…" After reading the note, "Are you sure about this? This seems plausible but, it winning this battle requires more than just this you know…."

Joe: "That will be fine. I'll handle whatever is lacking. Using this, there will be short chanting you know."

After careful consideration, Freyah agreed on it.

Freyah: "OK. Let's do with this… After I give you the skills, you will be automatically taken into Evergreen. You will be summoned in a church under the banner of a kingdom known as Albarez. It's a weak kingdom, because I'm a lesser goddess, but if you win this, things will change for sure."

Joe: "ok… ok… get on with it. "

Freyah: "... Goodluck champion, now I bestow you your skills, go and save Evergreen under my name…"

Then a light swallowed up Joe and sent to him to his next journey.
