Chereads / The Wolf and her Alien / Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

"That was so close." I said to Caylee. "I thought we were going to get caught when he saw me run past. If I hadn't smelled him when I did."

"I doubt he would have done anything but trying to explain who you are and why your no longer a wolf is going to be interesting."

"Im the one that is going to have to explain it. I don't know what your worried about."

Caylee laughed and shook her head at me. "You should see your face. The indignant look on a wolf is funny. I never realized how many expressions a wolf actually has until I look at yours." She continues to laugh.

"I don't see how this is funny. Wait until you have to change and then I'm going to make fun of you." I stick my tongue out at her but it just makes her laugh harder. She is laughing so hard she stops to grab her side.

De'rax turns around to look at us. Caylee is laughing so hard she can barely talk." I'm sorry lord general. Kyra stuck her tongue out at me and it was just the funniest thing."

He smiles. "What does that look like?"

I give him a incredulous look. I cannot believe he just asked that. He wants me to stick my tongue out at him. Wait... Is this a trick?

He waits expectantly. I sigh. Then stick my tongue out.

He bursts into laughter like Caylee only louder. Now I have two of them laughing. I huff and stomp my way back to the house with the laughing hyenas following.

They are still laughing when we reach the front door. Je'zar opens the door and steps out raising a brow at the two hyenas.

"Lord general? Are you alright? I havent heard you laugh like that in a long time."

De'rax wipes his eyes and answers."I am fine Je'zar just a little joke at Kyras expense."

I snort lift my head walking to the house and up the stairs to my room. I was tired as much as I was annoyed with their laughter.

I climbed on the bed and layed down face the balcony doors. I had yet to explore that but I was just too tired to move.

I was shaken awake a number of hours later. I opened my eyes to see Caylee staring at me.

"I brought you dinner. Lord General thought you would be to mad at him to eat in the dinning room. I figured you were sleeping. I didn't tell him that shifting back and forth takes a lot of energy."

She was correct on that. He didn't need to know. I sat up and looked out the window. It was dark already. How long had I slept?

I yawned and hopped off the bed heading toward the bathroom. Caylee watched me go in and went to the main door to keep a look out while I shifted and used the facilities then shifted back.

I wandered back out a few minutes later. Going towards the smell of meat I found it on the table by the fireplace. Scarfing it down like it was the last meal I would ever get I didn't realize how hungry I was. I had slept straight through lunch. Man not shifting as often as I used to took a lot out of me. Caylee came and sat beside me as I finished licking the plate.

"I need to make a day where I shift. I can feel my wolf hounding me but I haven't had a chance. Is there any chance you could run with me tomorrow? I don't know what else to do."

"Sure I have no problem with that. In fact it will be like old times. Except we are no longer on earth... Running from aunt Elaine."

Caylee shakes her head a dismal look on her face as we remember. "Maybe the lord general will let us go back and see our family?"

"I don't know Caylee. When the time is right we will have to ask him. But I will have a hard time explaining how I'm related to you if he doesn't know what I am."

"Oh true. I didn't think of that Kyra I'm sorry. I just really wanted to see my mom and dad." She starts crying and then I start. That is what De'rax walked into a few minutes later.

"What is going on in here? Are you two alright?"

"We are fine. Just a little homesick."

He stops for a second. Then nods his head like he had an internal conversation with himself. "I could take you back to see your families. If you would like?"

"Really? You mean it?" Caylee jumps up clapping her hands like a little kid. I guess I never realized how much she loved her parents.

"Yes. But it will be just a bit more. At least until I get everything settled. Since I have that trip the day after tomorrow I have to go on. Once Kyra and I get back from that we will go."
