"First Few Days in Awei" °•○●

As Ren looked at the bag in his hand after shopping, he began to feel the need for more. Better food, drinks that he can't afford yet, special desserts and special products that support energy meditations...

If he wanted to get stronger very quickly and travel the world he lived in, he needed this kind of extra stuff. He also had to eat as well as possible and obtain as many energy pills as possible if he wanted to improve his level as soon as possible. Energy tablets were indispensable.

He left the Arc and walked home on the road where he was no longer as afraid as he used to be. There were people who were looking amongst themselves and glaring at Ren, as usual on the road. But this time, the voice of one of the talkers was a little louder. Confident that the boy's word was "Ezra", Ren quickened his pace.

As he entered the house and opened the package he had bought, a possibility occurred to him that he had not thought of before. What if Ezra is the reason no one messed with him!

Not knowing how much power the Inner Disciples had over the outer lands, Ren was still inwardly uneasy. Even though he understood that the girl was trying to help, it was wrong to accept free help when Ren hadn't done anything to deserve it.

"I'm not selling my body to have a little more freedom in this school. Or, should I think about it? Hahaha..."

He was determined to pay Ezra to pay off the debt when he had the chance.

...

A day has passed.

He began to read the book on meridians and energy channels. The rest of the time he was either sleeping or meditating. He didn't show much improvement in either of them on the first day, but he realized that he could now draw energy for about thirty minutes nonstop.

While he thought that the new time limit would change by a minute or two after leveling up, the increase of ten minutes also showed that his dantian was at least 50% or 100% stronger than before.

By the second day, he had memorized the names of the main energy channels in his body and started to meditate much faster with the help of his new limit. Although the duration was still 30 minutes, unlike the first day, the amount of energy he drew increased every second.

The third and fourth days passed with the same things without much change. Every now and then he would go outside to get some fresh air, or go to the Arc for fruit and come home right away. Only once did he notice a place that looked like a farm from afar. But he wasn't crazy enough to go up there alone and find out what happens.

A single misstep by a second-level wizard in this environment could be dangerous, even if he was under Ezra's protection. Ren was determined to not take any more risks for a while.

...

Life was sweet for Ren. Although he was very small, he had grown up with strict discipline. So without realizing it, he was very careful thanks to the Gan Clan's strict training policy.

Anyone his age had already gone out, approached people, and gotten into a lot of trouble trying to socialize. But Ren had been learning to be mindful ever since he started talking.

The number of times he heard the phrase "You should never trust anyone in business" was perhaps hundreds. He learned that people have a dark side by watching people who steal, murder or rape be executed within the clan.

The Gan Clan was a place where even slaves and workers lived on good terms. But the greatest thing required in return was "discipline." (Ren grew up in a place with German discipline xd)

But there was another aspect that made him different even from the other kids in the Gan Clan. For example, even Sirius would be in trouble if he came to this school. And that's because Ren, unlike the other kids, grew up without friends!

Ren had gotten so used to being alone that he found it more comfortable, safe, and peaceful now.

Children who are popular like Sirius Gan or used to living in a group of friends like Thon Gan, they would have already explored school. And unlike Ren they would wander around or try to find a good friend among such untrustworthy people with hopeful thoughts.

Ren did not approach anyone, did not give anyone a chance, and did not seek good friends. Not even talking to a single person for months didn't matter.

He didn't give a damn about sociality!

...

On the fifth day, now feeling strange contractions from his dantian, Ren had some hope, but actually thought that he was still far from the third level. Even those who were normally considered the most talented took several months to introspect at the second level. According to Ren's estimations, he was still far from the third level.

But this painful feeling in his dantian area was a good sign.

But what Ren didn't know was that the pain in his stomach actually indicated that he was approaching level three as a magician. Ren didn't realize it, but the energy technique he used was at least tens of times more advanced than those used by the other children.

He had many advantages.

Thanks to Nuren, this technique has now reached a value that even the students in the inner court didn't have.

For example, when Ren bought the rule book, the school had its own energy technique. A simple technique called "Awei Circle". This technique, which was almost on the same level as the technique used by the Xandal Clan, already caused the outer court disciples to develop very slowly and live in a school-dependent manner. Because students who especially needed the school's energy tablets in order to improve were desperate. Helpless and totally dependent on school.

Ren's situation was different. He could also improve a great deal just by meditation without using those pills. In fact, Ren's tablet-free progress was slightly faster than students still using tablets.

But hesitating, Ren picked up his book again and stubbornly continued to go over things he didn't understand.

He was confident that if he could decipher the information in this book, he would be able to master all seventeen techniques in a single night!

It was the end of the sixth day. Just as he was about to stop meditating and open his eyes to eat, he felt another spazm in his stomach. There was no chance of misunderstanding the spazm, which was stronger this time than before. He realized at that moment that he was very close to the 3rd level.

"Could it be? Diana said that my case was special and that it would take years even for the third level. I wonder if I should see a doctor?"

Lying on his bed with only one day left until the Energy Tablets were distributed, Ren raised his hand in the air, channeling the energy he sent forth from his belly with all his will. He then dragged a small amount of energy to the tip of his hand.

The reason he tried so hard was because he had to direct the energy using only certain channels. Not every energy channel is suitable for every technique or element, so Ren used a secure channel that he only knew. And because of this situation, he put extra effort even for something simple.

When he finally succeeded, he got the result of his last six days of work.

A fire burned in his right hand, very similar to the one Diana had taken out of her hands months ago.

The only difference was that Ren's fire was larger in size and burning in a more vigorous way.

Ren started laughing with a smug expression on his face, realizing that he was already ahead of Diana. He wanted more. He wanted to go further and prove himself to the whole world, even to other worlds.

He put out the fire in his hand. Then he continued the meditation he had just interrupted with even greater ambition.

...

Finally, after a week, the expected day came.

Awakened instantly by the light coming from the window, Ren could not sit still with an excitement that he had not been able to shake off since yesterday. Nervously, he changed his clothes to cleaner clothes that he got from his ring.

He stared out the window for a while, wondering if anything was wrong with him, but he didn't see anything bad. He just had to swallow when he saw a large crowd of people walking instead of the usual few.

"Open."

Luckily, the door opened in one go without any trouble.

He walked out the door and mingled with the crowd. No one even turned to look at him properly. In fact, everyone on the road was very excited at that moment. In order not to attract unnecessary attention, all the children were thinking about different things and the pills they were going to take.

And how they can return home safely.

There was something very important that Ren still didn't know about this school!
