"Well!" He still remained chuffed. "Bai Chen, do you realise what you are doing to our poor son?" He looked at her mockingly while the lady to his left looked on at Bai Chen with disdain and covered the child's eyes.
"No?"
"No!? You do not recognise your corrupt thinking?!" He burst out, spit flying everywhere.
"Dude! You look like you care about food more than I do! What do you mean my corrupt thinking?" She looked down at the feast on his table and looked back up at him.
He huffed, trying to retain his dignity and not slam the table in front of him, "Do you not think a young man like yourself having long hair is inappropriate!?"
...man...
man....
MAN!?
Bai Chen was so confused. Why was this guy angry again? What did she do?
She sighed and just stared at the dude. In her mind, with his red face he had already turned into a tomato in her mind. A st*pid tomato that is.
Also, what was so bad about a guy having long hair?! Especially hair as pretty as her's.
"I'm sorry sir but I don't care. Goodbye." Bai Chen rolled her eyes and left. She would find someone else to help her.
Looking forward, she saw another person and ran up to them.
"Miss." Just as she leered over the next target's shoulder, Bai Chen heard a familiar voice. She got off her tippy toes and turned around.
"Oh." Bai Chen realised she could ask Lucy.
"Hey, could you please tell me what each of these coins is worth?"
Lucy was confused. Her miss used to be so smart. Did her miss lose her memory or something? That still wouldn't justify her loss of demeanor, class, and talent however.
----------
Bai Chen, crying: You're so mean!
Lucy, unbothered: Am I wrong?
Bai Chen: ....
.....
Bai Chen: crying again.
-----------------------
Bai Chen didn't care if Lucy realised she wasn't her old miss. She didn't care if anyone realised. At this moment all she cared about was her food.
Lucy gave a small sigh, probably of disappointment and started explaining the coins.
Out of the conversation, Bai Chen understood: 1 gold coin equates to 100 blue coins, 1 blue coins equates to 100 red coins, and red coins were the smallest currency.
In Bai Chen's mind, it was like how 100 cents was a dollar and 100 dollars was a 100 dollar note.
The two walked together in search of food, finally arriving at a restaurant that Bai Chen was satisfied with.
All the way there, people gawked at the two girls.
Bai Chen noticed the stares and with a keen eye looked Lucy up and down. She didn't know why people were staring at the girl so much.
If anyone knew what she was thinking they would probably roll their eyes and sigh. No, Bai Chen. They're looking at you, fool.
