After 5 more minutes of bickering, Janet finally said "I think we need to get going Val. We need to be ready for tomorrow morning."
"Yeah…"
Janet looked at me and said "Val and I are going to Terium, the capital city of the kingdom for some business. We expect to be gone for 6 months or more. But we will return here once our business is finished. When we do, I hope you have become so strong that you can come join our party."
We both knew there was no way I would get anywhere near their strength in 6 months. It was just her way of saying farewell. While we could be friends, we could never become party members in 6 months. Maybe if I worked even harder than them and got my level ups faster than them, it could happen. Without experiencing levelling myself, I had no idea of what I could actually do.
"Before you go, can tell me what your levels are?"
"Levels vary from person to person and there is no real way to compare one person's level to another's. What people compare if the attribute values since they are actually comparable. I am primarily a magician and my magic attribute is at 25. I have recently started working on my strength attribute to fight close range opponents. It's already at 15. My agility is at 8. "
"I am more focussed on strength and agility. By strength is at level 30 and agility at level 20" said Val.
I was shocked by the level difference. My strength level is only 2! Janel is 8 times stronger than me and Val 15 times?
"I know what you are thinking. I am not 8 times stronger than you. That is not how levels work. I am certainly much stronger than you but not that much. The higher your level is, the lesser the effect of a level up. There are other things that you are supposed to do when you do not see much gain from the normal levelling. When we meet next time, I will tell you more about it."
"Let's meet again someday shrimp". Val started to get up.
"I hope we see you again Ren. Farewell… for now". Janet got up.
I stood up as well and Janet bent down and hugged me. After that, Val bent down and picked me right up! She squeezed me and I felt my ribs were going to crack. After holding me up for 15 seconds, she finally put down. I had to take deep breaths since she squeezed the air out of me!
"I will miss both of you! Let me know once you come back from the capital!"
