Chapter 35 - Establishing Establishment

Everyone immediately responses. Everyone except for Jessica and Thomas. Both of them are out cold due to one reason or another. As for everyone else, they ask whether they can come along since they know I am heading back to the surface.

For what reason, they have also guessed correctly. It is obviously not for supplies.

"Sorry, but it is faster and easier if I go alone," I tell everyone. "I will try to rescue each of your parents and families if possible, but no promises. Just stay here until I get back. If I do not… well, you will know what to do, huh?"

"Don't fucking say that man! Make it back here alive or I will be fucking heading out and hunting down your dead ass," Alex snaps, and I simply chuckle.

I eye Alice with a smile before heading back into the sewer, coming face to face with squirming roots, searching for any preys. The roots themselves will prevent any monsters from wandering the sewer, assuming that those monsters are not alienated by the stench and toxicity.

Before I attempt to make my way through the roots, I open my Status Window.

My status has not changed much other than my MP is no longer sitting at 0.00%. This is because I have awakened along with everyone else who manages to keep their mind and will from the Ruler of Life.

I touch my profession, opening a new window.

It is the Profession Window, and it can be accessed directly with the command: "Profession."

There, I can see my level amongst other things. The Merchant class or profession levels up by obtaining and holding onto Wealth. As my wealth increases, my level increases, and as my wealth decreases, my level will also decrease.

Because of that, I try not to spend too much unless necessary. My current Wealth is sitting at north of 12 million due to having 12 million GP. That puts me at level 6, which requires me to have a minimum Wealth of 4.7 million. To reach level 7, I need Wealth of at least 82.3 million.

The amount of Wealth requires at each subsequent level grows exponential. Even so, I was at around level 1000 or so before I give up almost everything for a second chance. At that level, numbers really become meaningless, including the amount of Wealth I had then.

Leveling up as a Merchant is important, as it unlocks class-related skills and abilities. Well, only abilities as skills are not really related to my level as a Merchant. Skills are learned and unlocked, and once I do, I will have them even if my level has return to 1 due to the sacrifice of all my Wealth.

I can only have a certain number of Skills under the System. Skills that I have learned or obtained from outside the System does not count as part of the limitation.

Anyway, the limit is 12, and I can see all of them in my profession window.

Since I already know all my Skills as I have chosen to unlock or obtain each one of them specifically for my profession, I have a look at my available abilities. Abilities that can be used.

And with a nod and dismissal of the Status Window, I return to the subway station. "Ah, sorry. I need to set up something before I go."

With a thought, the whole subway station is designated as my Establishment. My first Establishment!
