There is only one way to deal with young masters and their ancestors in my book, and that is to pretty much slaughter them all. I have had enough of them and their arrogance bs the first time around. This time, however, I will not just sit there and take their insults, especially from someone who is too stupid to be left alive.
Honestly, just judging from the amounts of wounds on the dead beast to my side, Shao Nianzu and his gang of wonders has tried to kill it repeatedly, failing each time. For the beast to die at my hands with little effort should tell them more than they need about me. That is, do not fuck with me.
To go and act all high and mighty in front me is asking to be killed.
Also, I did warn them by saying that anything gets in my way will be massacred, and I do mean literally anything, including heaven-defying beauties. That girl right there is not quite a beauty yet. Her name is Yang Meili.
Not really sure why I should remember her name. Probably to keep track of everyone I have met and likely slaughtered, I suppose.
"Young master!" Yang Meili immediately channels her internal energy into his wound, trying her best to stop the profuse bleeding. Her effort is in vain, of course.
I might not have aimed for the heart, but I am sure that Shao Nianzu is as good as dead. This is because of my crossbow's special ability. One of many abilities, actually. Whatever wound it inflicts will never get healed, not without some kind of miracles.
"Kill him!"
Lin Gang roars and charges at me along with the rest of the followers. Their charge meets with several crossbow bolts, all aiming for their head, killing each one instantly. Some of them are shocked at their death from their expression, as they have tried to dodge those bolts.
As if they could at their cultivation level.
Should have aimed for the head for Shao Nianzu as well, but seeing a beauty trying to save an idiot in vain is quite a sight to behold. I let her be since her pointless endeavor amuses me.
And besides, I have lunch to prepare before I was rudely interrupted by… what did he call himself? 3-stars Beast Tamer and 4-stars Gourmet Hunter? Some kind of professions with grading levels?
Seems to be the case.
There is no such thing as jobs or professions in the old era. Everyone just does whatever the fuck they pleased without bothering to give themselves specialization or gradings. It is not like their cultivation level alone didn't tell others of how much of a badass they are and should not be messed with.
Yang Meili unleashes her aura, catching my attention.
Without any established foundation myself, I cannot sense her cultivation stages or realms personally, and it is one of the strange benefits of being in the Origin Realms.
I am totally insensitive to almost all form of energy, Qi or otherwise.
Having said that, my eyes did reveal to me that Yang Meili is around mid-level Qi Refinement stage of the Mortal Realm. That is the first stage of the realm, thus implying that she hasn't started her journey towards godhood for long. Or maybe her potential is low.
Her potential is not that low for this region, honestly, and she is fairly bright. Bright enough to use her spiking aura to call for help instead of trying to commit suicide by attacking me.
I decide to humor her and let her call for help. By the time help arrives, Shao Nianzu should be amongst the dead.
At least, I think so.
I might have spoken too soon since a portal forms, and an elderly man steps through the portal. A few more people join him behind, wearing almost the same clothes as him.
The portal remains open afterwards, telling me they have plenty of energy to spare. Or this is a special kind of portal. Whichever, I want to learn it. But I am in no hurry. It is not like I do not have all sorts of portals in my arsenals.
"Headmaster!" Yang Meili calls out, tearfully. What is her relationship to Shao Nianzu. It doesn't seem to be simple.
The Headmaster, whose name is Shen Hu, immediately checks Shao Nianzu and barks his order to the people behind him. Their robe seems to indicate their rank amongst whatever organization all of them are apart of. Probably a school.
"Take him back. Hurry. There is no time to waste. Go with him as well, Yang Meili."
He places a hand on Yang Meili, and I can see his aura manipulates hers. Ah. He is acquiring what she has seen. It is one of the more commonly used technique.
"Yes, Headmaster," Yang Meili responses and follows the others back through the portal in haste. She casts me a glance before leaving. The portal closes behind her.
"Did you do this?" Headmaster Shen Hu questions. Anger laces in his voice. His face does not show it, however. Good composure.
"No idea what you are talking about, old man," I response after discerning his cultivation level with a glance. Quite impressive level for someone of this region. "They were already dead the moment they try to attack me."
"Is that so?" Headmaster Shen Hu responses before thrusting out his hand, sending his aura forwards, forcing me to block it. Unfortunately, even if my divine robe can dissipate the energy blast, it still sends me flying backwards from the force alone.
I immediately fire my crossbow several times, but the bolts did not reach their target thanks to a shield appearing in front of the old man.
"Do not think that you are the only one who has a Sacred Treasure," Shen Hu announces as he raises his Sacred Blade skywards and slashes downwards, splitting the very earth with the force alone.
Since it is way too fast, I have no choice but to block it with both arms, letting the blow crashes against my robe. Energy ripples violently as I am sent skidding backwards.
Even if my divine-class armor can take any sort of punishment, I cannot due to my cultivation, and to be honest, I can already feel the exhaustion. A pill fixes that, but another strike sends me back to the same exhausted state.
"Relinquish those sacred treasures and I might let you live as a cripple," Shen Hu threatens.
