At long last, I can hear the waterfall behind a set of trees obscured amid the Cool Mountain. With scratches and dirt but thankfully still alive, I walk towards northwest and down towards the center town.
Still dead in the night, I have a long way going down from the mountain. I used an hour and a half, but I should play my cards well or it'll be a failed mission.
I can say how different Lost Town is from the rest of the Island. The trees here are so thick with their leaves making a canopy above obscuring almost the light of the moon.
I find it hard going down, almost stumbling from roots and rocks sticking out on the ground.
Surprisingly, I hear two voices talking and a light coming from past a huge oak tree.
"How many hours before King Pyros's breakfast?" says a voice.
"In another four hours," replies the other.
I sneak around and see them walking down the slope. At least they are immersed in their conversation to notice me. A tall shadow is holding the torch. The other is walking ahead, and they both seem to be wielding swords. They're dangerous, I can say that.
"What's the menu?" asks the one holding the torch.
"Kids..." the other trails off. Kids? What do they mean?
"Does the boss think the treasure's here?"
"At least he knows it's here. That's why the boss wants to take the King's head and take over the Kingdom."
"The most ancient dragon that can destroy the world," says the tall man. They laugh at that.
Both of them continue towards the town, but I stop on my tracks. I can't believe what I just heard that sends a cold blooded knife down my throat. Dragons, here? And what is it with this boss who wants to take the King's head. This is top secret information, and I accidentally hear it. One thing's for sure, the King is in danger with this boss man.
They leave without noticing me and head straight towards the town. I wait for a moment before heading to the town. I am completely engrossed inside my own thoughts that I'm surprised to see the town up ahead.
What surprised me more is the fact that the town is in ruins. From what I can see, there had been a recent battle happened here. Dilapidated homes lines the streets with soot covering them. The road is littered with damage. The only thing that stand still from all the destruction is the tower of god. A tall tower that shaped like a torch.
The Emon Kingdom has three towers of god, one from the Mirth Town—in the middle of the park. One from the capital—on the castle grounds, facing the capital in its might. It served as watch tower of the castle. The other one is in the Lost Town. These towers stood since the beginning of the Emon Kingdom and is said to protect the god of Emon.
But seeing the situation of Lost Town, there may be something bad going on here.
"Where are we?" comes Mr. Stewart's croaky voice. I look at him, rubbing his eyes with his little hands.
"We've arrived, Mr. Stewart," I say. His round eyes look over to the situation on Lost Town. "What's happened here?" he asks, out of breath.
"What do you mean?"
"The town isn't like this when I came here," he says. That's right, Mr. Stewart came here yesterday to loot another map. So, there must be something going on. And judging from those two talking about a boss, it's undoubtedly connected to him about the situation here.
"What did you see, Mr. Stewart?" I ask.
"When I was about leaving the town, there were new ships arrived. They look like another lawbreakers running from the UN Soldiers," he says.
Now that's trouble. A boss who wants the King's head to conquer the Emon Kingdom. It sure has a huge shadow hiding in the Lost Town.
