"Miss, wake up!"
I can hear Lili's voice while she shakes me, but still, I don't want to wake up. No! If I don't open my eyes and continue sleeping, I can still continue dreaming. I can still continue my date with my other anime crushes.
I groaned and pretended to be still sleeping, but I felt a cold thing touch my feet. I wanted to ignore it but it is really cold!
"What the hell is that--ICE?!" I yelled when I saw Granny putting bare ice cubes on my feet!
It suddenly made my headache. My cold feels like it's going away faster, and my eyes are clear as day, but the sudden cold made my head feel painful.
"Granny!" I pull my feet up while I glare at her. Sometimes, she's still as scary as she was when I first saw her.
"Wake up, the prince will be waiting for you at the library, Miss." She said, then Lulu prepared my coffee and we did our usual routine.
Lili and the others will argue over my dress, Granny will stop them, while Regin gives information or tell me what my schedule is.
"You will have your breakfast with the Prince, and you will have to spend your time with him until noon." Regin smiled at me and gave me a list of things to remember while talking to the Prince.
"Oookay?" I read the list, all these questions are too boring! What's your favorite food? Favorite color? Favorite flower? Favorite day? This is all about the Prince! What? Should I just ask him about what his favorites are? Can't I tell him my favorite animal? Favorite joke? Favorite series?
"Is there something wrong, Miss?" Regin asked.
I suddenly noticed I was glaring at the list with my eyebrows furrowed. I smiled at him and shook my head, "Nothing. Let's get ready now." I said and the maids, whose ears are as red as a tomato walks towards me and handed me a baby blue dress.
We went to the library and the two knights looked at me from head to toe before letting me inside. I heard them talk about me before they close the wide wooden door.
"She's the bride?"
"She looks stupid with that simple dress!"
I felt my face twitched, but then I heard Granny stopping Regin from confronting the guards.
"Let them go, Regin! Miss wouldn't like it if you fight them, and it's not how a knight should behave!"
I turned to them and nodded, "It's not how a knight should behave, but I would like it if you fight them!" I said and stopped the guards from closing the door with my foot, which is, of course, a bit painful, then I pull the door and looked straight at the tall guards.
"First of all, good morning, gentlemen," I started while I hear Granny and the maids trying to stop me, "And secondly, I am not stupid with this simple dress!"
I folded my arms in front of me and raised my right brow, "Not because I wear a simple attire doesn't mean that my intellectual capacity is low, or that I am an incapable person. Clothes and looks don't describe a person!" I said and turned to Regin with a wide smile on my face and ran.
I didn't even bother looking back at the guards to know how they reacted and went first in the library, but before I can even look around, loud applause echoed.
"That was impressive, Miss Amelia!" A familiar voice said, then a tall man with dark hair appeared from behind the shelves.
He smiled brightly at me and then he stopped walking five feet away from me and stood straight, and he bowed down.
I suddenly felt nervous and did a curtsy, just like what they taught us in school. I held my skirt up and folded my knee while my other leg was behind me, then I lowered my head.
"Thanks?" I said I don't even know how to react to what he said to me. What was impressive?
He chuckled, then I saw him walking to me then he held his hand towards me.
I took it then I stood up, and there he was, a handsome fellow. But what I noticed was how simple yet elegant his suit is. It's similar to the suit my anime boyfriends use when they attend formal parties, or if they are royalty.
"Wow, nice suit," I suddenly blurted out. I zipped my lips and looked at him, "I mean... I like your style-- no, I mean..." I shook my head, I feel embarrassed with myself! What am I even saying?
But his soft laugh made me stop worrying, "It's fine, I understand, and thank you."
I just noticed that he's still holding my hand, and before I can even pull it away, he pulls me towards a door.
"Please follow me to the garden," he said.
I looked back and saw Granny and the others bowing while we leave.
Wait! Is this the Prince? I looked at the man holding my hand carefully as if he's holding a delicate flower, afraid to crumple it.
"Are you..."
The bright light made me close my eyes but after a few seconds, it looks like we're in a shaded place but I saw a maid holding an umbrella for me and the man as we head towards a garden table.
There are already prepared breakfast, and the butlers and maids are waiting for us.
Everyone bowed as we pass by them, and this man still holds my hand.
"Your Highness, your breakfast is ready." A butler bowed and opened the covered foods.
"Let's take a seat, Miss Amelia," the Prince held my chair and pulled it for me.
I smiled and sat down, "Thank you," I whispered. I don't even know if he heard me.
Everything's just embarrassing and weird for me. When the Prince held his spoon and fork, everyone left aside from the butler who served the food and the maid who held the umbrella.
"Go on and eat, Miss Amelia, the food won't be hot later." The Prince said as he was about to take a bite.
I shyly took the spoon and fork, I haven't had breakfast with someone for a while. It was years ago since the last time I ate with people.
"I'm sorry to wake you up early, Miss," the Prince said, "But I want to have a longer time with you."
Why does he have to say that while we're eating? I'm already uncomfortable eating with him!
"I'm glad to see that you're doing fine than yesterday," he smiled at me, "At least that good for nothing doctor has done something right."
His voice suddenly became cold and sharp, I gulped from hearing it. But it's true, I feel better than yesterday, but I kept my head down and nodded.
"I'm sorry, I should stop talking nonsense while eating. I'm sorry to cause you any discomfort and show you such a disgraceful manner," he looked down on his food and for a while, the silence became unbearable. I guess it's better if he continue to talk.
"It's fine..." Should I say, your highness or Prince? Maybe my lord is the right word? Ughh, curse these titles! "... prince. I am not just used to eating with someone."
I took a glance at the Prince and I was shocked to see him frowning, "Why?"
I looked away from him and took a sip of water, "I'm living alone."
We had a few seconds of silence before he spoke.
"Well, now, you have me! We'll eat breakfast together from now on."
I raised my head and looked at him. He's happily eating. I can't believe I am eating with a real-life Prince. I don't know why he wanted to spend his time with me, but... maybe I should be glad to spend time with such an important person.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked while I wipe my mouth with a napkin after we ate.
"What?" He asked.
"This. Why are you spending your personal time over me?" I don't want to ask his favorite color, I want to ask real questions. If he doesn't like a woman like that, he can throw me back to my world. At least I won't be spending my time for a dude who's too focused on himself.
He looked at me with surprise, I guess, he only wants to be asked about his favorite thing, huh.
"I'm sorry to ask such a silly question, Prince. You can send me back to my world if I disrespected you."
I bowed my head. I was expecting him to ask the guards to pull me away from this place but he just laughs. I kind of like the sound of his laugh.
It's full of happiness and it's genuine. I looked at him, "What?" I asked. Was he waiting for me to act this stupid? Is this why he brought me here? To make fun of me?
"I'm sorry," he wiped his tears of joy and sighed, "Why would I send you back? Don't worry, I'll answer your question, Miss Amelia."
He let the maid clean the table first while looking at me the whole time, which is uncomfortable for me.
"Miss, I wanted to know more about you," he went straight with a serious tone, "I was wondering if you tell me something about your world."
I furrowed my brows, "My world?" There's nothing special about my world! I mean, yeah, there's corruption, poverty, crimes, and other things, but I guess that's not uncommon here.
"Yes, but I would like to know more about you first. Tell me something and I'll ask my questions later." The Prince smiled and I can see now how he must've looked like when I sneezed in front of him. The things to do of Regin wasn't even right, the Prince doesn't want to be asked about his favorites.
"Well," I started, "I'm a college student. I live alone in my apartment. I love watching animes and I am a loner. I hate people and I love to stay in my room and eat."
I think most people don't want others to know these things, and here I am, telling the Prince that I am this kind of person. First of all, I want to go back to sleep and secondly, if he wants to know me, he has to know the real usual me.
I am ready to go back home now! I'm sure he doesn't want someone like me to be the crown princess!
"I don't understand half of what you're saying, Miss. What's college? What's an apartment? What's an anime?"
I suck my lips while holding back my laughter and irritation. He didn't even understand what I said. I closed my eyes and gathered the wind of patience. It seems like it'll be harder for me to get sent back home.
But his innocent smile and curious eyes made me sigh. Well, he wants to learn about my world, maybe I should start with college. The hell that everyone hates - school, university, quizzes, exams, and homework!
