I spent the whole day on my bed while drawing random doodles. I can't get my mind off of what I did earlier to the Prince. I agreed to call him Forest and I told him to call me Amy, but I suddenly backed away and retracted my feelings.
The maids and Granny were worried about what happened, but I stayed silent. I don't want to waste their time telling them something so awful. I sent them outside just after I got back, and I can still hear them outside the door until now.
Regin was out on a meeting with the other guards that's why no ones telling me random knowledge about this world or the kingdom.
I put my sketches and pencil under my pillow and I rolled around the bed.
I want to go back now.
If I stay here any longer, I'm sure I won't be able to stop my growing adoration for the Prince.
I just can't stop feeling fluttered when he speaks to me. He always sounds as if we knew each other for a long time. I just can't bring myself to admit it to myself.
I covered my eyes with my arms. It's noon already.
I'm sure he's meeting a bride right this moment.
Is he holding her hand as well? Is he telling them cheesy jokes too?
Arghh! I hit the bed with my fist while thinking about it.
I stood up and went to the window, I can feel the cold breeze brushing against my cheeks.
When he held my hand earlier, it sent warmth all over my body.
Is it wrong to feel that I want that warmth only for myself? I don't want him because he's a prince and because I'm a bride candidate.
I want him because I need him. I need him to continue talking when I don't want to speak, I want him to distract me from my dark thoughts, and I need him to fill my empty world.
I sighed just from realizing that I already fell for someone I only know for two days officially.
Is it because he's the closest person I know?
I started living alone since I was 7 when my father suddenly decided to act like a bubble just after my mother died, which I can't remember the day of her funeral but it won't change the fact that she's dead. Well, my father's like, one day he's home, then he'll disappear for a long time.
I got used to it fast. I don't know how, but as a young kid, I already felt alone.
He's been gone for years now, but he still sends me money. I don't know where he got it, but I don't care, as long as I live.
I was only surrounded by school and anime my whole life until I was kidnapped to be here.
It's the biggest plot twist that happened to me.
And just after a prince came, I already started feeling this way.
Am I needing someone so bad to fall so fast?
"Miss?" I heard Lala knock on the door which shifted my thoughts, "Your lunch is ready."
I opened the door and the first thing I saw was their worried faces.
I smiled at them but Lili went on and hugged me tight, "Don't feel sad, Miss! We're here for you even if you hate the Prince for sleeping on you!"
I chuckled with her words, "Where did you know that?"
"Regin was there, Miss! You just didn't see him!"
Wait, what? Then, he saw me petting the Prince's hair?!
"Miss?" Lili waved her hand in front of my face.
I looked at her, it doesn't seem like Regin told them, or else they'll be all over me, teasing.
"I'm hungry," I said then went on to eat my lunch.
Evening came before it hit me. How will I face him tomorrow?
Can I just fake being sick? Can I hide somewhere? Wait... can I run away from the castle? I was looking for an adventure anyway, and if I stay here until I get to be sent home, it'll be a waste!
I waited for Granny and the maids to go after they tucked me in bed then I changed my clothes into a thicker one then I went out the door.
Regin's still in the meeting, which is perfect!
My heart started pounding with excitement. It's the first time I felt this way.
I feel like a kid getting out of the city for the first time.
I was able to sneak from the guards, after running fast, which is really weird since they weren't able to see nor hear me.
But it's a good thing and I don't have time to think about it, now I should focus on getting out of this mansion.
The moment I stepped outside the mansion through the back door where there are fewer guards roaming, my body shivered because of the cold wind.
I should've worn thicker clothes.
I can see the forest not far from where I'm standing. And from my room, I can see that this forest will lead to the kingdom's village.
I hid behind a column when two guards pass by. From what they said, guards have powers-- along with everyone, and I have to be careful since maybe one of them has super hearing and they'll hear my heart pounding from fear and excitement.
When I saw that all the guards were not looking, I started running towards the forest with a direction in mind.
I even closed my eyes while running because there's a high chance that they'll see and catch me.
I can feel my feet touching the ground while the breeze was against my skin.
But even after a few seconds of running, where I should've reached the forest, I heard no guards running after me.
I stopped and opened my eyes.
I was already outside the forest near the village.
I looked back and only saw trees and darkness.
Wait... I did it! I got away from them!
Ha! A mere human, getting away from those guards? What an honor to be able to do that!
I turned my head towards the village. There are bright lights, street noises, and different smells of foods being cooked in the air. I can't help but smile.
I even hopped towards the village with an unrested heart.
I can see different types of people.
I saw a puppet-like a young lady with her wood-like skin buying jewelry inside a shop; then there's an old man with a head similar to a lion, he was gigantic as well, and he has a special chair outside a coffee shop.
I can feel the excitement rushing through my veins up to my fingertips as I continue to look around.
I noticed that this kingdom welcomes all sorts of people, every shop has a material built for different sizes of people. just like for Mr. Lion earlier.
And a clothing shop has different types of clothes as well.
There were clothes for mermaids, for guys with wings, or for those who have tails.
While staring at this beautiful gown of peach, I heard a kid's cry.
I walked towards the alley just next to the clothing shop and saw a young boy with two tails and a hand like a paw. He was sitting on the ground with a scraped knee.
"Hey," I said softly as I approach him, "Do you need help?"
I looked around but all I can see are trash and darkness.
I bent my knees and tilted my head to get to see his face better, but I was caught off guard because of his beautiful red glowing eyes, like a wolf ready to devour its prey, but he just continued wailing.
"Come on, let's go sit there," I pointed at the bench on the side of the street under a streetlight.
He sniffed then nodded. He was about to stand up but his scraped knee must've hurt badly that he got out of balance.
Good thing I was able to hold his arms before he hit the ground.
"Let me carry you," I offered then bent my knee and offered my back.
He climbs without any hesitation and while we were walking towards the bench, he was burying his head on my shoulder like a dog.
Ah~ I don't want this to end! He feels so fluffy!
"Sis," he called as I put him down on the bench, "You smell good!" He said.
I noticed that his face was a bit dirty so I wiped my sleeve on his cheek. He looked so cute while I wiped it upwards! His cheeks are so chubby and wiping it makes him close his eyes.
"What happened to you?" I asked.
"I wanted to play with my brother and I ran, but I noticed that I was sooooooo far from him then I bumped into this veryyyyyyy large grandma and I scrapped my knee. She was so scary so I hide in that alley," he pointed at the place where I saw him, "Then, you saw me!"
He smiled. I wish I can do something about his knee, but I don't have money to buy a band-aid. He's so small, and there's no question if he got hurt just because he bumped into a big person. Maybe even if I bump into him, I'll send him bouncing on the ground.
He stopped smiling at me and started sniffing the air.
"My brother's here!" He said and started moving his legs with excitement.
I looked around but I can't see any doggish person, but when someone spoke behind me, it made me jump in surprise.
"You're here," a man with white long hair, and white two tails said while looking at the kid.
