A soft bell chimes near my ear, I was dreaming about my favorite male lead in the anime series I was watching, but the bell cut it off. I was about to kiss him! It was so near! I can almost feel his lips on mine, but this bell destroyed it! My headache's still here too, and my nose is still stuffed! I'm sure this allergy will stay for a few days. I hate getting sick! There was never a time where I only got sick for a single day and the next morning I wake up perfectly fine.
I opened my eyes and saw Lili, grinning while holding a bell on her hands.
I groaned and turned my head in the opposite direction but there's Lala holding another bell on her hand while smiling cheerfully.
"Wake up, Miss! This is your first day as a chosen bride candidate!" Lulu pulled a food trolly and prepared my breakfast.
I'm still here, huh? I remember that I had an allergy last night and went to sleep while granny was telling me something.
I groaned and stretched my arms, anyway, I'm still here. So, I'll continue to enjoy my stay in this dimension until I get kicked out.
After I finished my breakfast and took a bath, Lili, Lulu, and Lala are once again fighting over what dress I should wear.
I just chuckle as I listen to their words while throwing dresses at each other, then Regin appeared. He still looks like he can cut my body in half, but at least, he is smiling at me now.
Granny then followed him, but her eyes are glued on the young maids, and right then and there, I knew she will yell. So, I covered my ears and sighed.
I suddenly wonder, why did the Prince accept me even though I clearly acted disgustingly in front of him yesterday. But his words... Am I interesting because I disrespected him? What if he let me stay to torture me? What if he is really perverted and he will sell me to his friends and... ACHOO!
Nah, forget it, I still feel sick and my head's still heavy.
"Drink this," Regin gave me a pill, "The doctor went here last night, and checked you. He said this will make you heal faster."
I took the pill and the glass of water he was holding, "A doctor came? Why didn't you wake me up?"
"We were trying to, but only a dragon's fire can wake you up." Regin giggled.
"Dragon's fire? Is that a figure of speech or..."
Regin raised his eyebrows at me, assessing what I intend to say, then he nodded, "Dragons are real here, Miss." He said and smiled at me.
Yeah, I almost forgot. I am in a whimsical place. There are people with horns, tails, feathers and whatever there is.
"For today, you will be presented to the Prince. And you will find out what time of day you will get to spend time with him." Regin added.
"What?" I shook my head, spend time with an unknown man? No way! I will only let my anime boys get to spend private time with me. Not with a perverted man!
I don't even remember what he looks like. My sight was too blurry yesterday and my head was aching badly to even remember what that Prince looks like!
"I don't want to spend time with him! You didn't tell me that before!"
Regin cleared his throat and shook his head, "It's a common knowledge that if you are a bride candidate, you will have to take your time to talk with the Prince."
"BUT THAT IS NOT COMMON FROM WHERE I CAME FROM!"
I yelled I hate spending time with people. I hate people! And now I have to get chatty with an unknown person? No way!
The maids are all finished arguing after Granny pinched their ears and they gave me a peach-colored dress. I stood up and went inside the dressing room.
I was pouting while we were on our way to the hall, and before we can even enter, the smell of the perfume can take my life away.
Why are they still wearing such scent!
I groaned and shook my head, "No, I will die if I stay there!" I told granny.
I can feel my nose getting stuffier and my vision's starting to get blurry.
"Bear with it for a while, just listen to what they have to say." Granny held my hand, it was warm and comforting. "And if the Prince talks to you, just tell him that you feel sick. I'm sure he'll understand."
I just nodded, but I wonder will he really understand? What if he thinks that I think too highly of myself because I feel sick?
I just sneezed in front of him yesterday.
Regin gave me a handkerchief before I entered, "Use this, just cover your face, Miss, if you need to."
Everyone smiled at me and cheered me before I enter the hall. I don't care anymore about what will happen. I feel so sick, there's nothing that can make me feel worse.
Every bride candidate stands in line again, all 50 of us. And again, I am the last one.
The ladies are wearing more extravagant clothes, while here I am, wearing another simple dress. But, duh? Why should I wear weird and heavy clothes if I don't intend to stay here and be a Crown Princess?
I covered my nose, the fragrant is getting more intense. The ladies are also starting to retouch their make-up after the same butler yesterday announced that the Prince is coming after a few moments.
I looked at Granny and the others, they just smiled at me, assuring that everything is fine. Just yesterday, they are all strangers to me. I sure am getting a hang of this temporary vacation in this dimension, and they all seem nice, to be honest. Even though Regin did threaten my head off, and Granny yelled at me, they still feel as if I already met them before.
I closed my eyes, trying to clear my blurred vision but still, it doesn't get to seem any better. I sighed and watched as a man gets near me.
This might be the Prince. Maybe I should get some glasses in case I get in this situation again, at least, I can still see clearly even if I am sick.
"Miss Amelia, are you not feeling better?" The man asks.
Ah, this is the Prince. It's his voice.
I nodded and wiped my runny nose, ah, I don't even care if he feels disrespected.
"Sorry, my cold doesn't seem to get better. And my allergy seems to worsen," I glanced at the ladies. Their perfume is still lingering around the hall.
I saw his body get tensed, "Didn't the doctor visit you last night? Did he gave you medicine to take?"
"He did visit me yesterday. But I was already sleeping, they tried to wake me up, but they failed. I took the medicine earlier. Maybe the effect takes in slow."
My voice was low due to my stuffy nose, but I can still speak clearly. The man looked to his right and talked to the man next to him then he seems to say something, then he turned to me again.
"Please, stay in your room until you feel better. You are excused in the next meetings. I hope you'll be fine before the next trial, Miss Amelia."
I can't help but notice that his voice is attractive. He sounds sweet and caring but his voice is deep and mysterious. I nodded and said my gratitude.
"Our meeting will be..." He looked at the folder the man next to him and cleared his throat. The Prince took a few steps forward, then he leaned close to my ear. I tried to take a few steps back, but he held my arm and stopped me. "Every day, every morning. I will be waiting in the library." He whispered then he let me go and left.
Everyday? Every morning!? No! I need my sleep! He should've rescheduled it!
I was about to call him but the butler announced that the meeting was over. And once again, as I walk towards Granny and the others, I can feel the other bride candidates' stares behind my back.
"So, when is your schedule?" Asks Granny as we make our way back to my room.
"Every day, every morning," I groaned as Regin opens the door for me, but they all froze after I answered her question.
Lala suddenly popped in front of me, "Every day?" She asks with a surprised face.
"EVERY MORNING?" Lili added as she suddenly appears beside Lala.
I nodded and pushes them away, I need to sleep! My head's killing me!
Regin and Granny followed me quietly then stared at me as I lay on my bed.
"Miss, there must've been a mistake. The Prince will only meet you once a week, and everyone will get to have time with him during the afternoon. His morning hours are all private and personal." Regin informed me, but his words are like floating bubbles that pop after a few seconds. My head's beginning to drift off far to the horizon until my eyes shut tight.
Unknown to me, the Prince once again sent his personal doctor to check on me, after he nagged him because the medicine he gave is not working properly on me.
"Her body is different than ours, our assessment may be too strong or too weak. I need her to do a full assessment on her condition and give the right medicine," says the doctor with his lazy voice. He rolled his eyes when he saw Amelia sleeping soundly, "He screamed at me and even threaten to destroy my reputation if I don't get to treat her before the next trial, who is this human?" He looked at Amelia, her long lashes and sophisticated features seem familiar to him, but he doesn't have time to think about it.
"I'll return after a couple of hours, be sure to wake her up." He said and left.
Regin snorted, "Seems like the doctor's noticing who Amelia really is."
Granny nodded and covered Amelia with a blanket, "Soon enough, everyone will know who she is."
