The area looked as if it was a bomb test area with craters all around. Lucas stood up, still feeling the effects of Simone's onslaught. Mary walked over to Won't, Shay, and Lucas and said "You all handled that poorly. I thought that way least the three of you could take her on and knock her out of something!"
"We didn't want to hurt her, Mom," said Quint while looking at Simone.
"I understand that, but as you can see, all you needed to do was incapacitate her. Sometimes that means hurting your friends and love ones," responded Mary while putting Simone down, "You never know when you might come against an opponent they can take over minds or if your friend will turn against you."
"What are we going to do about her?" asked Shay.
"I don't know, but she's dangerous," said Lucas.
"Leave that to me. She's here so she can control her impulses. When she becomes angry, another being that lives inside her takes over. This worsens when she's hungry. So we need to watch out for her and make sure that she doesn't become hangry," answered Mary.
"What do you mean by she gets taken over by another being? Can't we just remove it?" asked Quint.
"The being inside of her is the source of most of her life force. She had a terrible accident as a child that should have killed her, but she survived it. The being claimed that it's giving her life. Therefore, it can't be removed. Her only chance is to control it and gain access to it's powers simultaneously," explained Mary.
Shay, Quint, and Lucas looked at Simone's unconscious body feeling sympathy for her.
"So, when she arrived, the being was the one conversing with us?" asked Quint.
"Yes." answered Mary with assurance.
Quint took another look at Simone and the need to protect her overcame him. Mary recognized the look.
"There goes that look again. I knew he would feel the need to protect her. He put too much responsibility on himself. Just like his father, always putting other ahead of himself," thought Mary as she stared at Quint.
"Such a thing actually exist in our world. I'm sure she's had a hard life growing up. Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on her," said Shay aloud.
"Let's all make sure we keep food on our person to help out," said Lucas to the group.
"Better make it chocolate," said Mary as she reached into her pocket pulled out a chocolate bar. She opened it up slightly, just enough to expose some chocolate. Simone sprung up and ate the chocolate bar. As she finished it, she noticed everyone looking at her. Her cheeks became red. "Don't stare at me when I'm eating guys," said Simone to everyone. She then became sad as she realized that she must've went on another rampage. She looked at the surrounding area and saw trees that were recently knocked over and craters in the ground. "Oh, I'm sorry," said Simone with tears running down her face. She then said more attention to Quint, Shay, and Lucas and noticed their injuries. She started crying even more and said "I'm sorry for hurting you all. I'll leave if you want me to."
"Don't leave!" they all said.
Simone looked surprised by their statement. "I don't want to hurt you all again," said Simone while she looked at her hands, "I still can't control this power so you all should stay away from me."
Mary approached Simone and put a hand on her shoulder. "We're here to help you. We understand your situation and are more than willing to help you," said Mary to Simone.
A smile began to come across Simone's face. Lucas, Quint, and Shay walked over and gave her a hug. "We're not abandoning you,"said Shay.
"We'll help you control whatever is living inside of you," said Lucas.
"Stay and we can have this problem together," said Quint.
Simone felt happy. For the first time, she had a support system and possibly friends. It's been forever since anyone had wanted to even be around her, let alone be her friend because of her condition.
Deep within Simone's consciousness, a voice speaks and says "These people will leave you like all the others, I'll make sure of that!"
Simone heard the voice, but chose to ignore it and enjoy this moment.
