Mary had left Lucas down on the ground unconscious and flew away towards Quint. "Mom is heading towards me now! I haven't felt a power like he's before! I got to hit her first!" thought Quint. He closed his eyes and suppressed his power and ran under some trees.
Mary stopped in the middle of the air when she felt Quint's power disappear. "My son is smart and has an instinct for battle. When did he learn to hide his power? I'll find him though," said Mary aloud as she drifted towards the area Quint was last located.
Quint watched as she got within the same vicinity as him. Two seconds later, a streak of electricity flew right by him. Quint looked frozen in place after noticing that the attack. His face and palms began to sweat. "There's no way she could see me," thought Quint.
"Come on out son! I didn't raise a coward!" shouted Mary into the air. Quint didn't move a muscle and reduced his breathing. After a minute passed, Mary fired another streak of electricity in a different direction. "Ok, that proves that she doesn't know where I'm at. Mom's impatient, so all I got to do is wait until she drops her guard and that will be my time to strike," thought Quint as he began to even slow his heart beat.
Mary raised a hand into the air and brought it down while pointing below her. Right after, a huge bolt of lightning struck the ground below her. The electricity dispersed in all directions, traveling in a one mile radius. Quint was hit by the electricity and shouted in pain as the electricity traversed throughout his body.
"Did you think that hiding from me would work? I have plans for almost every situation I come across. That includes someone hiding from me," shouted Mary to Quint. Quint regained his composure and launched Fireballs at Mary, but she calmly dodged them. "I have the advantage in the air, son," said Mary aloud. She then descended onto the beach. "We'll fight on equal ground," said Mary while approaching Quint slowly.
"So we're having some good old fisticuffs?" asked Quint.
"Yes, I have to make sure you can still get down with the best of them," replied Mary.
"Oh these hands are ready!" shouted Quint.
Mary then charged at Quint with a strong punch. Quint stood there and prepared to block her punch. "He's not gonna even going to dodge it? Ok, I'll switch it up then," thought Mary as she stopped her punch and immediately switched to a spinning heel kick. Quint evaded the attack and nearly punched Mary in the face, but she dodged the punch by less than an inch. Quint jumped back, creating space between he and Mary.
"I see that all of those laps have made you a lot faster," said Mary.
"I almost got you, Mom. Fire Fist!!" replied Quint.
Just then, flames burst from Quint's hands and wrapped around his fists and forearms. He charged at her ferociously, his flames burning hotter and hotter with each strike! Mary blocked every punch, but the result left her hands a little burned.
Mary looked at her hands and smiled. "His flames are pretty intense. Training is really paying off for him. Oh well, time to end this!" thought Mary. She then fired a ray of electricity into the sky.
Quint watched the ray go into the sky and thought about when he saw the same thing earlier. "In a couple of minutes, a bolt of lightning will come down. That will be my time to strike her down!" thought Quint.
"You look like a man with a plan," commented Mary.
Quint smiled and said "Yup, I'm going to win this fight!"
He raised his hands and fired flames from them at Mary. Mary immediately surrounded herself with spirit energy and walked right through the flames. Quint flickered behind her and attempted to strike her, but she let loose electricity behind her.
"I'm always watching my back and striking from behind is obvious," said Mary.
Mary then flickered above Quint, moving faster than before and came down with a crackling punch to his face! The punch was charged with her electricity! Quint hit the ground, writhing in pain! Mary raised her hand and lowered!
"Here we go!" thought Quint.
A bolt of lighting came down, but that's what Quint expected. He flickered in front of Mary as the bolt of hit the ground! Mary noticed just before Quint almost punched her. She dodged the punch, but still received a scratch from the force of the punch. She was shocked for a second and so was Quint. May then smiled as another bolt of lightning hitting the two of them.
Mary stood there unaffected by the attack. Quint, on the other hand, was burned all over from the lightning, surprisingly still standing and breathing heavily.
"Oh, you are still standing. I'm actually surprised. I didn't expect you to predict that first lightning bolt and counter me the way you did. That is why you were smiling. It was a nice plan, and it would've worked on someone not as skilled as me. I bet you thought that you could beat me with that, huh?"
"No..... I knew... I couldn't win. You're way too strong. I just wanted... to be able to land.... a hit on you." answered Quint while breathing heavily.
"Sounds like your father! That kind of thinking will get you killed. Survive! If you're in a fight that you can't win, then run! There is no shame in that!" yelled Mary.
"No! I can't run!" yelled Quint.
"Then fight me!" yelled Mary.
Quint raised his power level and said "Hakugun!"
The attack was bigger than normal and burned with more intensity. Mary stood there as the attack approached her.
"Witness the difference in our power!"shouted Mary.
She then swatted the attack away into the air! Quint was shocked at what he witnessed.
"There are beings in this world that are way stronger than you! If you want to protect this world, get stronger! Train harder and face me again!" said Mary.
She then rushed Quint and punched him in the gut. He then puked and raised his head back up with defiance. With the little energy he had left, he raised his fist and pressed it against her face.
"There, I got you," said Quint as he fell unconscious while still standing.
