Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Simone vs. Feng

As Shay and Lucas engage in their battles, Simone rushed to her opponent. She was shocked at how fast she could run. She could have dreamed that her body could perform like this. "That training really helped. I mean, I'm passing up cars on the highway and I'm nowhere near tired. I only hope that I can remember all that combat training that Mrs. Tate gave me," thought Simone while closing in on the demon.

The demon was just standing in the middle of the street, not moving. Citizens were sitting in their cars blowing their horns at the demon draped in fur. "Get out of street you idiot!" yelled a man while in his car. The demon turned and looked at the man, his eyes turned red and the man was scared stiff. The police arrived to the scene. An officer approached him and said, "Sir, you're disrupting the flow of traffic. Is there something wrong?" The demon continued to stand there without acknowledging the officer. "Sir, I'm going to have to arrest you if you don't move," said the officer while still confused and on edge. The officer reached for the demon's wrists to handcuff him, but the demon snatched his hands away and folded them in front of him. "He's resisting arrest!" said the officer into his radio. Immediately three other officers arrived to the scene and fired taser guns at the demon. The demon was unaffected by the electricity, it only seemed to piss him off. He looked down at the officers and raised his hand and gathered energy into it. He fired a blast at the officers and the attack went right through them and exploded when it got the street, effectively killing everyone I'm the blast zone.

Simone arrived on the scene and saw the destruction that the demon had caused. "I've been waiting on you. I was hoping that I would face the one with the strongest spirit power level. I am Feng, servant to Master Tupp of the Four Imperials. Let's get this over with, the master ordered me to finish you quickly," announced Feng.

"Why did you kill those people?! They couldn't have deserved that!" yelled Simone.

Feng looked her in eyes with a straight face and said, "Because…. They annoyed me and I needed silence. That's why I killed them and you're starting to annoy me with all of pity for those weaklings that I killed."

"Someone could actually be so evil. Mrs. Tate did tell me that demons are heartless and sometimes purely evil. I never thought I would run into someone like this. Someone so imposing! It's hard to breathe around him! I wasn't trained for this!" thought Simone as she was sweating and breathing heavily.

"Impressive, I've been trying to suppress your power with my demon energy and yet you're still standing. I can tell this is your first time experiencing it though, you can barely breathe under my power. I'll kill you quickly so that you won't suffer any longer," said Feng while observing Simone.

Feng raised his fists and four claws protruded from the back of his hands. He slashed at Simone with both claws, crossing them. Simone's body didn't react and was hit by the attack causing her to hit the ground on her back. Feng started to walk away, but then he noticed Simone getting back up.

"Oh, you survived that attack. What a pity, I hoped to use as little energy on you as possible. I guess I can't guarantee a quick death, but death is will guaranteed," said Feng as we watched Simone get back up.

"That didn't hurt as bad ass I thought it would," thought Simone while she looked at the areas she was struck.

"The only guaranteed death around here is yours!" replied Simone as she got into her fighting stance.

"You sound confident! I'll show you where false confidence gets you," retorted Feng.

Feng leaped high into the air and came down slashing at Simone, but she repelled his attack by raising her psychic shield. Simone smiled at what she had done, but that only angered Feng. Feng prided himself on this physical strength and to have his attack repelled was a blow to his ego and it reminded him of the last time he felt this way.

============================

Over 50 years ago, Feng was a warrior who traveled the demon world traveling and looking for meaningful battles. He especially enjoyed battling beasts because they truly relied on their instincts in battles to the death. After he would kill a beast demon, he would skin them and eat their meat. He soon began doing this to other, more intelligent demons. He continually went from battle to battle looking for an opponent stronger than him, someone who could help him achieve new heights in his power. One day while Feng was filleting a demon he had just killed, he was instantly surrounded by a group of soldiers.

"Come with us and serve the Demon King!" commanded a soldier.

Feng continued to skin the demon.

"Did you hear me!" yelled the soldier while getting agitated.

"I fight for no one, only for the thrill of battle," said Feng as he stood up.

The demon soldiers grabbed his sword and charged at Feng and starts swinging his sword at him with the intent to kill. Feng easily dodged the swings and punched the soldier in the chest, killing him. Another two soldiers rush him from opposite directions, creating a pincer attack. He raised his two arms towards the soldiers and blasted them, completely obliterating them. The other surrounding demon soldiers began backing down and trembling in fear.

"It's too late to back down now. I'm going to kill all of you until I find a worthy opponent," said Feng as his eyes glowed red.

He then released the claws from the back of his hands and ran through the group of runaway soldiers slashing each of them. His claws went right through their weapons and armor, rendering them useless. After slaying them, Feng was drenched in their blood. He stood straight up and admired his work, but this was not the battle he'd been looking for. All of the sudden, he could feel a huge presence smothering him, forcing him to his knees. As the pressure let up, Feng raised his head and saw Tupp approaching.

"To think that someone who can't stand in my presence killed my whole unit. Stand up and fight me!" ordered Tupp.

Feng stood up slowly, as if his body was too afraid to. "What's wrong with me?! I'm sweating and I'm…I'm worried. Is this…is this fear? Is this the opponent I've been looking for?" thought Feng.

Tupp took a fighting stance and said, "Good, you're ready!"

Feng instinctively took a defensive stance and thought to himself, "I've never stood like this. No matter the opponent, I've always left myself wide open for attacks, but against him, my body automatically got defensive. This is what I've always wanted, to fight someone dangerous to fight."

Feng then overcame how fear and ran towards Tupp and attempted to strike him with his claws, but Tupp repelled the attack easily. Feng had a look of shock on his face as Tupp repelled his attack and disappeared before his eyes. Then Tupp chopped him in the back of his neck from behind, incapacitating Feng. Feng laid on the ground, unable to move, staring at Tupp in awe.

"Your power belongs to me now. You will fight on my behalf and in turn, I will train you and make you more powerful than you ever could imagine," stated Tupp.

"Yes master," said Feng as he began losing consciousness.

========================

Feng surrounded his claws with energy and started bashing against Simone's shield with his claws. With each strike, he's pushing her back further and further. Simone tried using her telekinesis to force Feng back, but while he's in his furious state, he resisted and kept bashing away at the shield. Cracks started to appear on the shield as the result of Feng's onslaught.

"He's breaking through and I can't repair it in time! I can't compete with his physical might, so I'll have to rely on my psychic powers," thought Simone.

Feng finally shattered the shield and attempted to stab Simone with his claws, but she skillfully dodged the attack by jumping out of the way over Feng. Feng chased after her, but she used her telekinesis to keep putting concrete debris behind her. Feng slashed right through all of it and continued to chase behind her.

"He got angry when I blocked his attack, I can use that to my advantage!" thought Simone as she stopped running.

"I got you now!" yelled Feng as he slash at Simone.

"Just where I want you!" thought Simone as she turned around and prepared to block the attack.

She then focused her shield on the area that Feng slashed at and repelled his attack again! Feng became enraged because how attack was blocked again by someone he considers weaker than his master. Feng started attacking wildly, with no strategy, no planned movement, just the intent to kill. Shay started easily dodging his attack which pissed him off even more.

"Someone like you can't possibly block or evade me!" yelled Feng in anger.

Simone stood there confidently and said, "I was hiding my speed and strength earlier. I guess you're not strong enough for me."

This struck a nerve for Feng and blindly charged Simone. Simone gather her energy and blasted Feng with a huge psychic blast. Feng collapsed from the attack. Simone walked over to him.

"How? How was I defeated?" asked Feng.

"I guess I can tell you. I'm not faster or stronger than you, so I needed a different way to beat you, so I pretended to be," answered Simone.

"I don't understand," responded Feng.

"I was getting to that. I used my telekinesis to throw your attacks slightly off, making it look like I dodged them. You were so angry because I blocked your attack earlier, you didn't even realize what I was doing. And after that, all I had to do was act like it was nothing, thus making you think that I was faster than you. And all of this was achievable due to your brittle ego over me deflecting your attack earlier. I'm actually pretty proud that I came up with such a plan on the fly!" explained Simone.

Feng laughed and said, "I'm defeated over something so trivial. Go ahead and kill me. I'm no use to the master now."

"I'm not a killer," said Simone as she walked away.

Tears ran down from Feng's eyes. Deep down in his heart, he pitied himself. Simone's eyes glowed purple and turned around and blasted Feng with another psychic blast, eradicating him.

"The girl may not be a killer, but I am," said the being.

"I didn't tell you that you could take over said Simone to the being.

"Never leave a demon alive. He would've came back stronger and possibly kill you, so I had to kill him," responded the being.

"If that's the case then I would've just found him again! Unnecessary killing is wrong!" said Simone.

"Girl, if you can't do it, than I will every time. I won't give them that chance to come back and kill us. You better learn that when dealing with demons, killing is the best option," started the being.
