Chapter 9 - Chapter 9.Summons on Griamore

Hiro's vengeance wasn't complete however he left Serabeft and headed back to train with Theo. Meanwhile, the high blood elves created a summons for the Vencartus, a dragon descended clan and the Flameborn dwarves. These are the only clans known to the High Blood elves that use fire outside of dragons. A representative from both the Vencartus and the Flameborn meet prince Egalhearth in Griamore. The representatives are guided to a banquet hall where food and drink are provided to the guests. The table was large enough to seat 40 people. Axios the regent of the Vencartus, and Mioteeg of the Flameborn dwarves were seated next to prince Sasuna Egalhearth.

"Welcome to Griamore Axios of the Vencartus and Mioteeg of the Flameborn. This minor banquet is to show our gratitude for you arriving so soon after our summons. I am Prince Sasuna Egalhearth next in line for the throne of the High Bloods. Tis a pleasure to meet you both."

Axios is seated and starts off his greeting to Sasuna and Mioteeg.

"I, the regent of the Vencartus, Axios Ignos have accepted this summons with the impression we have important matters to discuss."

"As have I! The dwarves are the greatest smiths in Alctora. Blessed by the god Hephaestus himself, so every second I am here means we lose precious smithing time. So the summons better be of equal value."

"I'm sure this matter will be important to both of you. If you know of this matter then what I will say will be of little surprise. But this information may change the reputation of the clans involved. "

"Well hurry up and get to it. My body already aches for fire and metal. This castle in Griamore is a little too dainty and elegant for my liking."

"Very well but I'm sure you'd have learned of this information in a few days. The Yakioni have been brutally and soundly destroyed."

Both Axios and Mioteeg were shocked by this information.

"So I see you're unaware of this."

"The High Bloods have officially beaten the Yakioni????!!!!!!???? Those monsters are formidable I'm quite surprised you elves could accomplish such a task."

"I don't understand why we were summoned. I'm sure your victory would have reached our mines eventually. "

"I would not need the summons if that were the case. Our battle with the Yakioni has lasted several thousand years and we have been at a constant stalemate ever since."

"We are aware of this but I don't see how this is any of our concern."

"The Yakioni weren't defeated by us. As much as we'd benefit from their demise we have not defeated them. But the Yakioni was left paralyzed and magicless."

Mioteeg stands up with such force it knocked food off the table.

"What do you mean by Magicless??? Who could do such a thing? I've heard only gods can take away magic!"

"A scout of ours was doing recon on the Yakioni after our last battle and some fire-wielding halfling or dwarf took out nearly a thousand Yakioni inside Serabeft by himself. Your clans are the only fire magic users in this region of Alctora so you can see the reason to summon you here"

"As much as I'd love to make the great and powerful elves quake in their self-righteous booties it was not the dwarves to have such a threat to our mutual interests."

"I'm sure a hundred of the greatest Vencartian soldiers could take out the Yakioni for we are descended from dragons. However, neither do we have such a formidable warrior to take out the Yakioni singlehandedly."

"Then obviously there is a third party that can take out some of the most formidable fighting force of all demihumans single-handedly. If that was just one imagine an army of them. The elves, the Vencartus, and Dwarves would all be taken out if they so willed it."

"The more important question Prince Egalhearth is why did they target the Yakioni? Maybe this has nothing to do with us at all."

"We dwarves only make weapons we don't use them. We have treaties with all races to make the weaponry upon request in exchange for gold. Surely if this creature wanted to cripple your armies they'd have targeted us first."

"Perhaps it was a strategy to strong-arm negotiations once they finally approach us."

"Or a prelude to our demise. We can speculate infinitely but the fact of the matter is we know nothing about their goals or desires."

"If they approach the dwarves we will make a treaty with them as we have done for centuries."

"Prince Egalhearth and Mioteeg what if this new threat only desires our complete and utter destruction our only choice would seem to cooperate."

"I only summoned you here to find out if either of your clans were involved, however, now that I know you were not I have no further need for cooperation. The High Blood elves don't need help from smiths incapable of fighting and a clan descendant from lizards. That is the message you can give to your leaders. Enjoy your fill. The servants will prepare your rooms for the night. This will be the last time we see each other I bid you farewell."

Prince Egalhearth leaves the meeting and walks down the halls of the castle where he is quickly greeted by an envoy between himself and his army's general.

"What should I tell the general about the meeting my lord."

"Tell him that the Vencartus and the Dwarves were not involved but send out scouts to find out whom it is involved. I must go speak to my father we have important matters to discuss."
