Hiro and Angelica arrive in Dwarvenguard. Hiro wasn't certain as to where Theo was located. They searched the town until they found a brothel that Theo was walking out of with two women at his side. Shocked and Angry Hiro snapped.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OLD MAN!!!!"
"Hold on a minute ladies I have to talk to the boy for a second. "
Hiro tries to hit Theo out of frustration but Theo just grabs him and throws him into a building. Hiro keeps charging at Theo trying to hit him and Theo just dodges out of the way and keeps throwing him into different buildings. Angelica is shocked by Theo's ability to overpower Hiro.
"I've seen Hiro takedown an entire clan of trolls and he fought the Yakioni. This old man is completely overpowering him with no effort."
Theo puts Hiro on the ground by his face.
"I rushed here this and this whole time you were being a dirty old pervert."
"Are you done with your little tantrum boy? I have some interesting information for you and by the way who is the girl?"
"She says she's my cousin. "
"She's certainly half-elf and half-human. My apologies young lady for my very rude pupil he has a problem with his temper I hope he didn't cause you any trouble. "
"Oh not at all I found him."
"Hmm well anyways boy let's get something to eat we have much to discuss."
Hiro is frustrated but agrees and they head to a tavern in Dwarvenguard. The sit-down and eat and drink.
"So I see you didn't die boy I suppose this is cause for celebration."
Hiro gets up to go use the restroom leaving Angelica and Theo alone to talk.
"You knew what he was doing and you let him go anyways?"
"Of course, I'm the one who sent him there."
"My cousin could have been killed over your vendetta against demihumans!"
"You're mistaken, young lady. I do have those I seek vengeance towards but I have no negative feelings towards demihumans in any way. "
"Then why is Hiro so set on killing so many Demihumans?"
"You'll have to ask him that. I may have added firewood but that burning internal fire of hate isn't something I put there. "
"The Hiro my mother told me about was sweet and kind there's no way that he'd be this angry."
"Losing everything you've ever loved tends to have a tainting effect on the soul. I don't think he'll be this way forever I'm sure after he gets his revenge he'll realize it's hollow and empty."
"I'm not so sure about that. I see the anger at the surface but I see something deeper down. It's cruel and dark. It's like he enjoys what he's doing."
"That may have some truth to it. You were born half-elf yes? So you don't know what it's like to be completely helpless to another being's will without being able to do anything about it. I imagine that kind of helpless burns a desire in the soul for power. It's like a wild animal being born into captivity and breaks it's bindings and escapes into the wild. It'll attack anything trying to make it heel. No matter how much you wish to understand him you'll never truly understand what he feels until you are that helpless. You might surprise yourself by what you turn into."
Angelica looks down concerned for Hiro.
"Now tell me, young lady, why are you traveling with such an unhinged companion? It can't be just because he's family."
"I wish to ask for his help in saving my father from the High Blood elves. As unhinged as he is I've seen his strength and it's terrifying."
"So you wish to use him for your own ends as well hmm? I suppose we're not so different in that regard. If he helps you he may never turn back into the cousin you desire. Are you willing to risk that possibility for the sake of your father?"
Angelica gives Theo a serious and stern look.
"Yes! I'm sure once we save my father he can help Hiro get back to himself I'm sure of it."
"Theo smiles at the unwavering faith she has in her father.
"Any father would be lucky to have a daughter like you. But I must ask you a question you must consider."
"Very well ask me anything."
"I suppose knowing Hiro for a while I assume he didn't kill anyone he fought did he?"
"He's only ever killed one person."
"Oh? Interesting let me guess it was an elf?"
"Yes, how did you know?"
"As much as he despises demihumans he doesn't blame them all for the death of his village and family. That honor solely rests on the heads of the elves that used Reaper's Law to wipe out his humanity."
"Reaper's Law...? My father told me about that spell before. He said it was a powerful spell used by the Elven army to wipe out an enemy but was used as a last resort because it destroys the enemy all life around it. How did you know about that?"
"I know much young lady. Do you think you'll be able to save what he'll become after he slaughters all those elves? You may not know much about the elves but you are still half-elf."
Angelina thinks about what Theo had just said. She had never really thought about what Hiro killing all of part of her kind would mean. Just then two ogres went flying through the wall. Hiro was cracking his knuckles after throwing them. He walks over to the table Angelica and Theo are sitting at and sits down.
"I was wondering what was taking you so long boy."
" I had gone to use the chamber pot and I'd run into some loud-mouthed ogres. I had to teach them a lesson in mutual respect."
"Hiro I had told you not to start any trouble."
"Yes, In Endalsmith were in Dwavernguard I was getting antsy."
"We can fight if you like, boy."
"Bring it on old man!"
"I'm sorry Sir Theo didn't you have important information for Hiro."
'Oh, I almost forgot. Anyways there are two bits of news we must discuss. Firstly I was talking to an old friend of mine and I've come up with a way to make you stronger all I need is some phoenix tears and hydra blood. I need you to acquire hydra blood I'll handle the phoenix tears. But that's for another day. The High Blood elves are opening Griamore for the public execution of a few different traitors from different demihuman kingdoms. Since Elves have the most powerful magic amongst them they always handle the executions of criminals."
"Does that mean my father will be there?"
"Perhaps, but there's no guarantee he might have already been executed. This is a perfect time to get into Griamore without worrying about the barrier."
"It looks like I don't need your help after all."
"Perhaps not but I believe bringing her along might provide insight for herself and there's no harm in having a companion like her along. People with strong motivations make for powerful allies. Young lady leave us for a bit me and the boy have somethings to discuss."
"I'll take my leave then."
"Thank you, young lady."
Angelica leaves and rents out a room in an inn for the night.
"Now boy the method I've discovered might kill you but if you survive you will gain enough power to go hand to hand with a mythical beast or even a demigod and win."
"I don't care about the risk. I'm in."
"Do you think you're being a little too consumed by your desire for power?"
"Ever since I can remember I was afraid my parents would tell me stories of all the dangerous demihumans and things that could kill me in an instant. For the first time, I'm not afraid. I'm excited."
"Ever heard the story of Icarius boy?"
"No. What's it about?"
"It's a story of caution. He and his father were obsessed with the birds and being able to fly. The made wings of feathers, wood, and wax. They leaped from the highest peak and jumped. They begin to flap their massive wings and few. His father warned him not to fly too high because the wax could melt. Not content with just flying Icarius didn't listen he flew higher and higher until he was too close to the sun and the wax melted. The wings fell apart and he crashed to his death. Don't think yourself so untouchable that you fly too close to the sun."
"I'm aware of my limits better than anyone but if I don't push I may never get strong enough to never lose anything else again."
"And if that girl is your family are you willing to potentially lose her in pursuit of your crusade?"
"Yes, because if I'm not strong enough to stop whatever threatens me then I'd just lose her anyways. I don't even know if we are family or if I can trust her."
"I don't get the feeling that girl would lie. If you want to know the truth save that father of hers and ask him yourself. What's the harm if they're lying you can just kill them what's too more elves in the grand scheme of things."
Hiro and Theo continue to talk about what he had been doing and the battles he fought thus far. They headed off to sleep and Theo watched Hiro walk off.
"Not much longer now. Soon I'll be able to tell him my real objective soon enough."
