Hiro and Angelica wake up at dawn and say goodbye to Willaim and Erica. Angelica gives the magical item to William and imbues it with magical energy to set up a barrier around the town. They begin their journey to Dwarvenguard Angelica mounts her elk she had stashed in the forest and Hiro begins to run. They continue heading due west and Hiro keeps up with the elk.
" Hey cousin, When you were fighting the Alcaton I saw you use magic."
"What do you mean?"
"You were surrounded by trolls and you melted their weapons."
"Yeah what about it?"
"Humans can't use fire magic they barely can use magic moreover you are incredibly strong and fast."
"What are you getting at?"
"I'm trying to say either you're not my cousin or you're not human anymore."
"Firstly I never said I was your cousin I'm still not even sure this isn't a trap, and secondly, as far as I know, I'm still human."
"Humans can't fight trolls barehanded like you did and they're not as fast as an animal running on all fours."
"I train a lot nowadays."
"That doesn't explain anything. What happened to you to make you so strong?"
"I met someone with a whole lot of mysterious power and a very high disdain for gods."
"Is that who we're going to meet?"
"Yeah, he told me to meet him there for some reason within a week so that's where we're going. "
Just then Hiro sensed something approaching them.
Have we been followed? Dammit is it this girl's fault?
Hiro gets shot at by an arrow and dodges out of the way and jumps up into the air so that he can't be seen by the assailant. The mystery assailant shoots arrows at Angelica wounding the elk and launches her a few meters away.
"Hey I don't care if you shoot at that elf girl but shooting at me was a huge mistake."
Hiro torches the entire area with his flame shot and it pushes him in the air.
"Cool, maybe I could use this to fly."
Angelica uses a water spell to put out the fire so they could see the assailant. It was an elf in soldier attire.
"This is a member of the elven scout regiment. I wonder what he's doing here?"
"Doesn't matter because I'm going to kill him."
"No! Think about it for a second! If we keep him alive we can ask him about information about my father."
"Nah I'm not taking any chances."
Hiro lights the elf on fire burning him to ashes. Angelica pushes him out of anger.
"Why did you do that? We could have found out if my father was alive or where they're keeping him."
Hiro turns calmly to her.
"I don't know what you think this is exactly but I don't plan on letting a single one of those bastards live. I told you I might end up killing you and that father of yours by accident if you get in my way if you're family or not. I still have no reason to believe you are who you say you are or your motivations. For all that I know you're the one that told him where we were headed and you've been working with the High Blood elves in Griamore."
"I could see how it looks that way but he shot at me as well."
"He shot your elk and as I recall you're pretty much unscathed so being shot at isn't an indication of innocence. You could have planned it to look like an ambush and then if I managed to kill him you'd play the victim as to gain my trust. "
"You don't trust a single word I've said do you?"
"No, I don't. All I know is you want me to come with you to Griamore. And as far as I see it I wasn't followed until you were tagging along. I still haven't decided if I'll kill you or not."
"Fine! Don't believe me, I'm just trying to save my father and I need your help."
"Then we do things my way. If I even think you're going to betray me our little partnership is null and void and if you get in my way I'll light you up like a candle."
With Angelica's elk wounded she couldn't ride it.
"If we don't make it to Dwarvenguard in time because you slow me I'll just leave you behind."
"I may not be as fast as you but I can run fairly swiftly."
"I'm not going to slow down so keep up."
Hiro and Angelica begin running to Dwarvenguard. She isn't as fast as Hiro but isn't lagging too far behind. They react Endalsmith a town close to Dwarvenguard. A dwarf approaches them once they are about to enter Endalsmith. The town was blocked by a large gate made of iron and wood.
"My name is Fallteeg. I'm one of the guardian smiths of Endalsmith. State your business or I can't let you into Endalsmith. We've heard a rumor of a rogue elf that escaped the Elven guard. We have a cohesive relationship with the elves and I can't let some mystery elf and some uhhhh....human in without asking a few questions."
Hiro walks up and grabs Fallteeg's shirt and is ready to kill him. Angelica seeing the threat Hiro posed to their safe passage she intervenes.
"My name is Falara Lo'Maarel and this is my human companion Ummm John. I have a royal elven seal that allows passage into any city for any diplomatic endeavors. We are headed to Dwarvenguard for such an occasion."
She hands him a paper from her robe and he looks over it for a few seconds. He hands the paper back to her and bows.
"My humblest apologies Lady Lo'Maarel. I didn't wish to impede the journey of the royal regent. Please don't mention this to his royal elven highness."
"I'll forgive you for your indiscretion just this once. Please move out of our way."
"Yes, of course, my lady. Welcome to Endalsmith! "
The dwarf opens the gate and Hiro and Angelica walk through the town seeing all of the incredible inventions of the dwarves.
"How did you get your hands on a royal seal?"
"It's a forgery. My father gave it to me so that I wouldn't be stopped on my way into different places."
"I could have just broken my way through."
"Yes and then we would have alerted the dwarven guard and any other potential threats."
"That's fine with me."
"Unlike you, I don't like heading into battles every day. Sometimes these things take a little finesse. Aside from that, I'm exhausted I've never run so much in my life."
"Fine, we'll rest here for the night."
Angelica is walking and looking at Hiro. She accidentally runs into an ogre.
"What are you looking at elf?"
Hiro looks up at him ready to take him down. Angelica sees this and starts pushing Hiro away.
"Nope!"'
She apologies for not watching where she's going and the ogre just shrugs it off and walks away.
"Are you just trying to get into a fight?"
"Yeah, it feels good to beat the hell out of demis who have looked down on humans for so long. They think they're untouchable well until they get touched."
"There is a time for fighting and a time for restraint"
"If everyone believed that my family wouldn't be dead."
" I understand how you feel but at least for tonight no fighting please."
"Fine, just for tonight."
They find an inn and sleep until dawn they leave Edalsmith and finally arrive at Dwarvenguard.
