Silvano drove us into the darker side of Lecce, Italy. Many people would pretend that nothing happened, only if you could pay them off. Unfortunately, this happened all of the time. He turned down Akson street. The were fewer and fewer light posts, but there were many popular bars.

At the corner was a bar called the drunken olive. At the side of the building were scantily dressed women trying to gain a few euros. No matter how hard I tried to judge them I couldn't. They were all women of circumstance. Of course some were trying to pay for drugs, but for others this was the only way they could have a better life. After we drove a for 15 more minutes we arrived at our destination.

I grabbed my silver revolver out of my bagged and made sure it was loaded I put the extra bullets in my hip pocket. I slipped a few daggers into my clothing. There was one in my boot that I hooked into the strap, bra, and in my hair bun. Silver looked over at me and grimaced.

"Is all of that really necessary?" He asked me.

"Yes, you never know what you are walking into. For all you know there could be security." My voice dripped with harsh words.

The building that we would be going into looked as though it had been built in the 40's. Some off the stone work was falling off in chunks. The wooden door looked as though it began to rot.

"This is Alpha, requesting that units Theta and Gamma follow. All other units set up a 2 mile perimeter." I called in on the channel.

"Copy that Alpha." The other units responded. I opened the car door. I then put on my black gloves, and bulletproof vest.

"Operation Blue Elephant is a go. Move out!"

Silvano and I headed to the front door. Unit Theta went around back and unit Gamma followed us. I slowly turned the old door knob, and heard it click. It was unlocked. I turned the door inwards and carefully stepped inside. We started to clear all of the rooms one by one. The rooms were all very minimalistic, but kept in good condition. There were three bedrooms two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a basement. There was no one there.

"Ma'am you might want to come see this." An officer said in a hushed tone and I started to make my way to the basement. It was decorated as if it was a study. There were five bookshelves filled to the brim. There was also an old mahogany desk, on which sat a ship in a bottle. I walked across the floor and heard an echo beneath my feet. There was a hollow part in the floor. I pulled the officer over to help me move the heavy fur carpet and bookshelf.

Under the carpet we found a wooden hatch that had two flights of stone stairs leading downwards. There was only faint lighting from the flickering lanterns in the musty space. The further down you went the worse it smelled. It reeked of decay, blood, and defecation.

We all remained silent as we were terrified of what we would find. The smell of iron and everything else was to much for some as they struggled not to retch. We were all filled with dread; we were not sure what or who we would find down there. When we finally made our way down we came across another door, but this time it was solid metal. The door was locked.
