The couple were set off to a place where they would be spending the next four days. Elizabeth was busy the past two days because of her work. She completed a part of her work before in hand as she was taking leave and didn't want to be stressed out after coming from the vacation. Elizabeth had no idea where they were going. Neither did she ask Aaron nor did he tell her anything about the place.
They both got down at the airport and got into their car. Aaron was busy reading his files while Elizabeth was enjoying the breeze blowing against them. She saw the giant gates open, as soon as the car took a turn to go inside. The building was huge, bigger than the house they were living. The servants bowed short to greet them and got back to their works after Elizabeth and Aaron entered inside the mansion. The place he took her was one of his farmhouses. The shining floor was well polished and the stairs were wide. Elizabeth raised her head to look up and saw the roof to be in a Dome shape. Elizabeth wondered if it was his grandfather's farmhouse.
"How many farmhouses does your grandfather have?" Elizabeth asked Aaron who was a step behind her.
"I don't know," he replied.
"I'll show you around. Come with me," he said and didn't wait for an answer from her. Elizabeth followed his way looking at each and every thing in detail. The house was huge and beautiful. The carvings on the furniture was excellently done. She saw the sun rays pass through the huge glass windows. The windows were just of glass but they had paintings on it. The painting on the windows looked bright from inside as the sun rays fell on it and looked bright from the outside when the Dawn falls. The house was no less than a palace. But a girl like Elizabeth would choose a simple and a small house like Aaron's, rather than living in a huge house which gave a palace feel instead of a sweet home.
"These windows are beautiful!! " she exclaimed. "Your grandfather has a very good taste," she gave a compliment.
"Do you like this place?" he asked her bringing back to the place where they stood a while ago.
"It is nice, but I would prefer our house rather than living here," she said truth, looking at the ceiling. The man who stood behind her with his arms across his chest, had his lips quirk up into a smile when her answer was just as he thought it would be. Aaron knew each and every little thing when it came to Elizabeth. There were very few people about whom Aaron cared and Elizabeth was one of the very special one among them right from school. Even though he denies that he doesn't love her, there are things he did only for her without his conscience. Elizabeth who didn't hear any reply from him even after seconds passed, looked behind her to see him stare at her. "Where is our room?" she asked him in a soothing voice to drop his gaze away from her.
"That would've been our room if we stayed here," he pointed with his eyes to a room which was at the end of the first floor.
"What do you mean?" she asked him. As always, the man didn't answer to her question. "We will be staying somewhere else," he said. Elizabeth didn't understand what he meant by staying somewhere else.
"Why did you bring me to this place if we weren't staying here?" Elizabeth asked.
"Because grandpa wants us to stay here but I don't," he replied walking to the main door.
"What are we gonna do then?" she asked him.
"Simple. I'll tell him that we visited the place and then decided to stay somewhere else," he answered in nonchalance.
She sighed to his words and followed him to the car. Aaron took the car keys from the driver and told Elizabeth to sit in the front. Elizabeth didn't utter a word and sat in the front seat. Aaron was the one who drove the car and after few minutes of silence, Elizabeth asked him where were they going this time.
"Somewhere you might like," was his reply.
"What a jerk. Can't he even reply properly?" Elizabeth thought and didn't ask him any other question. Aaron who was driving, didn't miss to notice her sulky pout she had on her face. Their journey from his farmhouse to the place he took her was neither too long nor too short. Elizabeth's sulky pout turned into a smile when she looked out through the closed window.
"Are we going to stay here for the next three days?" Elizabeth's face was lit up with glee.
"Yes, " Aaron replied and smiled internally to see her face brighten with a smile.
"OASIS !!! " Elizabeth read the huge letters on the building.
There was a couple who stood a little away from them. And few people were far away from where they stood. The couple who stood a little away from them, walked towards Aaron and Elizabeth.
The man looked at Aaron, "Congratulations on getting married" he wished.
"Congratulations to you too, Mr. Ames," Aaron said to the man as he shook his hand with him.
Both the men didn't express their feelings much but they seemed to know each other well. Elizabeth wondered who that man was. He was as tall as Aaron and when it came to the appearance both the men were handsome. It would be hard for a person to tell who was handsome between them.
"She is my wife, Elizabeth," Aaron introduced his wife to them. "Elizabeth, this is Mr. Austin Ames and his wife Mrs. Jessica Ames, " Aaron introduced the couple to his wife. Elizabeth looked at the woman named Jessica in awe. She was aware that, Jessica was a famous fashion designer, but the girl looked simple yet elegant.
"I'm obliged to meet you both," Elizabeth gave a smile.
"So are we, Mrs. Winchester," said Jessica with a warm smile. Elizabeth blushed to Jessica's reply. It was the first time someone addressed her as Mrs. Winchester. The girl who had dreamt about her future with Aaron, felt extremely happy when she was being addressed as Mrs. Winchester. But at the same time there was an unknown feeling, which made her heart feel heavy.
"I hope you and your wife like the arrangements I've made for you," Austin said.
"Thankyou for the quick response, Mr. Ames" Aaron replied.
"The pleasure was all mine," said Austin.
"We have to leave now. It was good meeting you and your wife, Mr. Winchester," Austin added.
"I feel the same too," Aaron answered and shook his hand with Austin before he left with his wife.
"How do you know them?" Elizabeth asked him after the couple left.
"Business meetings," Aaron's words were short without much details.
"They look cute together," Elizabeth thought looking at the couple who were now far away from the place they stood. She noticed the way, the man cared for his wife by looking at the way he waited for his wife to get into the car.
"Do you want to go to the room or do you want to have a look around?" Aaron asked his wife.
"Room?" she repeated in her mind.
The night after coming from the Winchester's Mansion, Aaron teased her and pulled her closer to him leaving no gap between them. She saw Aaron's sharp eyes looking into her eyes. His eyes seemed as if he was telling something to her. She closed her eyes when she felt his breath as he moved closer to her face . The lips which were supposed to meet her soft lips never came. The next moment when she opened her eyes to see him with her heart thumping harder, felt his hand lose the grip around her waist and stepped back to attend a call he received. Elizabeth felt a lump on her throat when he just left the room without uttering any other word. Little did the she know that the call was from Austin Ames, who called Aaron to talk about the arrangements to be done in Oasis for them.
Elizabeth recollected the things that had happened that night. In these few days, Elizabeth saw his care towards her at the same time, she saw his hatred towards her. She wondered which of his sides were true. Her eyes were fixed upon the gigantic waves that were crashing the rocks, relentlessly. The sound of the waves roared through her ears as nostalgia hit her hard. Will there be a day where she would get to see the one she loved years ago?
