There is no way we are mates right? Ash can't be my mate. There has got to be a way to know for sure. Wouldn't his mark be the same as mine?
"We need to find someone who can explain these marks. Do you know anyone?" I ask Ash.
"Your parents. I remember them talking about them when you were a child. They told me they would mark you but I didn't understand at the time what they were talking about. Now I think I do" he replied back.
"Well now that I know they are alive and need my help, we can get them and try to understand this. I need you to call every good vampire you know, every werewolf, every witch. But you have to trust them. We will need them to defeat these vampires that took my parents." I spit out. He nods and rushes out of the bathroom.
This is all so complicated.
I snap out of my thoughts and glide out of the room. I need to go speak to Kyran. I walk across the hall and knock on his door. He opens it, surprised to see me and motions for me to come in. I walk in and turn around to face him
"Please, sit." I motion towards his bed and he walks over and sits down. " Now, explain to me why you didn't tell me you were my brother." His eyes go wide in shock
"Technically, im not your brother. Anyways, it's not important. What's important is our parents needing us."
I look at him and pace slowly back and forth.
"I have reinforcements coming in. We will leave tomorrow at dawn. Now these vampires, what do they want?" I calmly ask
"I already told you, they want you dead. They heard you were alive and they knew you would come once you got word they have your parents. They won't be easy to defeat. There are about two thousand vampires in that place. They are all very strong. Are you even prepared?" he says standing up. I laugh at this. I like to think I am pretty prepared.
I start thinking about my wings and they instantly pop out. "I think im pretty well prepared." Kyran looks at my extended wings in shock.
"What the hell" he shoots out. "Where did you get those? I've never seen a vampire with wings!"
"They came along with my transformation. I have alot of abilities as well. I've been practicing for the last two weeks." I smile at him. "I know it might not seem like a long enough time but this vampire shit comes naturally to me. I can feel each ability in me floating there waiting to be unleashed. I know there are more in me but haven't figured them out. I'm sure when we go to battle they will appear or I'll figure it out as I go." I'm interrupted by a knock on the door. I use one of my many abilities to open the door without looking at it.
"Ash, do you bring good news? I ask him.
"Yes, I contacted everyone I know. All of them will help us. I have about a thousand men and woman willing to fight by our sides. Wolfs, vampires and witches."
"Perfect, Ash this is Kyran....my brother." I move my hand and point a finger towards Kyran.
"It's a pleasure to meet you!" Ash says while moving over to Kyran to shake his hand.
"The pleasure is all mine. I've heard many great things of you from my parents. They think highly of you and what you did for Jessica. They are upset that they had to lie about being alive but they wanted to make sure you would both me safe." My brother finishes.
"Ash could you please find Eclipse and have her gather who she can. Explain we need as many people as possible. There are about two thousand vampires at the location we need to go to." He nods and quickly rushes out of the room.
"Kyran, tell me, do you have any experiences with mate marks?" I turn around and motion for him to unzip my dress. He just stands there and stares at me confused.
"I want to show you my mark. Please help me unzip my dress some. The mark is on the right side of my back." He undoes it half way and moves my dress to the right. He traces the mark with his fingers.
"Your mate is a wolf. Most likely Ash im assuming but I could be wrong. I don't know much but..." he pauses and moves his hand to the other side of my dress and moves my dress to the left and hes gasps.
"What, what it is?" I frantically move my hands about.
"Y-you have two marks!"
No fucking way! I run to the bathroom in his room and remove the top part of my dress and let it hang down at my waist. I turn my back towards the mirror and there it is. Another bright mark that's exactly like Ashers.
What the hell is going on. Kyran walks in and sees me then adverts his eyes away.
"I've never seen anything like that Jessica. No vampire has ever bared two marks. I know some people who have books on marks so once we get our parents figured out then we can worry about the marks later. Let's focus on what's important for now." He must notice the shock on my face and he comes over to me and pulls my dress up and zips it up then pulls me into a tight embrace.
We make our way out of the bathroom and Eclipse and Ash are standing there. They both bow their heads to me and then stand up straight again.
"My love, I have contacted everyone I know. Vampires and witches are traveling here as we speak. They know some others as well. We will have an army of creatures by dawn." Eclipse says moving towards me. I see Kyran give her a sharp look. If looks could actually kill, that one totally would of shot her right between the eyes.
"Perfect. We have our work cut out for us but I think we can do this." I look at them all smiling. "Now who could use some blood?" They all nod and we make our way to the dining area.
I open the giant double doors with a wave of my hand and motion for everyone to take a seat. I take Eclipses and Ashers hand and lead them to the head of the table. I sit Ash to the left of me and Eclipse to the right. I snap my fingers and a servant appears next to me.
"Please bring us all a bottle of our finest blood" I ask. The servant nods and rushes off. We all chat for a great deal of time then decide we all should get some rest. We all pile into the elevator and once the doors open we say our goodbyes to each other.
Eclipse and I are in our room getting undressed to lay down for bed.
"Eclipse" She gets startled at me saying her name and turns around.
"Yes my love"
"Where is your mate mark and what does it look like?" I ask softly. She turns around and points to her shoulder. It's like the one on my left side of my back. "Do you know anything about the marks?" she just shakes her head and goes to her side of the bed and gets under the covers.
I finish getting ready and I lay down next to her.
"Good night my love. Tomorrow we will be victorious and I can't wait to fight for you." Eclipse turns over on her side and kisses me softly on my cheek.
"Good night Eclipse" I return her kiss with a kiss on her lips. We slowly fade off to sleep.
About an hour later I wake up from the deep sleep I was in. Eclipse is still sleeping besides me. I get up out of the bed and make my way to my walk in closet to put some clothes on. I feel like taking a stroll along the castle. I dress warm and put some winter boots on and head to the main entrance.
As I exit the castle the cold wind blows against my face and twirls my hair about. I take a moment to look around . My eyes slowly move to the left of the bridge then back to the right. My eyes dart back at the bridge. I swear I seen glowing eyes.....
THERE IS! My wings appear and I take off instantly. The bridge is very long that it's probably best if I just fly. I zip to the end of the bridge and there stands a lone white wolf. No wonder I just seen the glowing eyes the wolf is almost invisible. I lower myself slowly and drop to the ground. The wolf just stands there staring at me. I dont think it's a werewolf. At least it doesn't smell like one.
This wolf is so beautiful. It has beautiful golden yellow eyes and beautiful fluffy white fur. It's a little bigger than an average size dog.
I move towards the wolf staring into it's eyes. The beautiful creature sits down and just stares deep into my eyes. I slowly raise my hand out to touch it.
"I don't like to be pet."
I jump back and look around.
"Who said that! Show yourself now! " I shoot my head from let to right and stand in a fighting stance.
"I'm right in front of you dummy."
My eyes shoot towards the wolf. "D-did y-you just t-t-talk?" I stutter out like an idiot.
"Wait, you can understand me?" the wolf barks out.
What the hell. "Yeah.... I think I can." I say stepping back."This can't be real right? I have to be in bed dreaming. Th-this can't be real." I ramble on.
"Oh im very much real. Very much real indeed." the wolf says while laying down.
"How can I understand you? You're an animal." I say with a small shakey voice.
"You tell me." the wolf barks out
"Well maybe it has something to do with me being a vampiress." I say. The wolf then shoots up in a defensive stance and starts to snarl at me.
"Your kind murdered my family! My children, my mate, they are all gone because of you!" the wolf jumps towards me and I catch him by the throat and hold him infront of my face.
"I did nothing to you! I'm sorry vampires killed your family but that wasnt me. I could easily kill you if I wanted to, you know. I wouldn't test my patience again if I were you." I set the wolf down gently.
"I'm...im sorry. I thought all vampires were the same evil vile creatures I've encountered before. Do you accept my apology?" He bows his head to me.
"Yes. Would you like to come inside? Maybe I have some good food you'd like to enjoy." I point towards the giant castle across the bridge.
"I really shouldn't."
"What else could you possibly have to do? I saw you staring towards the castle. That's why I came over. I wasn't expecting you to speak though." I say while starting to move down the bridge towards the castle. The wolf follows. "So, do you like have a name? Or something you go by?" I ask.
"The names Winter. My family has lived here in these woods for many generations. I've always come here at night to look at the castle. It's magnificent." he barks out. I look down at him and smile.
"I'm glad you like it. You are more than welcome here anytime. I'm Jessica. I own this castle now and everything around it. I hope we can become very good friends." I say while moving my hand over Winters head and I rough up his fur. He let's out a small growl. "I'm sorry but you're just so fluffy!" I say smiling.
Finally we reach the house and I open the doors and walk in. Winter stops by the door and starts moving his paws back and forth "What are you doing?" I ask with confusion in my voice.
"I must wipe off my paws. Isn't that what you people do?" he says. I just laugh and mention to him he doesn't have to do that. How polite is he.
As we make our way to the dining area a few servants look our way and look shocked. I push open the doors to the dining room and I snap my fingers. A servant runs over to me and asked what I need. I turn towards Winter.
"He will have a raw t-bone steak please. And I will have a glass of blood. Thank you." The servant nods and leaves us.
"How would you like to stay here with me?" I ask him. Winters head shoots toward me and he tilts it slightly to the left.
"What do you mean?" he barks out.
"I would love to try to make up for what vampires did to your family. You could live like the king you are. Just think about it. But I do have to warn you that I will be leaving at dawn." I go on to explain about me and my family to him.
"Let me help! My pack would help too." Winter shoots out.
"There is no way I'd let a wolf I have just met, fight for me. I couldn't ask you to risk your life and your packs lives for me." I replied.
"No! I will help! I've never met a vampire as nice as you and I'm willing to take that chance. And with your offer for me to stay, I will happily stay here with you." he barks out loudly.
I nod and smile. The servant comes in and gives Winter his steak and hands me my glass of blood. I thank them and wave them off.
"I must leave and shower and ready myself for battle. Please make yourself at home. This is your home now too. If you want to go and retrieve your pack please do so. We must leave once dawn breaks." I give him a small smile. He finishes his raw steak and nods his head to me and leaves. I make my way up to my room.
I hope this works out in the end. I need to defeat these vampires once and for all. I will kill them all!
