We all stand looking at Luna with questioning longing in our eyes. She looks back at each of us then to Winter. She floats over to him and puts her small hand on his face and draws her forehead towards his and he does the same. They sit there for a moment and they both decide to pull back at the same moment and look eachother in the eyes for just a moment more. She then looks towards me and gestures for me to follow her to the table that sits in the middle of the room. The table is round and made of dark wood. It's big enough to sit 10 people comfortably. I sit in one of the chairs and the others follow suit.
"How did you hear of me?" Luna says calmly while brushing the small strands of her long beautiful red hair out of her face.
"My brother" I say gesturing toward Ky. "His name is Kyran. He did some searching and found your name. Winter confirmed who you were and we left immediately." I let more flow out than I would have liked to share. Luna looks around suspiciously but then her mouth curls up into a soft smile. "Are we alike? Do we have the same powers as each other?" I don't understand why I keep spitting questions out so fast.
"Slow down child. I shall answer all your questions. Firstly, I am like you. To be exact, there are only 20 of us left and we are slowly dying off. We are alike in many ways but we all differ in powers. Some have more than others and we do share some of the same powers. It varies from vampire to vampire." Luna let's it all out. I stare at her for just a moment. One of my many powers is that I have visions. I can see past, present, and future. I know you feom my visions. I also learned through my visions and book work that you will save our kind. There are many vampires here but not many of the powerful ones, like us. Being said, I must protect you at all costs and so shall your friends." Luna lets out. I just stare at here with im sure a blank stare. I can't be the savior.....right?
"What makes you sure I'm the vampire that saves our kind?" I say raising an eyebrow.
"I told you child, I have viosions. I can see in the future. You save our kind. I've seen it." I jolt up out of my chair.
"This can't be true! Guys I think we made a mistake coming here. Let's go!" I shout making my way towards the door. I reach out for the handle and out of no where the door starts to disappear. I look up and down. "What the....." I turn around and look around. "Luna?"
"I can't let you go Jessica. You ARE the savior and you WILL help us!" Luna spits out. "Please come sit before I make you sit."
I let out a angry huff and make my way back to the table. I pull the chair out loudly and sit down. I sigh one last time. "Fine, but I'm done talking about this whole savior thing. What I want to know is about my make marks. You can see my future and present and past right? Tell me about my marks."
Luna sighs and has a small frown on her face like she doesn't want to disappoint me. " The marks don't signify who you will end up with. Those marks were never right." She shakes her head slightly. "You choose who you love Jessica. Don't let those marks choose for you. In all reality, the first vampires made those marks up and kept with it. They had selective breeding to have vampires with those marks. They mean nothing. I am sorry." She looks away from me to the fireplace.
"Are you serious? What the fuck!" I yell out as loud as I can. There is no way that those marks have no meaning! She can't possibly serious can she? What the hell am I supposed to do now. Who would I choose to be with?
Keep calm Jessica. Keep calm.
I close my eyes and let out the breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Jessica?" Ky says.
I shake my head and look towards him with sadness written all over my face.
"Did you hear what I said Jess?" he says softly. " Are you okay is what I asked."
"Yes I.... I just need a moment." I say out of breath.
"How about some tea?" Luna says abruptly, interrupting my thoughts. She doesn't wait for anyone to answer. She floats effortlessly across the room towards the kitchen. She grabs the old teapot sitting on the wood burning stove and fills it with water. She sets it down on the counter and starts waving her fingers at the teapot.
What could she possibly be doing. I look around the room and they all stare Luna's way. I look back at her and when I do I see the teapot floating over towards the stove. With a snap of her fingers the wood in the stove lights up. She snaps her fingers again and it lights the stove where the teapot sits. Well I see she has another power that I have. I wonder how man powers she has.
"Luna?" I say "How many powers do you have?" I slowly move towards her.
"Well my dear. I stopped counting at 10. Every now and again I surprise myself with a new power. Even the small, insignificant powers count to me. I can move myself with the snap of my fingers from place to place, I just have to think of the place I want to go. I can read minds like most vampires. I can change the weather but feel no need to. The list goes on my dear child." She says a matter of factly.
I wonder if I can do the travel one. That would be amazing. At any moment in time with the snap of my finger, take myself to a different place in the world. Wouldn't that be wonderful.
Hours pass by with all of us bombarding Luna with our questions and she does her best to answer them all. I ask her more about the marks I have. By now I'm over believing these marks mean anything. Luna proved that. I guess I just have to follow my non beating heart with my love life.
"Well Luna, I think it is time we hit the road. I appreciate all the information you gave us. It's nice to get things off my chest. You are more than welcome to come stay at my castle any time you need." I say politely.
"If there ever a time I need to stay dear child, I will. I much rather the peace and quite of these woods." Luna says.
I nod and gesture for everyone to follow me out the door. I can't help but still feel like not all my answers were answered. I tried to stay clear of asking anything else about me being the 'savior' of my kind. I'll save that for another visit with Luna. Or better yet, I'll invite her to come stay at my home for a few weeks.
Hours later we all arrive at the castle and disperse once making it inside. I move fast to my room ready to fly onto my bed and take a short nap. I reach for the door handle and to my surprise it whips open. I look up and Cass ia standing infront of me, eyes wide. I think he is surprised to see me.
"What the hell are you doing in my room?" I shout out while moving towards him. He stutters still in shock.
"Well!" I scream out.
"I.... I just.... just was leaving." he spits out.
"What the hell! That doesn't answer my fucking question Cass." My face burning with anger. He tries to make a run for it. He must be joking. Does he not realize who I am. With the flick of my finger I send him flying onto my bed. I whip my hand from left to right and the door slams shut. With all my strength I jump up and pounce on top of him. The bed comes crashing down onto the floor with a loud thud.
"You better start talking and I mean NOW!" I shout out.
"I'm sorry Jessica." He says. I squint my eyes and out of no where I feel a faint stabbing pain in my chest. I look down and my eyes widen.
"What the fuck!" I stutter out. I feel faint. Everything is fading around me. Then it's black.
