Nanami looked dumbfounded. It was hard for her to believe Tomoe's words. She thought that he was joking but his face did not seem as he was joking. She turned pale, remembering what her mother has told her about the people from underworld. She had been told that these people looked like humans but were very dangerous and had some different powers and apperences that helped to differentiate them from the humans.
"Are you all yokais?" she asked the 3 people standing in front of her. One of the children started talking,"Let me introduce myself Land Goddess. I am Onikeri and this is Kotetsu. We both are the keepers of this shrine. And this is the most important person you need to know. This is Master Tomoe, your familiar. Every God has a familiar and Master Mikage the former Land God had master Tomoe. So now he Is your familiar. Now lady would you introduce yourself to us and tell us your story?"
Tomoe stared at Nanami which gave her a chill running through her spine. She told her whole name, her own story and her dreadful father. Tomoe kept staring at her and she was visibly uncomfortable about it. She turned her gaze towards Onikeri and held her hands and said," I am so glad that even after all this bad thing that happened to me, I now have a family and a home to stay. But what of you mean that I am a Goddess?" This time Tomoe explained her the duties that a deity has to perform and how she has to control her powers.
Kotetsu smiled at Nanami and said,"Don't worry lady. Master Tomoe will be here to guide her through your day and work. He will help you to become the best Land Goddess after Lord Mikage." Tomoe said in a loud, clear and in such a voice that made Nanami feel uncomfortable," Who said that I am going to serve her? I was Mikage's familiar. She hasn't sealed the familiar contract and nor will I. I am free after a long time and..." he looked at Nanami with bloodshot eyes and continued,"You are not my master.."
