So, it was this guy that I was pretending to be...
When I went to Yuuta's social as Mr Moless over here I didn't really read about his profile or personality as my plan was just to stay in the dark. You can say I'm careless but did anyone suspect me? No. Because I decided that I didn't need to read his report when I read that nobody pays any special attention on this low standing, just made it into high class family. I only had a quick look at his picture then threw it aside. He doesn't even know it was me. I didn't want him to know that a noble heir was collaborating with him. Now seeing him up close, I think I should've picked a different family.
He looked a bit below average on looks, scratch that very below average. If I had to guess, he looked a bit overweight and his suit barely kept his figure close to average. His snobbish smile was just grossing me out by the second. That is an achievement. I've been on a number of forensic cases and in none of them have I been the least bit grossed out or attentive to the distance between the body and myself. Now, completely different story.
"Greetings to you as well, I hope you have a lovely night at the ball that my colleagues and I have been preparing"
I delivered the words with a practiced fluency and a fake smile.
The others just held their wits together and smiled as well. While inviting the guest in.
While passing Fox he was looking at her with disgusting eyes.
"My lady,"
He bent down and attempted to hold her hand for a kiss but she dodged it by 'accident' and it ended up looking like he was kissing the air in front of her. I snickered quietly to myself mentally while trying to hold a straight face. The tiger twins both smiled so they failed and Dominic was his usual glaring self towards anyone who's dare approach the queen.
"Good day sir,"
She politely replied with her hands a safe distance away.
They walked into the ballroom while Christopher's eyes remained in Fox until they were a good few metres away. They ended up going to the other end of the ballroom thank god.
"That was not who I expected, I didn't think our first guest of the night would be so... interesting."
I said to the group.
"Me neither, personally I think he's a womaniser,"
This came from a disgusted Dominic who looked like he was just forced to touch poo.
"Well he was interesting, can't deny that."
"He was also spoilt, bets on the Moless family falling in rank when he takes over?"
Everyone put a little hand up in front of them so the Moless family wouldn't see. We all positioned our hands to our sides once again when we heard footsteps approaching. Second guest of the night.
"Sorry I'm late everyone,"
A steady clicking of heals sounded. The one standing in front of them now was the late, Anastasia.
"Sis, lucky,"
"Didn't see the first guest of the night,"
The twins both addressed their sibling first.
"Do wonder what you would of done to him considering your temper."
This came from me with a big smirk in my face at the amusing thought.
The twins and Eleanor, knowing what I was talking about but chuckled. In my head there was an image of her just stamping her heels into his foot when he tried to do anything with that creepy look of his. Probably doing it all with a straight face and maybe, just maybe a slight sneer. Considering what he chooses to do. Dominic connected the dots easily, as expected of him.
"I think I'd rather you'd meet him,"
We all laughed at that.
"Come on, I'm not that mean,"
She said with arms crossed.
"Coming from the person who put the numbing agents last while treating a burn with multiple powers just because I annoyed you a little. "
I said remembering the burn.
"Your way of language annoys me Coltus, be glad I treated it with the powders that work the fastest, it could've been a slow agonising heal"
I went silent.
"How have you been Anna?"
Eleanor asks as she goes up to Anastasia and gives her a hug.
"Better then you have Elly. Remember I'm a free soul, well up until now anyways."
"Why are you here?"
"Sigh, because the heir to the Hu is the one who marries first, whether it be one of my brothers or me."
Fox took Anastasia back to her position and they were side by side talking and chatting the night until the real second guest of the night came.
...
With the greetings finished it we went inside the hall to ensure stage two of the ball. Now stage two is harder then stage one because of the single fact that we have to seperate from the rest and mingle with the guests individually. So off I went walking in a random direction because it would be too attractive for me to go up to a random family and say my greetings. It didn't take long before a high class family showed themselves in front of me.
"A pleasure to be in your presence Coltus Hier, I am the head of the Avon family, Jasper Blea Avon. I would like you to meet my wife and daughter who might be of some interest."
Their daughter was looking at me and I could see her almost drooling, it was a little disgusting to be honest. She couldn't even see my face.
Now, let's see the Avon family....
Of yes they are ranked in the middle but below the Li family. So they require minimal respect.
"My wife, Harriet Colston Avon, and my beautiful daughter Julia Brittney Avon."
They waited to see my reaction in hopes I'd like her and take her as my wife. It was a slim chance and bad humiliation as the outcome but they still did it. When are these people every going to learn?
"I'm sure she will be beautiful for her future husband, as of now I am a free spirit and would like to be this way until my heart says not."
I walked away leaving them standing there awkwardly. I forgot about the hardest part of the second stage, the marriage proposals.
This went on for about an hour before greeting the families with the male heirs. This was basically in hopes to have a stable connection to someone of higher ranking then them, in this case it's the heirs.
Now this was less troublesome and most of the male heirs either looked up to me in admiration, looked across the room at a lover, looked across the room at one of the girls in my group or just seemed disinterested.
The disinterested ones were the easiest to deal with, the others not so much. They would talk on forever and even expect answers out of me. Worst thing is I have to stay there listening for a certain amount of time before saying.
"I'm sorry, but I have to cut short our lovely conversation as I have other guests to greet."
I said goodbye to the Chen family and went upstairs to the central gallery where I found Dominic. He was actually a decent person when your not talking to Eleanor. Opposite me, I could see the tiger twins coming up, Eleanor must still be getting live confessions. I looked down at the centre of the hall trying to remain hidden but I failed. As I spotted Eleanor everyone because hush and was looking at me. I guess I have to deliver my impromptu speech first.
