When I got the the location, all the faces were faintly familiar, it was a discovery to me at first because I only thought I would recognise a few because I knew the faces of the important figures. There was one person, his head was facing away from me but I could recognise him just from his looks from behind. It was the familiar chestnut brown hair that was in the style of curly cut and tapered fade. The stance which was casual but formal at the same time, the trickster aura he emitted and the tilt of the head as the cheekbones lifted. It was an unexpected twist of events when the knowledge of this Social only being meant for nobles with the combination of Dominic appearing. It was the date of the first meet and all the members of the families were standing, scattered over the area and in a calculated silence. Everyone wanted the first interaction to be a good one, everyone wanted allies but also competition. It was tense and it was surprising to see that not many people were here. Only 5 people were here in total, 5 male and 1 female. This made me think that only the heirs were here. That still doesn't answer the question of why Dominic was here.
He has been missing from school for the last few months. A noble class social is the last place I'd expect him to turn up at. He seemed to be smiling at a brave heir that wanted to make connections.
It was a small group of 5 so it was very awkward but with this many intelligent (I think) humans there should be some thinking going on. Since I was a stupid person at the time I decided to speak out first. I was the only member here from Coltus.
"Everyone here is looking for connections. To be allied and competitive, it's what the main goal is. Right? So with this in mind why don't we get the aural senses and the larynx moving by talking."
I said this in front of the group of heirs. What should be going through their mind must be something like.
'Arrogant brat, too much money' something along the lines of that.
"Well then Coltus, why don't you start?" Dominic sneered as he said this to me as if he had no previous contact with me. Smart move on his part. This way people wouldn't associate him with what I'm known now as the arrogant heir.
"Dominic, how nice of you to suggest this. Since we are all heirs why don't we introduce ourselves instead of basing each other of off the written summaries we were all given of each other. "
My voice dripped with sarcasm the first line and it was a playful suggestion that I put forward.
This way people would underestimate me. A snake with no poison, that's what they'd take me for, but in the end when they feel the effects of the poison, they will regret it.
"I'll start, I am Micheal Malligane Coltus, heir time the Coltus family and only child. 14 years of age and currently in a private school."
I felt some eyes go up to inspect me, it was strange for a noble to go to a school with other children. You people know how much nagging it took for me to even attend school.
"Eleanor Amirault Zevary, heir to the Zevary family and only child. 12 years of age and homeschooled."
A young girl who's feature resembled an innocent angel. She had soft features and apparent baby fat still on her face with eyes that reflected her calm nature.
She was the one closest to Dominic who looked at her with worry and a hint of disappointment. Pretty sure it didn't escape the other people's attention that the two knew each other.
Since Eleanor went the others were now considering the idea of an introduction as to not kill the mood.
"Hu Keung, one of the heirs to Hu family and twin brothers to the other heir and a younger sister. 16 years of age and homeschooled."
Almost right after his twin then came up and did his introduction.
"Hu Kong, one of the heirs to the Hu family and twin brother to the other heir and a younger sister. 16 years of age and homeschooled."
The two were identical in appearance and their age made them the oldest in the group.
Their names sound too formal though, what should I call them?
Hmmmm.
"Tiger twin."
I said out loud.
They both had a slight smile then said back together.
"Stallion,"
Of course.
Hu in Chinese meant tiger so it was a pretty straight forward name and mine was self explanatory.
Eleanor's one was harder. When I thought a bit more it came to me. So I turned to her to meet those curious eyes and spoke.
"Fox,"
She seemed to like it, the nickname fox made sense, they were cunning, which was a trait necessary in business, and beauty which she very obviously had. The other name I had in mind was dove but a member of a noble family , that would be too kind hearted of a name. From her actions I could already tell there was a seraph blade ready to be used under that innocent farce.
Finally the only one that hasn't introduced himself was Dominic, I was curious and so was the rest of the group.
We all waited for him to begin which put some pressure on him.
"Dominic Zevary Rushell, heir to the Zevary and future husband of Eleanor Amirault Zevary. I have a brother who is of the age, 5 and I myself am 15,"
He purposefully skipped out on the school but what was the most interesting fact was his marriage partner. The Rushell's really are power hungry bastards. Once they marry into a noble family, to an heir at that, they will be well ahead of the Higashi's. The question is, how did they manage to get Fox to agree to this atrocious deal. It was obviously more benefit to one side then the other unless there was something not so obvious going on behind the scenes. Looks like I need to pay more attention to the mise en scene when I get around to the wedding day.
Well, introductions done, what's next on the non existent list?
