After introductions and nickname giving out, which was mostly because I didn't want to say the tiger twins' name wrong, we all got into gentle conversation.
This was sort of a self orientated get together.
Then some movement was behind the trees, everyone froze instantly and looked around. All noticing the same thing we all got into defensive mode.
The movement got quicker and more diverse then a man walked out, familiar but only faintly. He had messy but neat hair probably a chosen style for a flair of uniqueness, tho mostly it was brushed to the side, this paired with his grey suit was a good pair but not amazing either. He was a tall man who didn't seem to have any facial hair and had a chiseled face, his above average looks made up for the only subpar combination of style. No one relaxed as there was still movement behind the tree but the tiger twins spoke up.
"Father, who is here?"
Keung was the first one to speak up.
"You know it's not appropriate to bring strangers into the perimeter,"
Kong then added to it, it was truly like watching a cliche twins scene. They also protected each other's back as a default defensive stance.
"Especially when there is a group full of heirs that are trained from birth,"
Keung finished it.
Their father then answered as if it were a matter of fact.
"They are your guards, shadow guards. They are a safety lock for you heirs because you are the heirs. "
He spoke with a slight Chinese accent but sounded purely European apart from that. At the word shadow guards everyone still didn't relax, after the explanation the defensive stances all retracted but the muscles were still tense and ready.
"Father maybe if you introduced up to the shadow guards?"
Hu Kong
"Then we'd all feel much safer,"
Hu Keung
He sighed then proceeded.
"Ok then, shadow guards you heard them."
Then he turned around.
"I'll leave you guys to introduce yourselves,"
He left without saying a word more.
Then we all were quite surprised when more then twenty guards showed themselves, this left for more risk as there could be a betrayer in our midst so we stood there to listen and analyse all the guards' introductions.
The sun was visibly going down by the time they all finished, as expected, all very normal and soft introductions.
I sighed and looked at everyone else.
"We'd better be going to the dorms now, shadow guards please show us the way."
"Right behind you stallion," this came from fox who looked like she was testing out the name in her mouth, though a giggle afterwards it looked like she quite liked it. I sent a soft smile back her way and continued to walk while not missing Dominic's scowl.
Wasn't sure if he was being possessive or he truly just did not like me but it made me feel more pleasant inside so it really did not bother me to much.
We arrived at an unexpected place. At the present moment we still weren't at the dorms yet but at the beginning of an old forest. There was a clear line between the start of the forest and the neatly lawned area of the grass.
The roots were unnatural as they came to an abrupt stop at a line. The old trees were evident into their size and colour. This was already starting to feel strange.
"Tiger twins, where did your dad bring us??"
"We have no idea"
Keung
"We were not allowed to see or have any extra information"
Kong
"Basically we know as much as you guys know"
Keung
The twin thing was cool and quite rare as well, not exactly uncommon for rare things to pop up in the noble families though. If anything it was a common appearance.
While the twins weren't of much help at least we know that Lincoln didn't want us to know before today.
"Fox?"
"I'm as clueless as any of you,"
She shook her head as she answered.
"Well this is unnerving," I whispered to myself.
We continued in with the shadow guards still partially hidden in the trees and they went into the forest so I guess that's where our dorms are.
We went into the forest careful as to not trip over the protruding roots of the giant trees, then were an ashen brown and there were also few leafs only hanging on to the branches. Next big gale and they'll be gone.
The forest was deathly silent, not even a rustle of the leaves or calling of a nearby bird. Everyone in the group had their guards up and we were cautiously moving through the forest without a word.
Then ahead of us we could see a some ivy which cling to the side of something geometric, it was probably a building, an old abandoned building. You could hardly make out the shape of the infrastructure as it was basically covered in ivy. As we turned the corner the full size of the structure was there and it was definitely a sight to see, some of the building was revealed through the cracked in the greenery. This revealed an old castle probably from the medical times maybe before. I went up to the side of the building to feel the ancient walls of this magnificent castle. This was never in any of the history books, was this left unrecorded for some reason? If it wasn't that meant that it would be in the classified discovery files.
The guards kept going so I ran ahead a little so that I could catch up with them and the group followed.
Going further in past the castle there seemed to be an abandoned village as well so it was no surprise that we arrived at a school. Then we stopped in front of the school and the shadow guards hopped down from the trees.
"Young masters, this will be your dorm,"
They all bowed then left for the trees once again. I looked at the old ivy covered building.
"This was unexpected,"
"How could they expect us to live in this mess for a whole year?!"
"Calm down Fox, it's not going to hurt us. But why would they put us in here if all places?"
"Stallion, lets just go in,"
Keung
"Check it out and maybe find some clues,"
Kong
I nodded to them then proceeded to find the door.
