Down the soft carpet isle we went and straight through ignoring the rooms of the treasured unknown that were along this hallway. Straight down the middle to the end where the real treasure lies.
We walked up to the black door that had gold flourishes, the theme that differed from the overall gave it importance and the two colours displayed gave it maturity. It's like this door was just made to stand out amongst the ones that already do.
I was about to try and twist the handle to enter when a voice and hand interrupted my movements. I turned back with a questioning expression.
"Ah ah,"
Fox gave me a knowing expression and had a hand on my upper arm. Then a smirk. I narrowed my eyes, im still her senior and she should be showing more respect. Smugly proving a senior rude with a smirk that's pushing it a little isn't it?
I stared in between the two handles. I take my words back, she wasn't trying to prove me wrong at all, well not just trying to. Well, at least I know that this girl is smart.
I smiled as she took a fist to the door and knocked three times looking as stunning as the dawn of day but as elegant as a red ribbon in the morning breeze.
Too bad Dominic is her fiancé might as well taken her for myself if there wasn't him and the noble rules in the way. Oh well, at least I got to set my eyes on a gem like Amirault.
The doors unlocked with an audible click but unlike last time did not open for us.
"Come in,"
This voice was male, almost a grumble because of the low pitch of the raspy voice. Whoever it was seemed to be old, but the fact that his words carried through clearly hinted that he's use to speaking in front of people.
His words were as clear as crystal even with his low grumble of a voice. Though the grumbles carried a wise feeling, as if the years of experience are what he was speaking about.
I went in front of the frozen Fox that was still figuring out the voice and went ahead to turn the handle of the black and gold door. This reveal a stereotypical throne room. The big hall that had wood flooring and at the opposite end were a set of three thrones, heights and placement taking after the stands that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place stood on. The two on the sides were a slight difference in height but both paled in comparison to the biggest throne in the room, the middle one. It was the one that catches the attention, the most important piece of furniture that gave this room its name. And a top it, was a person.
The throne was occupied by a relatively handsome man. He looked quite young and had what looked like straight, long white hair that glistened in the sunlight that comes from the windows and the regal but arrogant way he posed himself on the throne with a smirk. He looked as if he was elven royalty itself. Though his voice didn't match his appearance that only made me respect this man, his life experience must of amounted to that of an old man who has lived his life full of troubles. He sat cross legged with a hand on the arm rest and the other supporting his face while he scrutinised us with a curious gaze.
"Are you by any chance Althgar?"
I asked first and that got me a lot of questioning looks. I'll admit it wasn't the smartest idea to start a conversation with someone that looked important with a question. If he was vain as the other high class heads then he'd be quite offended. He isn't like the others though, I know that fact because of the other fact that he smiled at the question.
"I don't know anyone else with the same name."
He lifted his head off his hand and repositioned himself.
"My name is Michael Malligane Coltus,"
I stepped forward from the group to introduce myself and with a bow I stepped back into line.
"It's a pleasure to meet you.Seems you haven't lost your manners otherwise I would've questioned if they've changed the teaching methods."
"Well Sir Daemon I am afraid that it's only me who has cheated this teaching method. This may be the cause of my outburst. I would apologise but it seems to not have offended you in anyway."
I smiled back at him with a mischievous look to pair with.
"I'm sure you have."
Of course he just had to answer with something that wasn't even coherent with my statement. I raised an eyebrow but before I could say anything more Fox stepped forward.
"I am Eleanor Amirault Zevary,"
She went forward to interrupt our ongoing conversation, probably to save time and get to the point, after her short introduction she did a curtsy and stepped back into line.
Everyone followed suite getting the gist of it while I eyed Althgar steadily, he seemed to be interested in these trivial matters. Names, no one usually pays attention to them unless the person themselves catch your eye. It's a known fact but the fact that a whole group catches the eye. That's basically unheard of.
"Keung Hu,"
He stepped forward and the other tiger did so when he mentioned his name as well.
"Kong Hu"
Then both stepped back at the same time.
"I am Dominic Rushell Zevary,"
Looks like he doesn't know that the family names are normally introduced side by side. Heh, amateur.
"A pleasure to meet all of you. Since your all earlier then the previous I might as well start of this educational camp. How you might ask? By introducing myself, I am King Althgar Daemon, the head of the Deos Terrae,"
Following that I just had to let my stupid mouth run again and so I asked while of course having to be more rude and narrowing my eyes at him. I heard some signs and saw some hands wanted to go up to smack their heads.
"King of what?"
And with a smile he answered.
"Why of Earth, little Coltus."
