Chapter 7 - The Neighbor

As a fan of horror films and books, Ding Jia wasn't much of a fan of dolls at all. Especially when with their eyes that were almost like real human eyes. It was like the dolls could see through you especially at night.

But besides that fact, Ding Jia didn't like where this doll came from either. Seeing the familiar butterfly sewn on the sleeves of the doll, she immediately understood that this doll came from her persistent and obsessive stalker.

She deeply sighed and placed the doll back inside the box. She stood up and grabbed a device in the drawer in the living room and started scanning the box. This was something that she bought that could detect listening or monitoring devices anywhere within three meters.

She would often bring this whenever she goes out for her schedules just to be safe. Being a popular actress and all also comes with terrible perks you know.

After scanning the box a few more times, she sighed in relief when it didn't ring. Thank god that it didn't have any hidden devices this time. This butterfly stalker of hers used to install listening devices on his gifts before so Ding Jia would always throw it out immediately as soon as she realizes that it was from the fan.

She didn't even feel too nervous or tense at all. It's not like this butterfly stalker was the only stalker of hers that gives her strange gifts for the past years. She was scared at first but over time, she just got used to receiving those kinds of things and she would just dump it right away if she didn't feel safe with it.

Ding Jia stood up and picked up the box. Before she got out of her apartment, she brought her metal garbage can with paper inside and a lighter. She entered the lift and went up to the rooftop and stuffed the box inside the metal garbage can. She lit it with fire without batting an eye and as soon as she thought that the fire was already strong enough, she closed it with the metal lid.

She was too busy watching the metal can that she didn't notice the presence of another person on the rooftop.

"Next time you want to burn something on this place, can you please check your surroundings and make sure that no one is air drying their clothes nearby." A voice resounded from behind her.

Ding Jia jumped in surprise. Fudge, she thought she was alone ah!

She spun her head and saw the figure that was meters away behind her. She blinked her eyes profusely as her vision adjusted to see the figure clearly.

...oh my.

Ding Jia was stunned when she finally saw the figure's face.

It was a man that seemed to be taller than her. But that's not what made her stunned at all. You know, in her line of work, meeting handsome and good-looking guys made her immune to all those kinds of people so she didn't get tempted at all every time she works with that kind of actor.

But my gosh. God must be seriously blessing this person in front of her.

This man… has the face of a god. No, maybe he was even more good looking than the gods too! How can this man have perfect symmetry?!

And look, he has a tall and perfect looking nose that would surely the envy of a lot of people. His jet-black hair that looked so silky even from afar. Is that truly real hair?

His sharp eyes look quite scary even from the distance but she couldn't deny that his crimson eye-colored eyes were, even more, intimidating yet hypnotizing. It wasn't a very common color and so she thought in passing that this guy must have been wearing some eye contacts. But the guy continued to walk over in her direction immediately shortening the distance between them.

She couldn't help but stare at his crimson eyes and be amazed as she realized that it wasn't a contact lens at all. She had worn quite a lot of contact lenses in the past to immediately recognize if someone was wearing one or not and this godlike guy in front of her was definitely, a naturally crimson-eyed guy.

"Are you done staring?"

"Ah?"

Ding Jia blinked in confusion when he spoke. The guy stopped one meter away from her dazed figure as she didn't realize that she had been staring at her for quite some time already. Realizing her impoliteness, she returned to her senses and apologized.

"Ah? Oh! I'm so sorry."

She quickly moved her eyes and finally saw three clothing rack standing a bit farther away from she was. She finally remembered what this guy had said to her before she was blinded by his looks.

"Sorry, I didn't notice the clothing rack so I thought it was fine to just burn something here. Besides, uhm, I'll leave the lid on so the smoke won't escape. I'll move it to the corner so the smell won't stick to the clothes." She responded one after another before turning around and hastily picked up the metal trash bin. The handle was slowly getting hot with the fire lit within but Ding Jia endured the slight sting on her fingers and immediately moved the bin to a different location.

After moving it to a corner, she looked back and saw that the guy was still staring at her coldly.

Is this godlike guy still angry ah? She already moved it very very far from his clothes.

Besides, this was a luxury apartment ah. She didn't expect that someone would still hang their clothes dry on the rooftop! These days, families have their own dryer in their own homes you know?

And each apartment has its own balcony so a lot of people usually hang their clothes there instead of going upstairs to hang their clothes dry.

Ding Jia blinked. This neighbor is quite unique ah.
