I was about to rush out when Dan apperead with breakfast and tea for me and with a huge smile oh his face he wished me "Good morning sister!"
"You scared me, Dan!"
"Sorry to make you worry sister. I woke up early and I didn't want to wake you up ." he said blooming.
"Thank you so much. We'll leave in an hour; is that okay? " I asked.
"Yay!" he exclaimed. I'm gonna make you meet my friends.
I ate, bathed and got dressed up in a ripped black jeans, black top and a green jacket.
and paired it up with black aviators and black boots.
"You look good, sister! Dan complimented. My friends are gonna be so happy to meet you."
"I hope so, sweetie."
We walked quite a long way. He said it wasn't very far from here. We wouldn't need a taxi.
Finally we reached a open ground and we saw a few children of his age playing football.
"Aye guys, look I brought my sister to meet you all. come here!"
At this all the little boys and girls came running by and looked at me with curiosity.
"But you said you don't have a family" said a girl in a low voice.
"This is sister Stella. I met her yesterday. She found me on the street and helped me. She fed me a lot of delicious food and let me stay with her."
"Where did you guys meet?" I asked
"We met at the orphanage then Dan ran from there because he was mistreated.
They didn't even look for him.
He had no where to go. He lived on the streets, alone." said a girl named Sia
I looked towards Dan who was looking down towards the floor. Maybe had remembered some bad memories.
I didn't want to push anything so I offered these kids to take them for a meal.
" Okay, but we gotta return by 5pm." said Jake.
So here I was. On the streets of London, a city I knew nothing about with 7 little children of age 10-15 years.
I took them to watch the movie "Coco" and then to eat.
Dan was happy to see them and they all liked him too.
But when I asked him if he wanted to go to live with them, he disapproved.
I dropped the kids back and they made me promise them that I would come to meet them again.
Me and Dan were now walking towards a group of empty houses for sale and to talk about accomodation.
He was silent for sometime but then he spoke maybe realising that he wouldn't be having any problem in sharing with me the dark period of his life.
He trusted me and regarded me as his real sister.
"Sister?"he began. " Promise me you would never leave me, like everyone else in my life did,"
"My heart filled with emotions when I saw sadness in his eyes.
" I promise" I said.
He took a deep breath and then began.
