I wanted to know the truth no matter what.
I called the manager, Nancy, and all the people very close to Mum and Dad in order to extract some information.
They respected my parents so they respected me. They all came.
I asked them if they knew anything about my parents that could link up to the possible murderers.
Nancy didn't see them at all. She knew nothing. The manager knew nothing. The trusted staff knew nothing.
No body saw someone suspicious.
No body knew anything about the men with snake print t-shirts.
No body knew with whom did my parents meet today.
I was in utter dissapointment.
I didn't think that no one would no a thing.
Just when I was sitting in extreme agony and almost hopeless.
My Dad's bodyguard came in.
His name was Simon.
We didn't talk much because he was very professional and was always near my dad. He might have come to pick me up from school once or twice when dad and mum couldn't.
When I saw him, I had no reason to, but rage took over me.
I started to blame him and I yelled at him, " Where were you then?"
My eyes started to fill up but I didn't let the tears out yet.
"You were supposed to protect them, weren't you?" I've always seen you near them. Where were you today, Simon?"
"Master Dan, he said in a low voice as if understanding my pain and my reason to yell at him. If you didn't notice I wasn't here since a few weeks.
Sir John asked me to take care of an important business that he trusted only me to do.
I rushed back just now as soon as I heard the terrible news.
He was right. I didn't notice him gone. Maybe I just wanted to vent and to blame. I was becoming unreasonable.
"What was the important work that he trusted only you to do?
You must know something, Simon. Tell me, please. I need to find out who did it."
Simon cleared his throat and faced towards the company staff.
"The company has to be shut for now.
You don't have to come for work from tomorrow".
"What?" everyone exclaimed in a single voice.
"Is the company going to be shut down?
Master Dan is the only successor, he has to take over his parent's business." said the manager and the crowd agreed.
I didn't care about the inheritance or the company but this was my Dad and mum's hardwork. Their dream. Their company. The only thing that belonged to them that I have now.
"What are you talking about, Simon? You want their company to shut down. To just vanish into thin air just like that?"
"Listen, people! I have something very important to tell you." Simon said solemnly.
What we are dealing with now is very dangerous. If you continue to work in the company, you all might die.
And most importantly, you have to swear on your loyalty that you will tell no body that Master Dan is Sir John and Madam's son.
Those men didn't know they had a son.
Or else Master Dan's life will be in grave danger.
"We promise " everyone said.
"We might start the company again in a few years and we'll need you all bacause you are the heart of the company but till then, you all have to stay low and find another jobs. We thank you for your support and your contribution to the company.
Hope to see you soon". Simon said and bid them farewell.
Everyone left and Simon looked towards me.
"Now is your turn, listen carefully."
