Dan took the tissue from the table and wiped my tears.
I didn't even realise, I was crying like that.
I felt my heart aching.
Why him? He is such a sweet little boy.
Why did he have to face all of this alone?
Nothing could replace his pain and sufferings.
I was trying to think about how do I help him, when he said to me.
"Don't think too much. Don't worry about me sister. I'm fine.
It felt good to share. I'm glad you listened. Maybe its just my destiny."
"Don't say that Dan.
You have so much waiting ahead of you.
After every storm comes the rainbow.
Don't lose hope.
I am there for you. Now you are not alone. You have an elder sister."
"Okay thank you. Now lets go to find your home.
We've wasted enough time here."
With this he held me hands and took me out to see some houses on rent.
We were sitting at a bench, tired from looking around and not satisfied with the rooms when a beautiful lady, around 25-30 years of age appeared in front of me and asked me
"Mam, are you looking for a house to live?"
Respect? Out of no where? Who was she? How did she know I was looking for a house?
"Yeah...! Is it that obvious? How did you know?" I asked, confused.
"I heard you talking to an owner that you wanted to rent a house to live.
I know a place and thought you'd like it. Do you wanna give it a try?" she said.
"Sure! I am desperately looking for a place I can call home but none of them feel satisfactory. So I can give yours a try" I told her.
"Follow me to my car its not very far we'll reach soon."
Me and Dan sat in her car and she took us to a house.
We got off the car and my eyes bulged out.
My five year salary + life long servant contract also couldn't afford that house.
It was like a celebrity's home.
"Who the hell lived here? Is it yours? I asked the lady?
No its not mine, mam. I am just the Estate manager.
The owner doesn't live here.
It's new but there is one thing I forgot to mention she said
You have to share this house with someone.
Oh okay no problem.
I couldn't have been able to afford this house on my own.
So, who is she? When is she shifting?
She already lives here ma'am
She's just gone to work and maybe be back in a day or two.
"What is her name? "
"I didn't see her ma'am.
Someone talked only on the phone and took this house.
I think, 'Addie' is the name, around same age as yours."
