Elias had slept through half the day before he awoke to a familar voice in his head, and his ring started to glow faintly. Still only half-awake, he said, "your back." Klaus began to stir and mumbled, "What," Elias just told him to go back to sleep, and then he was under again.
This time fully awake, Elias spoke in his head, 'where were you when werewolves were attacking me.' Elias was angry because the woman before had been the one that had said she would protect him in times of danger. The woman's soothing voice spoke once again. 'you were never in danger, and I sensed that you needed to experience danger to grow your powers. I sense full-grown you will be more dangerous than any werewolf.'
Elias thought that maybe she knew what he was and was about to ask when The woman interrupted his thoughts, 'I must go, Elias, before the ancestors find out that I have been away, but before I go, I think you would benefit from learning magic. Here are a few spells for you to learn."
Elias almost screamed at the pain that ensued. Four spells projected into his head, and he saw the purpose of each. The first spell was a fire spell with the incantation of Incendia, The second spell was at telekinesis spell called Motus, The third was telepathic communication spell, and the last was a spell that outlined how to make a basic sturdiness enchantment.
Elias's head still hurt, but he was happy. Elias thought that he would finally be able to tell if he was a witch-like Esther. Just as Elias was about to get up and try out one of his new spells, he heard footsteps coming up the stair to his room. Alva knocked on Elias's door, waking up a Klaus. Just as Elias was about to tell Klaus to hide, his mother opened the door to see the two boys sitting startled.
First, Alva looked Elias, who was sitting on his bed and then looked at Klaus, who was sitting on the sleeping bag Elias gave for him on the floor. Alva smiled surprising both boys, "looks like my little Elias has his first friend. I knew you could do it." Alva looked at Klaus and said, "I'm so glad I thought my son would turn into an antisocial weirdo."
Before Elias and Klaus could clear up her understanding of their impromptu sleepover, Alva told them both to get ready for lunch.
Klaus didn't have clothes to change into, so Elias let him use some of his even though they looked baggy on him. Klaus happily accepted. Elias and Klaus changed, and Alva was already sitting at the table, filling their bowls with the stew that she made. Klaus sat down but was uncomfortable when Alva started to stare at his face.
Alva couldn't help herself, "who did that to you, Niklaus."
Alva had been friends with Esther since she had come to this village, so of course, she knew how Esther's children looked. Alva was angry who would dare hurt her friend's son.
Klaus looked away and mumbled something. Alva confused asked what he said, and Klaus repeated himself louder this time, "It was my father."
Alva was abashed at a father that would do such a thing. Though she wasn't surprised, Esther and Alva did not meet as often as they used to ever since they had married their husbands. Esther's husband Mikael often clashed with Erik, and both were powerful men in the village. Mikael owned the most land in the village, and Erik was the village smith and clan chief.
Alva always had thought Mikael was a mean small-minded control freak and so Esther and Alva grew more distant.
Alva looked at Klaus with pity, "well, eat up. I made a hearty stew."
Klaus and Elias continued to talk to each other about irrelevant things before Klauses expression suddenly changed.
Klaus gets up from the table, confusing Elias and Alva, "I have to go, my mother is calling me."
Elias still looked confused, "How do you know."
Klaus held up his red-tinted necklace. Elias looks at it and realizes that the necklace held magic similar to his ring. Klaus said bye to Elias and left into the woods in the direction of his house. Elias realized that Magic had many applications, and he was eager to learn them all. Elias was developing for knowledge.
After Klaus left, Elias told his mother that he would be in Erik's workshop. His mother agreed without paying much attention. 'time to learn the spells I was given' Elias's platinum eyes flashed red for a second before returning to normal.
