Chapter 9 - Learning more about Classes

After leaving the Dungeon I realized that it was already pretty late. Besides the two bored guards at the entrance, there were only a few other people in view. The walk back to Adalas was boring. None of the usual tropes one should encounter even showed so much as their tail. No Bandit attack! No Robbery! Not even a carriage of a princess under attack! Where are my tropes? I want my fucking tropes!

While I was raging internally, deep down I was glad nothing happened. I mean if even slimes were as strong as the final boss, how much stronger would bandits be? I shuddered at that thought.

Once I arrived in the safety of the city I decided to visit the guild for a short moment and check out how much the cores of the slimes were worth. They must be at least worth a platinum coin right? I mean slimes are strong mother fuckers.

Fortunately, there weren't many people other than me trying to unload their hoards of treasures so I didn't have to spend much time waiting.

Unfortunately, I soon learned that slimes weren't as strong as I thought. One slime core only got me 5 copper. Even worse was that apparently, my luck was quite bad. Slimes should also drop slime essence, which was used in alchemy and could be sold for 10 copper. Normally a slime dropped at least one essence for every two or three kills. I got nothing! Nothing! Even though I killed a massive amount of five slimes! How is that even remotely fair?

The whole way back to the Inn I was lamenting my bad luck and the unfairness of this world. I've got no problems with someone else having bad luck. I mean that's just how the world works. Some times you lose, sometimes you win. But it's totally unacceptable if this happens to me! It's me you know! The world can only be fair to me! It's not allowed to be unfair to me!

After I finished my childish rant I found myself back at the Inn. Before heading to the bath I enjoyed dinner which was a type of monster steak with steamed vegetables and some kind of gravy. While the vegetables and the gravy were somewhat bland, spices were probably a bit of a luxury, the steak was fan-fucking-tastic. Although I didn't know what type of monster it was from, the taste and texture were many times better than anything I have eaten in my old life. It probably was something like monsters having mana or some other kind of energy making them stronger.

After dinner, I took a bath to clean myself of all the grime from fighting and then went into my room. There was one thing I wanted to try since I got it in the Dungeon. The Priest Skill Class Analysis. I focused on my self and mentally willed the skill to activate. Feeling a small tugging force in my brain suddenly a list of all classes appeared in front of me.

The interesting thing was that the classes were marked with a (N) behind it. Focusing on that (N) information seemed to flow into my mind. Apparently, there are different types of classes. There are the Normal Classes which are easy to get and are basically the starting point. Some classes then combine together and form new classes once you learned all of them and brought them to a certain level.

After the Normal Classes are Rare classes. Which are a combination of two Normal Classes. So probably something like Archer (N) and Scout (N) will get you the Ranger (R) class. There are also special classes for when you excel in one class. This is probably something like leveling up your Swordsman (N) class to a certain high level getting the Swordmaster (??) Class.

There seem to be the following rareties, Normal, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Godly, and Unique. Unique classes are special because they are obtained only by specific people and depend more on your disposition. They can be as good as Godly classes or as bad as Normal classes.

Interestingly I also learned that normally a priest doesn't see the class rarety. It seems to be something unique to me. The same was with the description of the class I got if I focus on the class name. This is some unbelievably valuable shit! With the knowledge of class rarety and class description, I can find rare and powerfull classes for myself and my harem! Hehe!

OP! This is OP! I take it back, the world isn't unfair to me! The world is the fairest of them all!

The only thing which would make the whole thing even better would be if I got a list with all achievable classes and their requirements. This way I wouldn't need a trial and error method. But all I can do know is level all classes up until I find a combination which suits my OPness!

Imagine having three Godly ranked classes active at once! I would be unrivaled under the heavens! A god amongst men! A dragon in the body of a half-elf-orc!

This would also explain why Priests are valued so much. Since you need to change your Class a few times until you get a strong one. Alone something like becoming an Elemental Mage would take at least four classes, right? I wonder what Rank an Elemental Mage would be. Is it Legendary? Or is there a bigger gap from Rare to Epic? If so then what would legendary need?

Grrahhhh! My head hurts. Too much thinking! Let's take it one step at a time.

Before I start thinking about Legendary classes I need to become strong enough to easily kill those Endboss level Slimes! Let's decide on a plan for the next few days. I paid the Inn for 7 nights and this is my third one. So I got five more days before I need to pay again.

The first priority is getting more money. No money, no food, no bed, no slave harem. Yeah, money without a doubt makes the world go round.

To get money I need to be able to fight the slimes. So leveling up to become stronger and better with my spear should be the way to go. I don't believe staying in the Guild to train with Nutru would help me much at this point. What I need is hands-on experience.

It is time for that right? The typical, standard, contained in every story, the fantastically boring, TRAINING MONTAGE! Right? Right?

With a certain song by Vince Dicola playing inside my head, I hit the pillow and went to dreamland.
