Mathis walked Mary home during the day since she was willing to help him out she'll have to help out in return, he didn't say what he was going to be out for only to help him with notes.
They reached her apartment she extended her hand for a handshake "Thanks for today I've learned a lot today! If it wasn't for you I probably would have failed my report. Don't worry I'll still help you with your notes by the way why are you going away for some time?"
Mathias looked down "Family Réunion...."
Mary smiled at him"I'm sure you'll have a blast seeing your family again, by the time you come back it'll already be summer break."
"You wanna hang out don't you, since you ate all the mochi I bought you I'm willing to take you to the ice cream shop."
She nodded blushing a bit at his sudden approach "You're asking me on a date aren't you?"
Mathias grabbed her small hand placing it with his own "Yes Mary I am, there are so many things I want to tell you but I'm scared of your reaction about how you will feel after all these years."Mathias blushed deeply looking away at Mary.
"Years? What are you talking about Mathias?"Mary looked up at him confused. Mathias let go of her hand shaking his head "It's nothing I'm just saying too much, I'll tell you later on. See you later Mary you better have the notes when I come back. Oh, and be ready for our date." He winked at her as he walked away. As he started walking home he felt a presence near him knowing who it was Mathias didn't hesitate to call out their name" Shelly I know it's you come out."
Shelly walked up to him from the shadows of the darkness "How did it go Milord, did you finally make a move on her?"
Mathias rolled his eyes at her "What do you think? I just asked her on a date if she's willing to go. I didn't tell her that she's my wife, for centuries I've been trying to look for her. For Mary to be alive it baffles me she died from a rare illness, I'm scared to lose her again."
"Mathias, you must remember there was no medicine back then now that we have better technology here medicine is greater in this generation.
"Once she can remember who I am then we shall go home." Shelly looked down slightly " Which home do you mean are you talking about the underworld or Japan."
Mathias laughed at her question "I know she wouldn't want to go to the underworld she hated going there so it's best if we go to Japan. It hurts so bad not being able to touch her, hold her, love her."
Mathias stopped walking having flashbacks of his lover; Shelly rubbed his shoulder firmly "Believe me Sir you'll be able to do all those things again I promise you."
Smoke surrounded their bodies Mathias smiled to himself slowly turning into a Sliver fox with fluffy ears and a fluffy tail wearing a light gray kimono. On the other hand, Shelly was a female Tengu though it was rare for her kind she didn't mind, having beautiful black wings and a uniform with a long spear. In the distance, Mary Stood thereby at the corner shell shocked by what just happened. She was just going to give Mathias money for the mochi he bought, everything happened so quickly so suddenly. Mary turned around feeling something grab her throat slamming her against the wall and covering her mouth.
"Boys we finally caught the sliver fox, human wife. I can have a Tasty meal after my hard work, Let's go!?" Mary screamed at the top of her lungs getting dragged into the portal into the world that lay beneath them.
Mathias's eyes turned red as anger rose within him "They took Mary to the underworld. How dare they..." Shelly leaped to the portal as Mathias did the same. Mary on the other hand was struggling to break free from the demon that had a hold on her. The demon drops her to the hard floor she looks around and sees the old decapitated shrine.
"What do you want from me? I wanna go home !" Mary was frightened causing her to tremble in fear. One of the demons set the fire the other talked to Mary. "We can't do that, you see the sliver fox Mathias didn't tell you anything about your past life and why you are so valuable to us demons."
"What am I so valuable for?" The demon laughed at her idiotic question "Do you know what the Sliver fox clan is Worth in this realm!? You being married to Mathias head of the white fox clan, you are worth being sold at a slave auction for humans. Just imagine the money flowing in this home, sweetie but our little pet talk is over. You're going to be sold if not tonight or tomorrow!"
Mary Stood up clenching her fist "I know Mathias and Shelly will come for me! Though I'm supposedly his dead wife brought back to life I'm going to have faith in him. I don't need some dirty-looking demon telling me what I am !?"
Mary felt a hard slap against her cheek tears began to fall down her face. With one swift motion, she saw red eyes lock onto her in the shadows, Shelly ran up to one of the demons slicing it in half quickly as blood began to fly everywhere. Mathias picked up Mary's body carrying her bridal style tightening his grip on her small frame as his blade made contact with the demon decapitating its Head from the body. Shelly ran off the find the other demon leaving Mary and Mathias alone in the shrine.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get here fast enough Mary."
"Mathias is it true what those demons told me about your clan being worth fortunes along with me"Mathias sat down quietly still holding on to her "We are a mystery and we must stay that, you're married to the Leader of the clan which is me. I tried hard to play dumb and act grumpy to you even when you talked to me before I still came off rude I'm sorry. Seems like history is repeating itself, you are reborn again, and this time I promise to keep you safe, but I need to erase this from your mind you know too much at this moment. I want you to remember when you're ready not to find out like this especially peaking behind the corner to give me something."
Mary blushed in embarrassment" I was trying to give you money for the mochi! When I saw you and Shelly transform into your true forms I didn't know what to feel. It surely looked cool, the smoke around your bodies so magical. Are you going away to be here for a few days"
Mathias placed his forehead against hers "Yes Mary I do have to go be here tomorrow and the day after that I come here from time to time for business with other demons. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me Mary once I do this you remember anything of this day except for me walking you home and the notes/homework. Before I erase your memory can I say how much I love you and how dear you are to me? Until I see you again Mary." Mathias's lips made contact with her lips as she suddenly began to feel dazed slowly falling to sleep.
Once Mary was fully asleep Mathias leaped through the portal to her bedroom setting her down on the bed and putting his bracelet on her wrist. Taking a final look back at Mary smiling in her sleep of happy thoughts he leaped through the portal as it closed she opened her eyes looking at the bracket blushing to herself as her memory slowly started to fade.
