(Kirito pov)
I walk back into the room to see Yuki asleep soundly, as I get closer I notice her eyes were puffy and looked wet.
(She must have cried herself asleep.)
my heart ached that she was having to endure all of this. I move her hair and she opens her eyes.
(I never thought id fall for you but now that I have I can't imagine why I never did the very first moment I met you.)
Those words stuck to me. I smile warmly at her.
"Sit up I brought you something to eat and drink."
She sits up and wipes her eyes.
"Thank you Kirito."
She reaches out to grab it but I pull it away.
" No you're too weak I will feed you. "
Her cheeks grow pink and she narrows her eyes. I chuckle and then take a drink of her juice.
(Yuki pov)
Before I could react Kirito plants his lips on mine and holds my hands over my head pouring the cool liquid into my mouth, I swallow the juice but he takes the chance to deepen the kiss.
(What is up with him! He's always trying to kiss me!)
he hovers over me still holding my hands and slowly moves his kisses down my neck.
"K-Kirito?"
he continues.
"Shh"
He responds and then kisses me once more on my lips interlocking our fingers with one hand he places his other hand onto my thigh and starts to move it up but as my heartbeat increases with every touch sudden and intense pain courses through my body.
"Ah!"
Startling Kirito he immediately moves away and looks at me worriedly.
"Yuki, what's wrong?"
I shake my head and turn over facing my back towards him.
(Every time we get close like this I get that intense pain and my heartbeat feels like a train. this pain is different from last night's though, I've had this pain since Kazuki sent that letter last time but why do I keep having it now?)
Kirito pulls me over to him and puts his arms around me.
"Did I hurt you?"
I shake my head.
"No, but I think I'm ready to tell you everything now. But you have to promise me that you won't say a word to anyone no matter how bad this gets ok?"
he nods and I explain to him everything that happened and brought up about the last poisoning too.
"So what are your plans now?"
He whispers and I can feel his breath on the back of my neck.
"I don't know yet, all I know is that either path I choose I will lose everyone that I cherish."
Kirito makes me turn towards him.
"No matter what, you won't lose anyone and I'll make sure of it ok. "
I smile warmly at him and he kisses my forehead.
"Your fever feels gone now, do you want to go on a walk?" I nod. "She lets go."
As I finish changing my clothes Naiomi comes in and looks at me weirdly.
"Yuki, what's that on your neck?"
*hmm??*
I turn towards my mirror and my heart skips a beat realizing what she was talking about and the images of Kirito kissing my neck came back to me making me blush.
"Um, mosquitos got to me last night when we came back home haha..."
she shrugs and laughs at me.
"Ok well guess what!"
I laugh nervously.
"What?"
she smiles warmly.
"I heard that one of the high mage knights will be watching the tournament tomorrow!! he's come on behalf of Mr. Akita the president!!"
The flashback of Kazuki being in the high mage crosses my mind and I just smile warmly at Naiomi.
"Really? that's so exciting."
she pouts.
"Yuki are you alright?? You aren't acting like you normally do."
I nod.
"I am ok just not feeling well today."
Naiomi looks at me worriedly.
"You have been getting sick quite often, I am getting worried about you Yuki."
She places her hand on my head and Kirito walks in.
"Hey, You ready-"
Naiomi looks back at him and then back at me grinning ear to ear.
"Oh of course she's ready!"
she nudges me towards Kirito and giggles. I couldn't help but smile at her.
"I'll see you later today."
She waves goodbye and Kirito and I take our leave.
Kirito and I walk along the campus taking in the scenery. Kirito takes a hold of my hand and leads me to a wooded area that was surrounded by a bunch of different colored flowers and had a bench in the middle of them all, we sit on the bench and he keeps a hold of my hand.
"Theirs something I need to tell you, Yuki."
he hands me a letter and I read it feeling ashamed as I look back at the time we argued about quitting the tournament.
"Kirito I'm sorry-"
he kisses me softly then pulls back away.
"I know, it's ok I showed you this because in a way your right with what you said. I had no right to make that decision for you even if I was just trying to protect you, so now you know why, but now we also must be on our guard."
I sigh thinking about the tournament.
"Did you already tell them we'd be quitting?"
he shakes his head.
"No, because they need to hear it from you."
I nod.
"Ok then let's go."
(Though I know this is playing into Kazuki's tricks there's nothing else I can do at this point. I know I'll have the upper hand at some point but not right now it seems, I'll find a way someday.)
Kazuki helps me up and we make our way to the headmaster's office, upon entering we are greeted with warm smiles till he takes a glance at me.
"Ms. Yuki, what's wrong with you?"
(I didn't think he'd notice how pale I was but I guess the cat is out of the bag)
"Nothing much I think I have come down with the flu though so I came today to say I won't be able to be in the tournament any longer..."
he frowns and looks towards Kirito.
"Take her to the infirmary to get checked out and some fluids she doesn't look too well, I can sense that there is something much more sinister here."
shocked by his response I was at a loss for words. and try to say something but just as I was about to speak up the door behind us opens and in walks no other than Kazuki along with Kana by his side with admiring eyes. Kazuki looks at me with a smirk.
"Little sister, why do you look so pale?"
Kirito places his arm around my waist and pulls me a bit closer to him.
"We think she has the flu, The headmaster said we should take her to the infirmary to be checked on, we were just here telling him about us withdrawing from the tournament. "
Kazuki frowns and Kana smiles.
Kazuki looks back up towards the headmaster.
"I came all this way to see my little sister battle and you're taking her out of the tournament?"
the headmaster shakes his head nervously.
"No not at all she can still fight, if it's the flu she should be good to go by the 3rd day, we can just move her fight to then!"
Kazuki smirks and looks back towards us and Kana frowns.
"There see, now you can still battle!"
my heart drops.
(I thought he didn't want me to battle in the tournament much less use my magic, what the hell is he planning or trying to do??)
(Kana's pov)
(Damn I didn't think Kazuki even wanted her to battle, if I would have known that, I wouldn't have gone through all that trouble to put that letter in Kirito's room!)
(Kirito pov)
(Somethings not right but I'm not sure yet what it is, right now Yuki needs to go she can't be in the same room as him I can feel her strength fading.)
I make the first move towards the door with Yuki but is stopped by Kazuki.
"I can take my sister-"
I could feel Yuki tremble for a moment and quickly interrupt him.
"Theirs no need, I am her partner and can manage on my own, Besides I am sure you have more important things to do here."
he snickers and shrugs.
"Ok then see you around."
I open the door and we go out. Once out of sight from them and we turn a corner Yuki places her hand alongside the wall and holds her hand near her chest.
"Yuki?"
she shakes her head.
"It's ok, let's just go."
(Yuki pov.)
For a moment there I felt as if my heart would explode from all of the stress, once arriving at the infirmary the dr comes in and places a cool drip of fluids in me and puts a heart monitor on for in case reasons and Kirito sits down beside me.
"Dr what's next?"
Kirito asks casually.
"Well, I'm going to use some magic to look within your body to see what headmaster was talking about."
Both Kirito and I look at each other then back at the dr.
"Do not worry, we are on your side and we are smarter than you guys take us as. we have known your guy's situation for some time now."
Kirito sighs in relief and grabs a hold of my hand.
"So does that mean we're 100 percent safe here?"
The dr nods.
"Yes we have made sure there are no devices nor people who we think may be a threat. I myself will be the only one to treat you."
we both nod and feel a bit at ease.
"Ok, now I need you to explain everything to me that led up to this point today."
