Chapter 40 - Birthday and Merriment

"I'm actually pretty relaxed after all that." Iskandor says, floating in the hotspring.

"Yeah, I'm just glad you seem to have gotton a hold over your urges." Hikari replies, not as easily to embaress as mating season has flown by.

"I'm still hurting from all that..." Serena pouts.

"Serena, have I told you how cute you look when you pout like that?" Iskandor asks. Serena in turn blushes and turns away.

"So, it's now the 25th of May... Does everyone know what that means?" Lar asks.

"I know I do, but do you two remember?" Iskandor adds.

"You almost literally fuck my brains out and expect me to remember?" Serena asks, a little annoyed.

"I could do it again you know." Iskandor says as he subtly manipulates the water so he can drift towards her. "And to be honest, your pouting makes it that much harder to resist." In response Serena somewhat playfully, somewhat angilly pushes Iskandor away.

"I think you said your birthday was on the 25th, right?" Hikari asks.

"We got ourselves a winner!" Lar answers.

"If I didn't already fuck you guys through the "myriad realms of revelry" and back I'd ask for birthday sex, but we've been indulging ourselves in so much debauchery that Sanguine himself would be proud." Iskandor states, "So, how about we do as the hobbit-folk of middle-earth and I give each of you a present instead."

At this Fenrir wakes up from his nap, over the month he has been with the group he has grown quite fast, physically and mentally. "Presents? I would like one too!" Fenrir exclaims, jumping onto Iskandor. Well, mentally grown quite a bit despite his somewhat childish personality.

"What would you like Fenrir? I could make you some non-restrictive armor, go hunting with you, maybe even teach you magic." Iskandor asks.

"Knowing you, you would already do all of that." Fenrir answers.

"True, do you have anything in mind?" Iskandor asks.

"Perhaps, but I would like a little time before I actually request anything." Fenrir answers, a slight mischievous glint in his eye.

"Fine by me, Hikari, do you have anything in mind?" Iskandor asks.

"Not now but sometime in the future I'd like if we could all go to my homeland." Hikari answers.

"Of course, I'll even wear a kimono and follow many of the traditions during our stay." Iskandor answers, hinting at something but none seem to notice. "Lar, how about you?"

"Well, you'd do basically anything for us, even if it wasn't a gift or some other silly gesture, you'd do it anyways, so I'd like you to continue being who you are. A genius in the art of crafting, a brave warrior, a tactical mage, a cunning rogue, a powerful leader, but most importantly, a dragon at heart with the best dick around." Lar jests in all honesty. Everyone laughs at this, including Fenrir.

"You have a valid point, all you really need to do is make a wish and I'll be there to grant it. No real point in giving gifts on special occasions on my part." Iskandor says.

"I'm back, how was mating season?" Aerial asks, startling the girls as she swoops down with fresh game.

"I see you've gone hunting, I guess I'll make lunch, and thanks for the privacy during that time." Iskandor says.

"It's alright, I needed to catch up on the goings-on of the world so taking nearly a month off was nice. I know that we know very little of one another despite the introductions we've made nearly a month ago, so feel free to ask me about myself if you don't mind I do the same." Aerial says.

"Is it me or do you seem a bit different?" Hikari asks.

"Probably just that I'm actually used to conversation now, it's been about 800 years since I've made conversation so it's to be expected." Aerial answers.

Everyone makes their way out of the hotspring and makes casual conversation while Iskandor preps lunch.

"Fenrir, sorry I was... busy... for all that time." Iskandor apologizes.

"It's alright, I've socialized with the wild-folk of the area." Fenrir replies, referring to the various animals of the woods, particularly wolves and other critters that don't have a hostile or scared disposition towards wolves.

"I'm glad you've made friends, anyone in particular?" Iskandor asks.

"Rocky, a small wolf-like creature made of minerals. As well as Inari Shiro, a white Fox."

"I guess you should be Fenrir Svart or Fenrir Kuro depending on if you want to stick with Norse or if you want to go for some Japanese or whatever their equivalents are." Iskandor teases, understanding Fenrir's feelings towards Inari Shiro. "In some depictions of the deity Inari, the diety is an old man riding a white fox, in others Inari is a beautiful woman with flowing white hair. I might want to start a small rice farm now..."

"Why would you need a rice farm?" Fenrir asks, ignoring the teasing he received.

"Inari was heavily tied to rice, and Hikari seems to love rice too. And it can be used in many great dishes so even if Inari doesn't love rice I still have a reason to have it." Iskandor explains. "But it could be very impractical to do it ourselves... I don't think the yield of a rice crop is very high and the portions of rice can be pretty large depending on various factors..."

"You're rambling..." Fenrir reminds, used to Iskandor's occasional tangents.

"Sorry, but at least uncooked rice won't go bad, so we can just stockpile it." Iskandor finishes his thoughts as he finishes the meal.

"Alright, who wants some great stew?" Iskandor asks, passing bowls of mutton and potato stew.

As everyone eats and makes casual conversation Iskandor mentions "It seems Fenrir has found himself a mate, or at least someone he likes."

Fenrir denies it and as everyone can now understand him via a modified empathy link they laugh and give lighthearted remarks at his expense.

"If you need relationship advice, ask our resident harem king." Lar jokes, causing Iskandor to nearly choke on his food while everyone else laughs.

"Or if you need to know how a women thinks, specifically a fox girl ask Hikari." Serena adds.

"Hey! What makes you think I can help?" Hikari retorts, adding to the festivities that are playful teasing and non-serious arguments.

"Feel free to bring your friends around to visit if you want, If they don't already have a good place to stay they are more then welcome to stay here as long as they need." Iskandor says.

"Speaking of, how is Fenrir getting through the labyrinth and trapped stairway?" Aerial asks, bringing up a huge plothole.
