"Something's off..."
Kira was carefully examining Yin and Yang, who's standing in front of her. They claimed that they're also twins, born from the butterfly clan. Yin has white hair, white eyes, while Yang has pitch-black hair and eyes. Their faces look a lot alike, sleek and handsome, with charming almond shaped eyes. Apart from their difference in color, they also have different personalities. Yin was much brighter and sunny, whereas Yang was dark and gloomy.
Given these facts, Kira was in total confusion. Somethings not right, she was certain. Then an idea popped right to her head.
"Your Yin" She said
"No, I'm Yin, that's Yang"
"Kira, that's way too obvious, you couldn't possibly miss that" said Airi
Kira shook her head "Your names...."
"Er?"
"Your names are not in the right person" she continued "You should be Yin" She said pointing at Yang "and you should be Yang" she added now pointing at Yin
"Oh! I get it now!" Shouted Airi "I'm such an idiot how could I possibly missed it! So that's why your wearing the opposite pendants!"
"Opposite pendants?" Kishi asked out of curiosity
"Like you, the two of them also have pendants. Theirs is the symbol of the yin and yang if you connect the two pieces together. Apparently, Yin is currently wearing the black, and the white is at Yang. We often asked them why they're not wearing their color, but they never answered" Mythica had explained
"We answered! We told you, we did it on purpose to remind us of each other, so we would never forget even if we got separated! You just never believe it!" Yin bellowed
"Well, that's one reason--"
"The only reason!"
"Okay fine, let's say your telling the truth. But why exactly are your names got switched" Airi asked him
"That...was a mistake. Were always together, so we never knew who's who. So instead, we just chose the name we like and figured that we made a mistake, and--we got used to it, we can't change it"
"What a feeble story" sighed Rex
"I was the truth! Isn't it, Yang?"
"We would have believed you, but sadly, you two aren't the only twins here, and there's Kira and Kishi, then Tsusu and Chiesu"
Yin opened his mouth to make another protest, but Yang spoke first before he could even speak
"Leave it Yin, let them believe what they want to, I don't care"
"You don't! But--" Yin tried again but Yang hissed him quiet
The class begun as Amili entered the room, and the students went back to their respective seats. They continued their study about History Since A Million Years Ago.
Kira wasn't listening, and she was flipping the page of her copy of the book. After some while, she let out a quiet groan and just slammed her book, leaned over to Kishi, trying to rid of boredom.
"What's the sudden change? You were very excited about this yesterday" Kishi asked her
"Nothing really, I just felt like there's something wrong"
"Like what?"
"The history's--well--not right"
"How so?"
"dunno, it feels wrong. Like...somethings missing, or maybe it was miss-written"
Kishi sighed "I feel the same. To be honest, I'm not really expecting it to be always right, but it feels like you already knew what happened, but can't explain why or what"
"Do you think.....it's because of the curse?" Kira asked him anxiously
"Maybe, we never knew"
Kira wasn't having trouble catching up with everybody. Everyone grew to like her as well. The two of them is still sitting around during magic practices since Professor Sy strictly instructed them not to practice without his surveillance. After class, they always spend their free time in the library, doing homework, or simply just reading.
"What are you doing?" Rex asked when Kira arranged books in a circular shape around her.
"Just be quiet" said Kishi
Kira took a deep breath then closed her eyes. The books around her started to float, then opened. It circled around her, in a fast, but not very fast motion as the pages flipped themselves.
Rex's mouth fell open, and so are the others are surprised. "Wait! I-I thought--you weren't able to use magic--no, you just started!"
"Are you really that much of an idiot to believe that?" Kishi told him coldly "Don't forget where we live, and also were only not able to use some high leveled magic, but basic magic like these are a piece of cake"
'Yeah, but--" Rex was taken aback by the sudden realization. This was not the first time he saw them use magic, but this is yet the most obvious spell he ever saw them cast.
"So, what is she doing?" Lune was curious, not taking his eyes off Kira
"That was--well, memorization"
"Er? What?" They all said together
Uninterested to give an explanation, Kishi sighed "You heard me, memorization. Kira do that to master the book and store it in her memory, though, she wouldn't be able to master it completely unless she does that, and read it normally. In short, Kira has a library of her own. Pretty amazing huh?"
He finished explaining and took a glimpse of the others, but his explanation only made it worse. Every mouth of those who heard, was completely open, but Kishi decided to just ignore them.
"Done!" said Kira as the books closed and stacked themselves neatly
Looking at the others, it made her tilt her head in confusion.
"Kira..." Mythica asked her anxiously "How many books have you read and mastered
Smiled cheerfully and replied "A hundred and fifty thousand six hundred ninety-six books sister!"
Mythica's face lost all color and she almost fainted. Kira on the other hand, tilted her head again in confusion then asked "Er...did I....said something?"
