Chapter 41 - Chapter 40 Fairy dance

With the cheerful sound of jingle bells, the laughter and the chattering all subsided. The large bell on the bell tower rang twelve times. It was already midnight.

"Attention everyone!" Amili now stood at higher platform, enough for everyone to see. She spoke loud and clear with a grin on her face

"To our dear visitors, we most welcome you here at our school. To our beloved students, he hoped greatly that you have enjoyed this night. This year at XX55, we now held our hundred-and-third annual Nativity ball! Let us dance tonight!!"

All the tables vanished, leaving only those in the side. The Christmas three also vanished from sight leaving only glittering snowflakes. The music started from the source no one knew where. The students only guessed that it must be from the floating lights that have appeared high in the ceiling. Everyone made their way to create some space in the middle for those who would like to dance. Pair by pair, the students walked into the middle and started dancing. They all danced with complete elegance and grace, and dared not make a single mistake. They all knew that if they want to achieve the title of the school prince and princess, this is their chance to impress others and gain all attention. One simple mistake and its over for them.

In the side lines, the twins had just finished their pudding when Mythica took a malicious glance at them. She walked close to the two of them then pretended to slip and intentionally pushed both of them in the dance floor

"Oops! Sorry!" She said in an obvious manner. Those who heard knew exactly that it's a fake

The two of them looked at her with disgruntled faces. Kishi sighed then reached out a hand then asked her for a dance, and Kira shyly accepted. Once again, all eyes were at them as they dance with total elegance and grace, and even those who are dancing with them fell in a daze. But this time, the twins barely noticed anything as they were completely into themselves. Their confidence was higher than usual and they felt like they could do no wrong. Everyone who sees are all greatly astonished thinking that these children could never be more perfect.

"Their dancing is like a spell..." Neon mumbled to herself

"'cause it is a spell" said Kail, princess of the Enchanted fairies.

She is of the same kind as Sychi, but she looked a lot different. Her size is on par of a normal human, and she can also hide her wings if necessary. She is a type of fairy known as true fairies, a higher rank than those of the guardians who are dedicated to their palaces which they protect. And most of all, unlike Sychi, she is an official member of the guild. She is very beautiful and her hair is blonde and looked as if she was showered with glitters as it sparkled. She looked at the twins with wondering eyes.

How could they have possibly learned such a thing? And to subconsciously cast it? How disturbing this is

"Kail, what are you trying to say?" James asked her

"Fairy dance..."

"Huh?"

"It's a dance similar to waltz, but has a spell hidden to it"

They looked at her with confusion, she sighed and begun to explain it more carefully

"a complex spell that is casted by dancing. It's not all special, but the effects are quite frightening. Those who will see will fall for its charm almost instantly and will fall for everlasting admiration. For simpler words, it's like an extremely severe love spell, one that is very dangerous"

They were all lost for words as she finished. They looked around them and just realized how different all the people were acting. They also realized how quiet has it been since the twins started dancing. The sound of the music felt somewhat creepy.

"Worry not though" Kail relieved them "I can undo the spell in no time at all, so no harm done. However, it is quite alarming knowing that it was those two who did it, I never even heard anything about it." She sighed "Sychi"

"Yes princess" Sychi answered at once

"Do you know anything about this?" she asked her

"I'm afraid not, and I'm perfectly sure that those two know nothing about this either"

"That made it sound more frightening" said James

"But it is amazing, don't you think?" Sychi said, looking at the twins with pleased eyes "It reveals that these lovable pair possess quite the talent and pure potential"

"Quite alarming I say" Kail sighed

James sighed in delight, but an anxious thought appeared to him. He just hopes things will get better somehow, but he also knew well that it has yet to begin.

Meanwhile, Red was helping himself with some Raspberry flower juice, holding it like some kind of wine. As he looked at Kishi, he felt a sudden urge of disapproval. He doesn't seem to be pleased about anything; the spell has also been proved useless against him. He also knew that he lost against him this time, but what pissed him most was the fact that the Rainbows are there, that he kept taking side glances at them.

"You really don't like them, do you?"

Startled, Red looked where the voice came from and to his surprise, Airi was leaning on the pillar beside him, half hidden in the darkness. He looked at him then looked at the twins and sighed

"You and I are no match against them"

"Don't compare me to the likes of you" Red glowered

"Sometimes I wonder why I found approaching you more difficult than Kish, but in a way, it does make sense" Airi sighed "All you need is someone pure to touch you, not someone as half as me. After all, you wouldn't like being around someone you hate like yourself" Airi was about to leave when he looked at him again, he smiled unimpressed about himself then said,

"Of course, whether we like it or not, we are alike at some ways. Or at least"

Red watched him as he left then stared at his glass of juice. He laughed at himself, disbelieving what he just heard. It's not all entirely true. Thinking back, the only reasonable thing he heard about what Airi said was about them not being pure. Both of them are half blood of the Sacred Kingdoms. And Sacred Kingdoms are meant to give aid those of the Sacred Palaces. Their blood is only half pure but they have to serve the same purpose. It's funny to think about it, especially if they would be the ones closest to the palaces except those who were absolutely meant for it.
